My new PC will have a field day with UT2007....

My current one would hardly run it.

$3000 PC= 8800GTX, C2D, 2GB DDR2 RAM.trizzle_a

That's not even close to $3000. Try sub $1000.

Does this look like a 3k system to you

Recommended System Requirements

  • 2.4+ GHZ Dual Core Processor
  • 1 GBytes of System RAM
  • NVIDIA 7800GTX+ or ATI x1300+ Video Card
  • 8 GB of Free Hard Drive Space

HuusAsking

Yes it does.

Really in less than 1 min I found a faster system:

8800gts 320mb $280

P35 motherboard $100

Good memory for oc $100

E4400 oc's to 3GHz with stock hs for $130

That's only $620 with shipping with 3k I could build a system that would do 20k plus in 3dmark06 and make crysis run faster than my refresh rate.

edit those are all quality parts I could save a extra 150 bucks if I was cheap for the same speed.

What about monitor (may need to switch to a DVI flat panel), hard drive (you may need to switch to SATA), and OS (if you want DX10 enhancement, you need Vista)? And what about case and power supply? If that P35 is a BTX type, it's not going to be a simple switcheroo.

Again here are quality parts that will last:

SLI case overkill $80

SLI psu overkill $125

Vista ultimate overkill $180

2ms response time 22" lcd overkill $320

These are all parts that you can keep upgrade after upgrade the monitor is what I use there is no ghosting like you get with cheap sub $200 20+" lcd's or you could get a huge crt. When you buy quality you spend more up front but save in the long run the monitor is not something I would go cheap on cause that determines video quality no matter what's in your rig.

You can get vista home for $112 the rest I would keep but most pc gamers already have these things and a couple spares laying around so I don't need them. You could build a gaming rig that plays everything for less than the price of a good HDTV.

That's actually surprisingly good. It doesn't look like it will take an expensive machine to run it, but maybe to run it well.

nope. and i LOVE how people say the beta isn't optimized at all...and the quake wars beta runs the same as the final game on my PC.

i have

E6300 @ 2.8
7900GT KO 512MB
2 GB PC6400 RAM

that is a decent amount better than recommended, and there is no way im running this game on high and getting good FPS.

What do you mean by a "good HDTV"? Because there are pretty nice-sized models going for under a grand. And I don't count 1080p HDTVs because HDTV doesn't support 1080p60.

But they get the job done. That's the whole point. For those on a budget, this lets them know if their machine can play the game at all. And for some of them, minimum specs may do just fine if they don't require super-high resolutions, maximum detail, or every mod under the sun.

Wow....those are pretty reasonable. I'd say that a pc like this (runs on reccomended)today, from a decent retailer here in Canada would cost roughly 1500....1800 max.

Now what's the PS3 version's framerate? What's the 360's?

Well the PS3 version runs at 120 fps on two HD TVs with 4d graphics. The 360 version runs at 30 fps.

Why would anybody who's buying a HDTV not get a 1080p set??

But it's hard (almost impossible unless it's open box/refurbished) to find a good 40" 8ms 720p hdtv for under 1k.

Actually it isn't. Its basically saying that you have no way to prove anything you just said. You are just using the lowest form of intelligence (assumption) and acting like its a fact. The fact is you don't know how its going to run so until then don't come to me saying OMG GETTING TEH ZOMG 15 FPS ON HIGH SETTINGS IN UT3 WHEN IT ISN'T EVEN OUT !!!! crap.

Well not everyone out there is a graphics addict. I know plenty of people that are going to be happy that they can play this game regardless of the settings. I would also like to note that through the years people have learned to adapt to certain situations. When Lespaul can't run the game at high on his PC it might be smart to tone down the resolution or some other graphical settings. Increase the performance at the expense of some graphical fidelity. Only unreasonable people would ***** about something like that. Thats why I don't act like OMG Bioshock looks better on my PC then the 360 its teh big deal!!

Why do people that the requirements will be so high? The Unreal3 engine runs great on consoles so far and my mid-range pc for $500 is somewhat more powerful then my x360.

Yes that is what I am saying.

You know, it's much cheaper if you buy the parts separately off great e-tailers like newegg and install everything yourself.

That's the lowest I've seen for an UE3 game. Great!

I can't believe the "recommended" requirements only call for 1 gig of RAM. And a 7800? These recommended sys requirements are amazingly low, and the minimum ones are absurdly low (512 RAM? 6200?). I'd expect even Gears of War PC to call for a stronger rig than this. UT3 isn't looking any worse than Gears, either. Impressive stuff by Epic.

I remember a long time ago they said that a 6800 ultra would run the game on high, although it probably won't it is nice to see that the specs are this low and gives me hope for my old gaming PC making a comeback.

[QUOTE="smokeydabear076"]No I mean right now.lespaul1919

that is basically saying you know im right. i get 15 frames a second on the crysis beta on high. should be about the same for UT3. maybe less.

Crysis Renders alot better graphics & distance and effects that UT ... and Physics...
