At the moment the Wii is pretty bad and the 2008 lineup is pitiful
It's anyone's guess as to what the 2009 lineup will be like but so far the Wii doesn't seem to be gettign the same love from developers as the DS
This topic is locked from further discussion.
and how do you know this?
in relation to what you said here:
"Sheep have been saying the exact same thing you just said for 2 years now. Nothing's change. What makes you think it will change now?"
the Wii being a sales juggernaut was a surprise, but it wasnt considered a success at first. remember all the 'its a fad and it will end soon' remarks?
the Wii hasnt cemented its sales domination until the end of last year... and you expect those companies to quickly turn around and make a wii port of the games that they have been developing for at least over a year? seriously?
they could if they wanted to. dead rising anyone? capcom anyone? i don't think it's that hard for devs to make ports for wii honestly.
the wii's been outselling the competition for 2 years now. are you telling me new games like prince of persia, beyond good and evil, vesperia ect couldn't have been announced for wii during that time frame?
if you really believe wii will start to get good third party support , then prepare yourself for E3 2007 and 08 all over gain :?

I'm sorry, but Blizzard does have new IP planned. And GoW was new IP in this gen from Epic. What new IP has Ninty released this gen? Not to mention, Epic isn't a very big developer. Ninty is far larger.
And just because SSBB scored 3% higher than SSBM does not mean it was definitively better.
yes, GOW was a new IP from Epic this gen. yet it looks ridiculously similar to Unreal, their only other IP.
Blizzard has a new ip (finally) confirmed, knowing blizzard, this will be available in 2-3 years... hm... that sounds familiar, doesnt it?
also, whether SSBB is better than Melee differs from person to person, but those things aside, by SW rules, YES the 3% means its a better game.

its only been relatively recently that the Wii has been considered a success and anything but a fad...
the wait should be worth it .. it's generally always been this way
we already got one quality wave .. zelda TP, MP3, SSBB and SMG
the next wave might look something like this: pikmin 3, kid icarus, start fox?, f-zero?
if i only had a wii, the wait would be hard .. that's why i can understand why wii-only owners might be a little annoyed .. but don't say that nintendo are abandoning the hardcore
they're doing what they've always done .. the old teams are hard at work, they have new teams making wii fit, wii sports; these don't affect traditional game development
it's the same on every console .. the 360 and PS3 just have better 3rd party support that fill up the calendar very well
nintendo don't have that to the same extent so it looks worse for them

I honestly cannot believe everyone has failed to read the artical correctly, save 3 people.
It takes 2 to 3 years to make a Zelda mario MGS Halo GT or Metroid.
This does not mean as soon as the said this the began working or stopped working on current core title new IPs or old, this means it takes them 2- 3 years to make a Core game. It means it took 2-3 years to make Mario Galxy and SSBB and guess what both were probably in the makings at the release or Wii or before.
I would gather they already started on a few eh? Lets not play the blind man though, if they had a great new game to show I would imagine it would have appeared at E3 even though the admitted that showing was a giant public failure.
I hold my hopes for E for all, yet I don't expect anything ground breaking this year, we already have Mario Kart and its good and we already have SSBB which is awesome.
Yes Green Hood man please attack my gaming tastes not only have a I put tens of thousands of hours into gaming, I have a good variety of all genres and consoles under my belt. The question you need to ask your self is Do you feel lucky? Well do ya?MeadAndCheese

The two of you, please read more closely. I said NEW core IP. Shall I explain what that means?
A move from 1st to 20th may LOOK like a lot, but it may mean nothing. Just because GameRankings ranks games by their metascore doesn't mean that those rankings actually mean anything. A game 3% higher than another isn't measurably 3% more enjoyable, or with 3% better graphics or whatever. Rankings don't have any implication on how good the game is.

First off the Epic Games+Suda 51 is a NEW IP announced VERY RECCENTLY. You say they dont do new IP's they just announced one making your post=fail.
And do you know how much they make off of licensing games off to developers? It cost 700 000$ to license the Unreal Engine 3. How many developers would be perfectly fine with that as their overall game budget? And guess who's the President and Vice President of Epic games? Not game developers (well technically they are since they work on games) but engine developers. Tim Sweeny and Mark Rein are Engine developers at first, then work on the game bits on side similar to John Carmack.

