Having no games and having an AD promoting a specific feature is 2 completely different things. The X1 will have plenty of games as well as the features in the commercial. The PS3 had NO GAMES.

The only joke are cows. Complaining about a commercial for a product they never planned on buying. A commercial targeted at a specific audiance for feature they would most likely be interested in. I'm sure MS doesn't have any other commercials planned.
I understand why they might have made this commercial, but wonder if they may have thought it out fully. It's not like you couldn't do this on your phone, PC, or your TV to some degree. It is pointless to show this feature since it has been around forever in some way or form but I guess NFL being in the commercial especially during this time will catch people's eye.
The NFL fans and casuals M$ are targeting with this ad might be interested in these features but none of them are going to spend $500 + Tax just to do something they can already do with their cellphones, PDAs and laptops. The XBone is a games console first and all this does is alienate the hardcore gamers that would actually spend $500 + Tax on a console at launch.
Even by Kotaku standards this is incredibly sh1tty reporting. It was an Xbox + NFL ad to air during NFL games. They're not going to randomly throw Ryse and Halo into it. It's about NFL.

Ok, dislikes and likes on Youtube are as important as fixing the economy by looking to the sky for money to fall out of it, lol. Second, the Xbox One can turn the HD-TV you already have into a smart tv with voice/and motion controls, and well as play next gen gaming. It does what a number of devices do, but none of those devices do what one Xbox One does. That's the point. And for a number of people being able to access all of that from one device that is also for gaming is appealing. I have no doubt MS will flood the world with gaming commercials, more entertainment feature commercials and combo commercials for both. Since the system does more than just game, its only common sense they would advertise it more than one way. Can you be that simple minded as to not be able to see that?

There doesn't need to be new 'technology' as you put it. Its all in the software. As an all in one device, there is nothing out there to compete with the XOne.
