It was better than 2 imo. Better story and bosses.[QUOTE="Wiimotefan"]
I also think MGS4 is only average at best and garbage when compared to the rest of the series. This actually seems to be the popular opinion everywhere but System Wars though.
TopTierHustler
1 and 3 were way better and it didn't deserve a 10.
Another unpopular opinion of mine... MGS2 is the best followed VERY closely by MGS3 lol.
For about a year I felt 3 was better, but after burning both games into the ground I find myself still getting more enjoyment out of 2. It has the most focused gameplay and level design in the series as far as stealth is concerned. I agree on the bosses though, MGS2 was pretty weak in that aspect.

OMG. I will not forgive this. The end >> any other moment in the series.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is the best game in the franchise as well as the best shooter in a long time
deangallop
I was really thinking of buying it.
Two questions: Does it have a good campaign? and if I go into multiplayer now with a level 1 character will I get stomped?
The campaign is godly.
One warning though: The action is a lot more immediate and accessible than previous GR games. This to me is a good thing, as the old GR's felt a bit archaic at times.
The campaign has a lot of variety in it's gameplay. Stealth is still extremly important in the game, many of the missions require no alerts for example. The gameplay is fantastic, whether skulking around in camo suits or full on action shooting. There is just so much variety, and each level has something new to show in terms of gameplay. Sync Shots are fantastic and can make clearing out a room or area a bit like an intense puzzle on how best to clear out the room (The campaign has a scoring system so killing cleanly rewards you well)
The locals are amazingly detailed and brimming with life, quite odd for a GR game. Also, the campaign has 4 player co-op, which is really fun on harder levels when you want to get a perfect score. There's also Guerrilla mode, which is GR's take on Horde, but much more unique than most copies, as it has actual objectives.
Multiplayer is also fantastic. It's extremly brutal, but your level 1 will be fine considering the huge amount of teamwork I've seen online and more than servicible guns on offer.
Sorry that turned into quite a long para. But I love this game. I highly suggest you buy it.
Oh boy, where do I start:
I think Metroid Prime 3 is better than 1 and 2
Zatch Bell! Mamodo Battles is one of my all time favorite fighting games, surpassing Super Smash Bros Brawl, Mortal Kombat II and Street Fighter Alpha 2, but defeated by Tekken 3/5 and Soul Calibur II
I like some Sonic games many consider bad, they are: Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic Riders 1, Sonic and the Secret Rings, and Sonic and the Black Knight. Perhaps Sonic Advance and Sonic Rush if those count.
Same with Star Fox games: Adventures and Assault
Don't get me started on 3D Mortal Kombat games: Deadly Alliance, Deception, Armageddon
So far, I'm liking Skyward Sword A LOT more than Twilight Princess
The Wii versions of both Force Unleashed games are a hell of a lot of fun
I normally couldn't care less on what system I get my multiplats on, so even though Splinter Cell is most prefered on XBOX systems, I love playing the first on GameCube.
The GameCube controller isn't bad with dual-analog shooters (first or third).

That's it for now.

