Unpopular opnions thread

Final Fantasy 7 and 12 are my favorite Final Fantasy games.

This gen only:

- Alan Wake is my GOTY of '10

-Thus far, no Bethesda-published RPG (2 Fallout games, Oblivion) has received an 9.0+ score from me, unless rounding up. I still have hope for Skyrim

- Rainbow Six: Vegas is teh best FPS this gen so far (not counting The Orange Box since it's closer to a collection)

- I don't think Crackdown (1)is the cat's pajamas

- Uncharted series is overrated, although deserves to be adored in some aspects

- I sold SFIV after playing BlazBlue: CT

- Call of Duty 3's MP > all other CoD's-although I didn't play CoD (PC) back in the day.

- PS3's best exclusive is Valkyria Chronicles

- Wii Sports Resort is the best sports game this gen that I've played

- Modern Warfare 2 is an AAA game (even though I can't recommend it to all FPS fans)

- Warhawk was the PS3's first killer-app

...that's all I have atm.

Worst part of X was the voice acting. Hard to deny X's superb combat system. And the villains were bad. And most of the cast was meh.

I'm like the king of unpopular opinions. I'll share a few:

Way too many people obsess over graphics and review scores.

Wii is a great console.

Internet trends, fads and meme's are totally stupid.

Fanboyism is mindless.

Paying $60 for a game 90% of the time is a waste.

The majority of games being released these days are crap.

Some people play shooters just to try to fit in with a popular crowd.

Too many people agree with what's popular instead of thinking for themselves on the internet.

DLC should die off.

Online multiplayer is not that great.

Buying and selling used games is perfectly fine.

Reviewers are not better, less fanboys or smarter gamers than average joes.

Peer pressure makes people buy games they otherwise would not.

Thinking people online are really your friends is absurd.

Powerful hardware doesn't automatically make games or systems great.

-GTA IV is the best in the series.

-inFamous series > Uncharted series

-Crysis' story was actually okay

-LittleBigPlanet is the best PS3 franchise

-Black Ops' story was surprisingly good

Deadly Premonition was the best game of 2010
Shooters have become one of my least favorite genres.
The Forza series is the best console exclusive.
PSP is better than the DS
Paid DLC is evil
Paying more than $40 for a new game is a joke

I think GTA4 deserved its 10.

Final Fantasy XIII is a pretty good game.

Most mods on PC gaming suck ass besides like Elder Scrolls mods.

I secretly wish Nintendo would start developing third party so that I don't buy a Nintendo system and can't play multiplats.

PS3 is my favorite console this gen but I absolutely despise Sony as a business corporation.

Mass Effect 2 > Mass Effect 1

Demon Souls isn't hard and is quite boring

The Best reason to own a 360 is for the Shmups

Uncharted has better MP then Gears.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood was a medicore game because of the addition of multiplayer.

The Wii has better first party exclusives than the PS3.

Uncharted 2 is ascasual as they come.

The Atlanta Falcons are awesome (I know, not exactly relavent) ;).

Call of Duty and what it stands for is hurting the industry due to the dangerious precedents it sets in its success due to aggressive marketing from Activision.

Just because a game is rated E doesn't actually mean it appeal to kids.

EDIT: Online multiplayer is completely and totally inferior to local multiplayer in just about every aspect.

Meh, alright.

FFXIII was fun

NieR > GOW3

RDR is not GotY worthy

ME2 was average, heck ME1 > ME2

DA2 was decent, heck DA2 > ME1 > ME2

FFIV and FFVIII are so damn mediocre (although maybe VIII isn't an unpopular opinion)

Resonance of Fate was trash

FFVI is average, Kefka is laughable

Persona 3 > Persona 4 (well, P3P is at least)

-Super Mario Galaxy 2 is more creative, imaginitive, and inovative than every Microsoft and Sony published game combined this gen (it`s probably the most creative game I ever played in my life)

-Uncharted 2 is very mediocre in most aspects (bad and slow paced gunplay, the forced pace that keeps you moving at a snails pace most of the time, the worst and most pointless `platforming`I have ever experienced, and a very poor story). Naughty Dog could learn A LOT from Sucker Punch`s superior inFAMOUS series.

-Batman Arkham Asylum is the best game I have ever played on the PS3 by quite a good margin

Loved both KOTOR and KOTOR2 but for some reason the second stayed with me longer.

Personally I felt the characters were better and had much interesting dialogue (Kreia having a very grey, nihilistic view of the force and Atton having a seemingly cocky attitude but underneath it was a lot of self-loathing and turmoil) as well as the building up of Revan's character as an enigma, mystery and Gray Jedi with interesting motives rather than the typical council view of Black & White.

Yup, better dialogue and better characters, two of the main things I enjoy in rpgs :P
Still two awesome games, its almost time to replay them both again ;)

Why may I ask. I've never really followed them to be honest but I haven't hear anything too bad...

Sonic games are better than Mario games.

Gaming is a hobby, not a religion.

Applying a value to a written review is useless. There are some "low-scoring" games that are better than some of the AAA hyped/budgeted games.

Many people are hell bent on complaining about anything, even it is minor.

Mirror's Edge looks better than Crysis, who cares if it's all baked lighting, it looks better.

FF8(draw was tedious) >> FF10 > FF7(unplayable on account of art sty1e or a huge flop in technical graphics for the time)

FFXIII was fun (if you didn't grind and were low level for encounters)

Infamous 2 looked like it deserved it's score (on GS).

TW2 has terrible combat (shallow, clunky, cheap), bad enough where I don't think it deserved the score it got (supposedly fix'd, or made better in the new 2.0, can't be bothered to update it)

I dislike clans. I just want to play the game, not engage in leaderboard e-peen wars. Making things worse, on PC, they're the ones who own the servers. Unfortunately, they've been infecting consoles for some time, so I'm stuck with them.

Half Life 2 is an average game. Mirror's Edge is highly overrated by the gaming community. There's more but I'm bored.

Yakuza 3 is the best PS3 exclusive. I enjoyed FFXIII I've had more fun with Wii sports than a lot of other games. Most multiplayer games are boring. Handhelds have some of the best games this gen. I enjoyed GTAIV. and probably some more I can't think of right now.soulitane

FFXIII had the best battle systems of all FFs

I like sonic games better than mario games, (the old ones at least) and Sonic Colors to me looks alot more fun than the mario games ive played, not bashing Mario though.

Zelda is kinda fun and all but I dont see why Its soo famous. It doesnt seem like it does anything special. But again not bashing Zelda. I like what I played.

RATCHET AND CLANK IS ONE OF THE BEST GAME FRANCHISES.

Console games pale in comparison to handheld games.

I'd rather that developers stop making home consoles and put every single game on the PC, a handheld or a tablet.

Just Cause 2 was by far last year's best game

Gears of War is absolutely terrible

God of War 3 was the worst in the series

Army of Two: The 40th Day is my favorite Coop game on the market

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is just as good as Uncharted 2 for different reasons

Alan Wake is the best game on the 360

MGS2 was a masterpiece, the story was not convoluted

Uncharted 2 looks better than God of War 3 and Killzone 3

Just Cause 2 was by far last year's best game

Call of Duty isn't fun. Neither is Battlefield.

In fact, multiplayer shooters aren't fun at all. I have no idea why people play them.

Mass Effect 2 ruined the franchise.

Man how sweet that game would've been if it had coop right? That is the one thing I can hope for from Just Cause 3, that would definitely pass Army of 2 as my favorite coop game!

Yeah but instead of focusing more on developing the singleplayer they just took time and money out of it for the MP. Brotherhood's SP was so forgettable compared to the first two.
