Uncharted 3 gets 9.9 in worlds first review!!

watching a vid off youtube is different from plaing the game.

example:

first Assassin's Creed looked awesome in 2007, probably the best graphics in consoles that time, but it was a crappy game (and i dunno why Kevin V defends his 9.0 score til this day)

secondly, look at Tetris. does not look at all exciting from watching someone else play it, but once you;re playing even though the blocks go slowly it still feels tense. 8)

inFamous 2 got a 7.5, LA Noire got a 9 and Forza 4 got an 8.5..... I have absolutely no idea what GS will give UC3. I mean they're so random! I think it all depends on if the reviewer wakes up on the wrong side of the bed or the right.

The video game medium is so young. Infantile even, compared to what potentially can happen. Technology will improve to allow for more creativity, deep strories, and characters. What developers consider a major feat as far as gameplay or graphics engineering, would be purely child's play programming wise 100 years from now.

I don't get people who hope this game will get below a 9.0. I mean it would be hilarious to see GameSpot blow up, but people it's just not going to happen. This game is too high of quality and it's ND we're talking about here. They know how to improve their games and provide a great experience. Just because the reviewer messed up on Infamous does not automatically doom Uncharted 3's score.

After looking through their website: HobbyNews.es I cant find a game that got below 80 I mean they gave Kane and lynch 2 an 82 and Final Fantasy 14 online an 81 (honestly I think that's a record for the highest score anyone has given that game). Not that I don't think Uncharted 2 will have high scores (there's no doubt).....but these guys standards seem really really low.

Video games, at best, will be good action movies. They'll never be a "superior story-telling medium" to literature or film.DarkLink77

because only the best counts, right? what about I Am Sam vs the Twilgiht books? see what i did there? you said the 'superior story-telling medium', yet a medium can only do so much. it relies on content more than anything else. that is just poor logic. you go on from general to being specific because you lost the argument? lol. you said that video games will only be as good as action movies on its best form, yet do the best films only went as high as good books? stop kidding me, please.

Yea I see it now. Looked up 'Playmania'...not credible enough to be counted in Metacritic.

As far as the 9.9 score goes. It's a stupid score. Why a 9.9. Just give the game the 10.

Awards are not something to take it so lightly as scores. Scores you can say = opinion.. like yours right now. Why sheeps/lems are on denial about UC3 ? I dont get it.AzatiS

I agree, they aren't to be taken as lightly. But the thing about awards in the industry is that there is no one unifying group that does so. Every site has its own version, so its emphasis is weakened.

And I wouldn't know about the D word there (which is modworthy, by the way. Just a heads-up), because I am neither of the two. I am merely expressing my own opinion that UC as a series, is overrated.

hell, on another thread (the one about scores don't matter) i was defending the notion of average scores, as they're the closest we can get to a tangible way of measuring how much a game is liked.

none of this, however, will change my opinion about uncharted, and that's why i'll only borrow it from a friend, enjoy the game (probably drag myself through the end, when i can't stand all that shooting anymore) and give it back to him.