When someone said that Ninty should make games like SSBB better than its predecessors, your rebuttal was that "ssbb outscored its predecessors." I pointed out that outscoring doesn't make it better. You said, "by SW rules, YES the 3% means its a better game." I pointed out you're wrong, SW be damned.
no, im not wrong. once again, for the last time. the first thing i said was: "whether a game is better than another differs from person to person"
i said by SW rules, ssbb is a better game. so how can you seriously ignore the "by SW rules" part and just bother with what i wrote after that, and at the same time also ignoring the "whether a game is better..." part
you are seriously just trying to argue for no good reason at all...
so i was discussing that brawl scored higher than melee, but all that matters to you is whether its significant enough or not?
ogvampire
Your point was that a higher score makes it better. My point is the difference between the scores is insignificant, therefore, it's not necessarily better.
dude, are you seriously just going around in circles without really understanding what im saying?
reading comprehension is something that escapes you, i see.
Epic Games+Suda51 Project so this makes your post an already automatic faliure. And Epic Games is an engine developer first, and then a game developer. They make most their money off of licensing engines to other people, not making games.

Man, how could I forget that? Good point.
well, i wish i could say its been fun going around in circles with you, but then i'd be lying... good day
[QUOTE="subrosian"]simply pathetic.wii was never made for core gamers it was made for little childrens with their momy and daddy and know they wanna get the core market as well so they tell a lie about the games being in development which games need 3 years to be made.they have just started working on them.Joystiq Article
So... does this mean we won't be seeing something beyond the "list filler" "it's sorta a core game" stuff for the Wii until 2010 from Nintendo? I lost faith after E3 2007 and E3 2008 - but I kept hearing "just wait, it's coming." Only, apparently, it's not coming anytime soon :|

I'm done being pissed, I'm simply tired of this. I recently found out I'll be getting a Wii gratis, it's in the mail to my house as we speak. I went through *every Wii game* looking for titles to stock my library with, and came up with half-a-dozen potential games, out of all of them, that meet my needs. And I'm not the only person left feeling this way...
Nintendo, you continue to disappoint me - you used to mean something with consoles - I think the reality has become this - if you're a Nintendo fan, and a serious gamer, buy a DS, the Wii will supposedly be enjoyed by your family and friends, but you're getting a long wait to have the kind of games you camp out for :/

man, i just love blind speculation from haters... it gives me some good laughs here and there
Rumor Nintendo 2ND Party Core game Day of Disaster is going to hit Europe come October 24th, 2008...BAgamerRumor: Disaster Movie will get a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes

Please explain. Where are you going with this?
Since when does waiting for good Nintendo games stop?
There have always been large time gaps between good games from Nintendo.
Exactly. So why is this thread newsworthy? Do owners of the PS3 and 360 not have to wait a few months between first party releases?
Wii owners don't have to wait long. A great hardcore first party platformer is being released in less than a month.
Good dames in general take month to come out on the Wii.
What came out this month?
What came out last month?
The only big good games to come out on the Wii this year is Mario Kart and Smash Brothers.
Wario Land is coming in September and Animal Crossing is coming in November. So, you honsetly expect Nintendo to release great first party titles every month?
Do Microsoft and Sony release amazing first party titles every month? How is the Nintendo's first party situation any different than Sony or Microsoft?
Nintendo Fanboys:
The reason why people are bringing this up is because you have stated in the past that the core games are enough for you, even if there isn't sufficient third part. But nintendo doesn't release many core games a generation. In fact, its usually 1 zelda, 1 mario.
Core games alone aren't enough to pull along the wii because they are released so infrequently ... and what happens when there are delays?
The system isn't worth buying this generation.
Are you seriously trying to pass that off as a fact?Nintendo Fanboys:

Sony releases 1st party titles more frequently.
