Havn't played Mass Effect. Not a big RPG fan, but a huge Action Adventure fan. I'd probably like U2 more, but I won't vote because i havn't played ME2.
I'd be willing to bet well over a thousand dollars the vast majority of people who voted have not played both games.
What's the point of even making a poll like this? to find out which fanboy type comes to system wars more often? b/c that's the only real result this poll could ever show.
I liked Mass Effect 2 more, but uncharted 2 was still an amazing game that I really loved to death. Two of the best games in a LONG time and they come out only months apart. Great time to be a gamer either way.
One simple reason why Mass Effect 2 is better..............it uses more of the freedom that the gaming medium allows than UC2 when it comes to storytelling. Not only that ME is a credible scifi universe which has three novels, a comic book, and even an upcoming movie. Its also smarter than Star Wars and braver than Star Trek. Generation defining gaming series.texasgoldrushI would says its a draw. Uncharted 2's design is absolutely flawless while being 10 to 13 hours long while Mass Effect 2 has extraordinary depth its not always an entertaining experience due to its more tedious nature being an rpg(not to say its a bad thing in rpgs, but micro managing is always a flow breaking process) Though I think the game that should win should be the one that ur girlfriend can watch for hours on end without thinking your a sad and pathetic man child with no life out side of his Xbox live account.
Honestly haven't played Mass Effect 2 yet but Uncharted 2 was one of the most complete gaming experiences I've ever had. Its going to be hard to top, so for now its U2 by default.
I will say this is the closest SW poll I've ever seen lmao 200-201. Mass Effect 2 is winning by a vote!
I like Mass Effect 2s narrative more, and I enjoy how I have alot of say in how Shephard reacts to the scenarios brought into the narrative and universe. I think Uncharted 2 has better gunplay, overall better pacing, and has enough change of pace moments to be exceptional from start to finish. I also thought the MP is fun as hell. Really though comparing the titles is going to come down to which genre you like more.
For me it's very close. Uncharted 2 is fantastic, but Mass Effect 2 has been in my head lately since I just recently finished it and because of hype. So tie for my tastes, the only thing you can compare is cover systems, combat scenarios, and shooting mechanics. That I think Uncharted 2 has by a reasonable margin.

I bought an xbox 360 to play mass effect 1. Yet i buy mostly ps3 games including uc2. Uncharted 2 was a great game. It had awesome environments andhad pretty good multiplayer. But i just got board with the game. A game like mass effect has a very high replayability. Everytime you play through the game you get a different experience. You actually feel involved with the entire story of the game instead of going along for the ride. Yet i think it is unfair to compare 2 games from entirely different genres. i still feel like uc2 is worthy of all the acclaim that it received. We will see how well mass effect will do compared to uc2 last year.

I never said better than Star Wars or Star Trek........just smarter (Star Wars)and braver (Star Trek).
Except for maybe KOTOR II and The Old Republic (by Bioware...lol), the Star Wars universe is black and white, good and evil. Its hardly shades of gray. The prequel movies were below average in its intellegence and script as well and the Original Trilogy has its silly moments.
Star Trek on the other hand is smart, but extremely idealistic. In 95% of episodes, idealism wins and every goes back the way it was. Not that there isn't any dark moments and DS9 should be credited for stepping out of Gene Roddenbery's idealistic vision as many times Sikso can sacrifice idealism for the greater good. The Mass Effect universe is far darker, in a way, its the opposite of Roddenbury's vision.
It is true that they pay homage to many scifi movies, but they do bring the intellengence and the emotional resonance on their own.

Mass Effect is the epitome of black and white, with very little grey. There is an obvious good versus evil system. Paragon vs Renegade is essentially two sides of the same coin, and so much of the series is overturned by how little some choices mean. The council wether you save them or die will still be just as dumb as ever in ME2. That turian council member has no ideals of his own, he's just there in the games story to make you hate him wether you kill the rachni or not. Which is the most simple question of all time. Genocide or no Genocide. One where its painfully obvious.Uncharted 2, better stort and better direction, more"hollywood" like, also better combat. Why would you care about diaogue options when you got such well designed characters in the game?dakan45because you would like to have some direct control of how the story progresses. Make it something more personal to the player. That and for better or for worse those Uncharted 2 characters follow a TON of adventure film cliches.
ME2 lack of RPGness is its downfall, what can I say I enjoy RPG elements/loot.
ME2 is the best Bioware title thus far, especially on the technical part as most Bioware title simply suck at that part and people seem to like Bioware more than me, but Uncharted 2 is better.

I agree with the fact that dialogue options are significant as they have a direct effect on the events within the game (making for a more immersive experience), but also I think that most games follow film cliches, and Uncharted 2's characterisations (aesthetically, vocally, dramatically - everything) are incredible - way beyond most other games.
I dont even know how to compare these two. Their objectives are completely different. They have one thing in common - TPS combat. Which has better combat? Umm, Mass Effect 2, simply by default because its a bit more strategic and you have friggin force like powers. Does that mean its a better game? Dont know.
