I'll make a actual list since this thread isn't dying:
Great 2D sprites look better than great 3D models
Even with poor/non-existent stories RPGs can still be good
Diablo 1/2/3 is a poor mans roguelike
Western developers were better than the Japanese in the 1980s and in some cases in the 1990s. However Western developers started trying too hard to appeal to everyone that they could, making their games worse (but there are still good western games).
Fans of WRPGs complain about JRPGs not evolving when WRPGs have gotten worse over the years because of "evolution"
First-person Dungeon Crawlers are better than any extremely cinematic RPG
Choices and consequences make RPGs better, but are not needed
(It depends on your definition of "Choices" and "Consequences." If you're talking about story elements, yes. If you're talking about gameplay elements, no. Games with choices + consequences in terms of gameplay are inherently better than those that are 100% linear and predetermined.)
Gamers complain too much about difficulty
Shadow Tower Abyss will always be the best From Software RPG
Atlus USA sold out
Old video games where you die in one hit are not broken, you just suck
There are very few cheap video games and situations that are actually cheap. Those who call a video game cheap are just insulting the game to "cover up" their loss.
Arcade games have more replayability than 98% of the games that come out today
System Wars does not hate everything that's popular, they only talk about popular games
JRPGs and WRPGs are not genres, this isn't even an opinion I'm just putting this here
(True... what constitutes an "RPG" is completely subjective. Also, just because something is Japanese doesn't make it a different genre)
Batman AA has terrible combat, mashing one button is not fun
(I've never played the game so I wouldn't know)
Persona 3/4 weren't good and Persona fans are just getting milked
Puzzles should only be in puzzle games
Fighting games don't need to be perfectly balanced
It doesn't matter if a game has some crappy moe art st yle
Hard difficulties in most games are just tacked on without any thought
I rather have no story than a story that's shoved down my throat
Blazblue fans are going to get milked just as bad as Street Fighter fans
Yearly releases are fine if the games are quality
(But usually they're not)
Adding collectibles for replay value is just lazy
Indie WRPGs are the best WRPGs these days
When you say "____ is the best ____ ever!" you need to play more games
Yangire
I bolded everything that I agree with. Sentences that are in a different color are my comments.
