I have to run to the store, so I won't bother posting Gears 3, C2, and Rage shots+gifs that easily look as good as this stuff, or better if I decided to toss up some of the bad looking KZ3 media floating around.

The detailing is nice but I can't tell much from them shots

1. A game that exists on more than one platform (including the pc) is not exclusive...at all.

2. This is system wars...not console wars. The pc counts as much here as any other system.

If you disagree, find another forum.

3. This is system wars...not company wars. The PC is not a Microsoft platform. It is an open platform. Microsoft just so happens to make the most common operating system and that is also only just one component that makes a PC work.

4. The "console exclusive" and "console graphics king" terms have no place here because it selectively excludes a system that is included in this forum. (see above) Find a better term to use.

5. An already multiplat game going to another system is not an exclusive lost for any system the game was originally on."

Given the pics I've seen gears 3 defintly looks more visually appealing then killzone 3.

I think overall GeoW3 graphics doesn't have that artistic touch that KZ2 and KZ3 have. The latter games has some beautiful lighting effects that make them look like an artwork straight from the comic book. GeoW just goes the easy way with "moar polygons, bigger textures" to look pretty.

Also judging by the previous entries, KZ2 was really chaotic and cinematic while GeoW2 was a bit static and lacked such oomph.

It's not as if Killzone 2 looks any better. How a game with textures as bad as this gets any kind of praise is beyond me. I guess slapping on tons of gradiant film grain and over exessive smoke effects is impressive these days.

And teuf(mod) has clarified on the subject before, you can have console only discussions, but cant imply that PC doesnt belong on system wars

You can make a thread to talk about consoles if you want. That thread was made because at the time it got popular for people to start complaining about the PC, and say things like "PC shouldn't even count here". The point to take from it is that PC discussion is certainly considered on-topic for this forum, and implying otherwise could be considered trolling. It doesn't mean that every thread on SW has to somehow include the PC.

I see where you're going with that line of argument and I sort of agree. I think it's okay if you choose to pacifically compare graphics between two consoles (like Xbox360 vs PS3 vs Wii), but to use "console graphics king" is just plain wrong as you are intentally excluding a platform. By stating "graphics king" you are intentially including every platform in the comparsion. Putting "console" at the front doesn't change that. I would agree if you said that KZ3 was the best looking game on consoles, but console graphics king is a little bit much. That's like saying 2 is the best by excluding 1. It kinda makes no sense.
