Yeah ebay, theres some decent HDTVs for under $500 there, cheap doesn't necessarily mean poor quality. And while we're at it theres a well reviewed Olevia 27" for right at 500 on Newegg and I didn't even check elsewhere. Thats not even taking into account the talk of cheap as dirt HDTVs come black friday this year (LCDs in particular have been dropping around 40% on a yearly basis).

HDDs were expensive as hell for a decade or more themselves.

Where did I mention used? There are a ton of authorized sellers on Ebay you know and OEM parts are probably more comparable to "used" PC parts than Open Box, just due to OB parts rarity. OB parts are more comparable to parted out TVs for instance.

Really how could you with a tiny hdtvsitting far away with poor vision ??

I guess my curse is I have 20/10 vision and these things really bother me so I try to find the best picture possible, get good cables and calibrate my hdtv, then program settings for the type of media/signal/program I am watching.I might seem obsessive to some but I don't care I love the results.

Than what? A Wii? A 360? A PS3? All 3? I'd say the only definitely cheaper one is the Wii.

Sometimes computers are much cheaper than console gaming, especially with things like online fees, higher software costs on consoles and HDTVs. Obviously this thread proves that, because the recommended requirements for UT3, a great looking game, are very reasonable.

i don't even plan on buying ut3, atleast not for the game itself... seriously, ut2k4 was boring compaired to halo 2 and uc2 (a shooter/fighter with actual intensity). i got h3, y get ut3??? i'm sure i'll buy it for the mod possibilities on pc, but i HIGHLY doubt it'll crack my gaming rotation of h3, css, madden, and the far more intense gears. hopefully we won't have to wait for more fast paced action and uc3 will come out within a year. i can't wait!

the spec is really decent for a Unreal Engine game. My pc will have no problem runing this game then. I have 2gb ram and a Nvidia 7900GTX.joeychew

Judging by how GeoW played, I just can't see this turning out great. I hope I'm wrong, but the UE3 engine just feels "heavy". Kinda like how the Doom 3 engine destroyed the Quake 3 feeling in Quake 4.

:lol: I hope your joking, I can understand that you like Halo 2 more and hate UT04 but UT04 a MP only game got a 9.4 on GS same as Halo 2 a SP/MP game, and PC FPS standerds are higher on GS

What does this have to do with Gears of War? I know you like Quake Wars , I hated Quake 1/2/3/4 .. but I love Quake Wars , I dont see why theme should harm the enjoyment ;)

Umm....exactly what did you find boring about UT 2004? The graphics were amazing and I thought the gameplay could be extremely intense and very competitive, no matter what mode you played. Be it standard DM in confined levels, CTF in all it's forms, instagib, ONS with all the vehicles and tteleport points between power node bases, heck, some of the assault levvels were absolutely epic!!!!

The assault on the mothership alone was like the final level on some crazy save the world from destruction game, as you fly your fighters around in dogfights, avoid the turrets, watch as earth's surface is being covered in massive explosions, all the while you are trying to take out the shild generators to dock inside the thing and take it out on foot.

The mod support alone is a great reason to get this game, if the fat that it is almost the perfect online FPS.
