looks like the average pc these days but with an added 100-200 for the video card. you could get the system for about 700ish.

Well the PS3 version runs at 120 fps on two HD TVs with 4d graphics. The 360 version runs at 30 fps.

I think it is lower because it doesn't require SM 3.0.

Yeah but I bet that spec wont run the game with all settings on highest, that and whats the point of buying a rig with that spec? It wouldn't be future proof.

You still don't need an uber rig to play it. This is good news for reasonable people.

If you can't tell smokeydabear is being sarcastic, making an obvious joke towards the people who think PC's cost in excess of 2 grand for the same level of graphics as a console, god help you.

no such thing as future proof in technology. a rig with that spec doesn't need to run the game at highest to look better than consoles.

Bull requirements. It suggestes 7800GTX for Nvidia and x1300 for ATI, even though 7800GTX is basically more than two times powerful. It should recommend 1950pro or 1950xt.

Yes it does.

Really in less than 1 min I found a faster system:

8800gts 320mb $280

P35 motherboard $100

Good memory for oc $100

E4400 oc's to 3GHz with stock hs for $130

That's only $620 with shipping with 3k I could build a system that would do 20k plus in 3dmark06 and make crysis run faster than my refresh rate.

edit those are all quality parts I could save a extra 150 bucks if I was cheap for the same speed.

2.4 Duo Core GHz + 7800 GTX isnt exactly low .....

I'm not suprised ... its just like Bioshock but more open and more detailed textures in some sense, its no where near Crysis , Demands wise.

Looks like this game will take $3,000 to run it.

Minimum System Requirements

  • Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista
  • 2.0+ GHZ Single Core Processor
  • 512 Mbytes of System RAM
  • NVIDIA 6200+ or ATI Radeon 9600+ Video Card
  • 8 GB of Free Hard Drive Space
Recommended System Requirements
  • 2.4+ GHZ Dual Core Processor
  • 1 GBytes of System RAM
  • NVIDIA 7800GTX+ or ATI x1300+ Video Card
  • 8 GB of Free Hard Drive Space
smokeydabear076
Quick question. Does Epic give any details on whether or not DirectX10 enhancement can influence the processor and/or GPU requirement? For example, an 8400GS is not the powerhouse of a 7800GTX, but unlike the latter it is a DX10 card, meaning it can support SM4 and various offloading techniques (provided the game is running in Vista). We already know UT3 will be DX10-enhanced, though we don't know exactly how, so if Epic doesn't say anything, what's your call? Would an 8400GS float closer to the minimum or toward the recommended?

Opps my sarcasm detector must be broken as I don't know you please you this /sarcasm ;)

I like quality but you could get the same speed for $150 less that's under $500 with shipping.

[QUOTE="smokeydabear076"][QUOTE="lespaul1919"]i would say thats wrong. the recommended should be minimum.smokeydabear076

Why?

because that is a low-end machine now.

So it is a good thing, but of course to you being able to play the game on high settings is a bad thing....right?

hell no. thats the way to go, but the recommended WONT run it on high with a decent framerate. for sure.

Prove it.

ok. my system is a bit better than the recommended. when the game comes out i will post screens with framerate on high settings.

i have a:

C2D E6300 @ 2.8
7900GT KO 512MB
2 GB PC6400

Does this look like a 3k system to you

Recommended System Requirements

  • 2.4+ GHZ Dual Core Processor
  • 1 GBytes of System RAM
  • NVIDIA 7800GTX+ or ATI x1300+ Video Card
  • 8 GB of Free Hard Drive Space

ChiChiMonKilla

Yes it does.

Really in less than 1 min I found a faster system:

8800gts 320mb $280

P35 motherboard $100

Good memory for oc $100

E4400 oc's to 3GHz with stock hs for $130

That's only $620 with shipping with 3k I could build a system that would do 20k plus in 3dmark06 and make crysis run faster than my refresh rate.

edit those are all quality parts I could save a extra 150 bucks if I was cheap for the same speed.

What about monitor (may need to switch to a DVI flat panel), hard drive (you may need to switch to SATA), and OS (if you want DX10 enhancement, you need Vista)? And what about case and/or power supply?

Why is everyone acting so surprised that the system requirements aren't extremely high???

When UT 2004 was released you didn't need a beafy rig to play it well, and you can play it now on any standard PC.

So what's with all the confusion??

It's really similar things as the previous installments.....

Got em. Yes.

Now what's the PS3 version's framerate? What's the 360's?

smokeydabear076

Well the PS3 version runs at 120 fps on two HD TVs with 4d graphics. The 360 version runs at 30 fps.

120fps!...lol no ps3 runs on 60fps

Mmm no, mark rein said it will be locked at 30fps.

No but everyone knows that its always best to exceed Recommended specs anyway- particularly in the RAM department- also if u want the best visuals its good to have an even more powerul Graphics card.

most PCs these days are so full of junk they lose performance.

I already have all of those, as do most PC gamers. The only things that require upgrading are the things he listed and the PSU sometimes. And if you're going to include the price of a monitor and all that extra stuff, include the price of an HDTV, XBL, accessories, extra controllers, andmore expensive games in the cost of a 360 or another console.
