I don't even ridicule Sony anymore. What's the point? They made their own bed on this one and deserve last place.

Hanging out here and picking on an industry giant was all interesting up until they made a joke of themselves and ran the games division into the ground with hubris and contempt for the consumers. What can any of us say that's more embarrassing to them than what they have done to themselves???

If MGS4 and Resistence 2 couldn't turn this around given that they were released in the same year then nothing can.

Killzone 2 and GoW 2 isn't going to change that magically.

For all the people that say "PS3 only has to do A and B to win", as if something could "win" that easily, you need to wake up because this isnt a fairy tale, it is already to late.

The PS3 will be lucky if it can retain 50% of the marketshare the PS2 held last gen.

If Sony can get a $299 PS3 on the market next year PS3 will be fine. PS3 has an awesome lineup of games coming Sony is going to own next year. I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft announces the new Xbox next year because of all the domination they will be getting from PS3!jakarai

I don't think so the nail is the cost sony has alot of exclusives that people want like MGS 4 and Little big Planet and killzone and they have alot of 360 games like Ninja Gaiden "which btw I always wanted to be on PS 3" and Bioshock and Saints Row it's not about the games the PS 3 has a way better library than 360 I mean they have games coming out in 09 360 doesnt have anything its the cost alone thats doing them harm.

Keep lying to yourselves guys. Fact of the matter is: PS3 is in last place as of RIGHT NOW. Little stints where they did good don't matter...AT ALL. The bottom line is what matters and PS3 is selling the least, pushing less software, and is still overpriced. The PS3 was a dud from the beginning. Are these results surprising in any way?? NO.

A person that doesn't even have intrest in video game can explain this to you. Cows, being the Sony faithful loses. No Hardware Sales = Less First Quality First Party Games. Less First Party Games = First Party Games Turns into Third Party Games.or abandon all together. Low concentration of Game Sales = Less Hardware. Less Hardware Sales = Less Games. Less Games = Little Fanbase. Doesn't Matter how good the game is, if there is nobody buying the game it is put to risk of being at being third party, not being released at all, or getting a sequel let alone a quality sequel. I think the WSJ and CNN etc... need to keep their stupid faces out of Video Games. Seriously these guys probably have never picked up a controller in their lives. PS3 has a GREAT lineup for 2009. It won't put them in the lead but it'll make them resurrect a bitacsguitar

Do you understand what the Wall Street Journal is? Do you understand what CNN does? They don't even have to know what a video game system is to do their jobs which is one report news and for the other assess financials.