Oh I agree. I used to keep a save file right before that fight (well I kept save files for every area of the game on every difficulty medium and above lol)...
The End was an amazing fight. So many ways to go about it and even ways to avoid it. One of my favorite boss fights in gaming.
Oh and one more unpopular opinion from me.
I never liked the GTA games. :P
I think they're outstanding technical achievements. GTAIV blew me away. I just get bored with them so quickly.
I like Star Fox Adventures.
I like Sonic Heroes.
mitu123
Yeah, Sonic Heroes is pretty good, but I needed cash and sold it. I wonder if I still have Adventures too... Those race sections really kicked my butt, and the aiming was horrible, I also lost a save I had pretty far into the game, I played with other people in that file so it was a lot more bearable, and help is always good in those, before mentioned, racing levels.
This is a nice chance of speed from all the crazy fanboy gargle that normally goes on here.
-Call of Duty is still great
-Final Fantasy XIII is the best post-VI Final Fantasy(excluding X because I haven't played it yet. That'll change once the HD rerelease comes out)
-Final Fantasy III is awesome
-Majora's Mask is the best Zelda
-Grand Theft Auto IV is the best game in the franchise by a long shot
-Red Dead Redemption isn't all that
-Half-Life 2 is an underwhelming shooter that just piggy-backs on the success of it's revolutionary predecessor
-Resident Evil 5 was fine
-Final Fantasy VII is the worst of the franchise(only counting main series) and all the characters in it are sh*t
-Metal Gear Solid 2 is better than anything else Kojima has ever or will ever do
-Dance Central is f*cking amazing
-Crysis 2 > Crysis and Crysis Warhead
-Counter-Strike is a terrible shooter
-Saint's Row The Third is the best game this generation
-Mortal Kombat destroys all other fighting games
-I don't think Halo has good gameplay
-Kingdom Hearts is a terrible series
-Far Cry 2 > Far Cry
-Rhythm Heaven Fever is the best thinig to grace the Wii(not a diss towards Wii having no good games because it does, Rhythm Heaven is just awesome)
-Metroid: Other M is the way that franchise needs to go presentation wse(the gameplay wasn't as good as it should have been)
-Audio is more important that visuals
-Fallout 3 has a better atmosphere than New Vegas(New Vegas is still a better game though)
-There is nothing wrong with DLC
-The multimediaising of consoles is a good thing
-Motion controls are a fantastic idea
-World of Warplanes will be the superior WoW
-Persona 3 > Persona 4
-PSP had better games than the DS
-Smartphone games are still games
-Xenoblade Chronicles gets old really quickly
-Alpha Protocol is just as good as the first Mass Effect
-Battlefield 3 is the worst Battlefield
-LA Noire is underrated, not overrated
-Skylanders is hella cool
-Valve ain't all that
-PopChips are delicious:P
That's probably enough for now.
i enjoy the sp of cod mw 2
i prefer dantes look from dmc4 then hisolder look from dmc3
i prefer fear 2 over the first one
i enjoy midway's mk shaoloin monks,area 51,and stranglehold
Valve are gods.
The Sims 3 is really great.
Mass Effect 2 is my GOTY for 2010 along side Transformers: War for Cybertron.
The most boring genres to me are strategy, racing, sims (excluding the Sims), and sports.
I like the FPS genre.
Fallout (the original) is a very old game...so old I don't think I can play it anymore just because of how ancient it is (not a bad game just hard to really play nowadays).
I think with a little effort, OnLive could maybe be something. I mean, come on...30 Minute Free Trials and the spectating other games as well as those features? Sweet.
Portal 2 was a little bit more difficult than the first game. Not by much but a little bit.
I focus on the GAME aspect of Team Fortress 2 and have no clue why the hell the hat thing is such a big deal. Seriously...why...Why....WHY!?
If I could buy a console I would buy a PS3.
That's it for now.
I find funny that after reading 8 pages I didn't read A SINGLE THING I could say I agree with and I'm not the type of guy that goes with the mainstream opinion very often. I mean, one of my favorite franchises is Yakuza and no one likes it but I feel like most of you just hate on things because you don't understand them and others just because they want to go against the grain.
- Blur is a better online multiplayer game then mario kart
DJ_Headshot
I think everyone agrees with this. The game is superb online, Mario Kart 7 was weak in terms of online. Didn't even have leaderboards! The whole Ghost thing was pretty cool, but otherwise it was a dissapointing online segment.
Dreamcast was the greatest console ever.
GBA was the best handheld ever.
All "modern" video games are crap.
The best games are 2D.
"Indie" games are overrated, lazy garbage trying to hard too be cool.
Any one who plays video games and is older than 21 years of age is an enormous loser.
E-Sports is the stupidest thing that has ever come out of video games ever.
"Gaming" is a moronic term and any one who uses it is a huge tool and loser.
Actually a lot, hard to list them all, but to give some examples:
I enjoyed JPRGs more this gen than wrpgs
I thing Dynasty warriors is super and the best possible way to put beat em ups in a 3D world
I had more fun with the games on my Vita than on my 3DS
Xenoblades is horrible
Everyone who doesn't think MGS4 is the best game ever made, should clearly state that as that automatically gives you an unpopular gaming opinion.
Glad to see not many of posted this ! :D
Unpopular gaming opinions I may have:
Xfire >> Steam
[QUOTE="DerpyMcDerp"]very True Amnesia, Bastion, and Super Meat Boy sure aren't overrated."Indie" games are overrated, lazy garbage trying to hard too be cool.
hippiesanta
[QUOTE="D4W1L4H"]wat Lol, hats? Maybe he meant TF 2 :PGTA IV was way too hatcentric.
princeofshapeir
Might as well.
Conviction's direction improved the SC franchise.
GTA4 is the best GTA.
MW3 is the best COD.
Final Fantasy 13 is awesome.
GOW3 was meh.
ODST is my favorite Halo game(didn't play 1/2)
Dead Island is the best zombie game out there.
Uncharted 1,2 overrated. Never played the third.
Based on gamespot forums: GTA4 is the best game to me this gen.
Brink is a very good game.
Valve games are overrated.
F.E.3.R is better then the first and the second.
Silent Hill Homecoming was a blast.
Medal of Honor 2010 had a awesome campaign and multiplayer.
Red Dead Redemption is not boring.
BioShock 2 is better than the first in nearly every aspect.
Metroid Prime 2 is the best of the Prime games.
Mirror's Edge fully deserved its 6.5 score. It's just not a really good game.
Still a lot of indie games are nothing more than proof-of-concept or 2D platformers with a twist and sometimes barely worth the small investment required to play them.
Oblivion has a fantastic game world.
Skyrim's combat, despite being simplistic, works very well in the game, and I wouldn't really desire much change.
Cryostasis has the best story in a video game ever (from what I've played).
Far Cry 2 is NOT the antichrist.
STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl vanilla is still a great game.
Age of Empires III with expansions is better than its predecessors.
FUEL and Test Drive: Unlimited 2 are both great racing games.
Need For Speed: Underground was terrible and effectively killed the series.
Ah, that feels good.

Gue1
True but it is a fact that "some" of the things people have said in this thread I agree with.
ON TOPIC:
-Sega leving the console industry is the reason why (for the most part) quality of gaming has gone down and a big reason nintendo dosen't compete anymore.
-xbox was a better gaming system than xbox360
-Blinx was the best original franchise MS ever created and one of the best platformers made last gen with equal quality to jak on PS2.
-Halo 2 is a horrible game with crap graphics and half assed production value.
-both xbox360 and PS3 had horrible lauches with nothing really worth playing for the first year or two.
-MGS2 is the most perfect example of a flawless game in concept, story and design, and is the best game in the MGS franchise.
