I forsee people trying to avoid answering this because the list would be embarrassing and chock full of games Sony didn't actually develop (publishing doesn't count).

Hi.
Returnal has a higher score than Dread
Returnal is more challenging than Dread
Returnal doesn't look like an app
Before asking for 5 games, you first need to have more than one game coming out on your system in a whole year. You waited a whole year for a $60 side scroller that everyone has beaten in the first 1-2 days. Would you agree with me that this is just sad? Please tell me how you feel.
GT:S learning curve is pretty deep yet satisfying that even 4 years later you still see lobby of full capacity high rating driver duking it out everyday on track. Really can't wait for GT7 improvements over the online modes and new tracks to push my limits.
You rarely see this in simcade titles heck idk if others have as much population after 1 year. Usually reserved for full blown sim titles.

lmao you're going to put this two hour long, one dimensional rogue like trash as the best Sony gameplay ever?
Pitiful.
Lol, Sony and deep gameplay? Just doesn’t exist. Their games are shat.
The Cows know it.
This is why there is no list and the only game mentioned came from an indie developer before Sony bought them.
This may be the most damaging thread in SW history.
Silence here is deafening.

Two hours long? You sure you're not mixing it with Dread🤭Sorry to break it to you, but Dread looks like junk in comparison. I understand that this is not what you want to hear, but i am done playing games. Returnal shits on Dread🤷♂️Its that simple.
You will not see anything at a level of Returnal on the Switch in the next 10-15 years🤷♂️
You listed one game (instead of 5) that nobody gives a crap about that Sony never developed.
This how low the Cows have sunk.
Trying to pretend their automated junk they play is good when even they know it sucks.
SMH
So we name games and you'll respond with "derp derp bad game derp derp", even for you this is really pathetic trolling.
So you're embarrassed to list the games?
I think it's a combination of that and having nothing to list.
I feel bad for the Cows here.
I'm going to check in the morning to see if the Cows nutted up and stopped make excuses for having no gameplay.
@casey-wegner: Lets be clear. You made this thread because you keep telling yourself that Dread is super challenging, and that Sony doesn't have anything like that. So there's only one example that you've given (happen to be the only game that came out on your system in 2021 as well🤭), so i gave you just one game, Returnal. Harder. Longer. Veinier.
You want another example? Okay. GoW2018. On normal its a challenging game for journos and casuals such as yourself. On Give Me God Of War, its arguably the most challenging AAA title of the previous generation. If you consider Dread as a difficult game, you would be hardstuck in the tutorial of GoW2018😆😆😆
The Last of Us: Part II has perfected third person gameplay and has the best gunplay/stealth/shooter/action mechanics of any game, only exception perhaps being Metal Gear Solid V. its 11/10 gameplay with 11/10 story. Most games with 9/10 gameplay have a 5/10 story (or worse) this is 11 in both categories. Which is Incredible.
God of War - one of the best swordplay (or axeplay in this case) combat of any game. its no where near as good as Sekiro, but then again nothing else is. about on par with DS3/bloodborne/DMC5, and I would say its better than them if only it had greater enemy variety.
Uncharted 4 - In terms of TPS combat/gameplay, there aren't many games that best UC4. TLOU2, MGS5, and what else? its close to perfection as well. Not as good as my two other contenders which were best in class and reference, but UC4 gameplay is easily on the same level as Gears.
@casey-wegner: everything you said about Returnal is absolutely wrong.
He is mine. Don't touch him.
Good lord. Look, I agree Naughty Dog is way overrated, but Sony has some great studios and franchises. My list is mostly older stuff, but that's just because I never got a PS4:
Motorstorm
Twisted Metal
Rachet and Clank (and come'on, a Nintendo fan should enjoy these games)
Starhawk
Infamous
I mean, there are more than 5 Gran Turismo games, so I guess that. Maybe Demons Souls and Bloodborne as well.
And no, a poor man's RoR2 is not it xD
Sony published those games but they never developed them.
So you are left with a car game lesser than Forza.
In all Sony history.

It's a pretty bleak list but you went with the best Sony has, though I would swap Star-hawk with Warhawk.
Sony really is a b-class developer in gameplay terms unfortunately. Most of these games are old as well showing the continued decline.
Poor Casey, has nothing to play on his Switch so now he's asking about Sony games 😄
Literally playing Dread rn, and coming on here to troll Cows because it's so much better than their cinematic trash.
@casey-wegner: you're here because Dread is only a 10 hour game at best and you paid $60 for it 😁
Lets be more accurate here. Its an 8h long game.

Someone who has obviously never played Dread.
You want challenging?
- Uncharted (any) on crushing
- Warhawk (PS3)
- Twisted Metal 2 or Black
- Horizon ZD on hard
- Ghost of Tsushima
- The Last of Us (either)
- God of War
See... here's the thing about buying into the "movie game" BS here on system wars. Those games can definitely be easy walking simulators... IF you play on easy. Or... they can be holy hell difficult if you play at harder difficulties. The challenge and engagement level is up to the player. I'm willing to bet those calling all Sony games nothing but movie games or walking simulators never upped the difficulty and decided to go easy street, then b**ch about their experience.

I'm willing to bet that they never played them and are jelly that they haven't played them 😄
What's interesting here is that the only games that had decent gameplay tied to Playstation were never made by Sony. Games like MGSV and Bloodborne.
Cinematic trash like GOW, Uncharted, and TLOU are walking sims and shallow as a rain puddle.
Nintendo published Metroid Dread. Mercury Steam made it.
What's different between Metroid Dread and say Sly Cooper or Ratchet & Clank which are deep and challenging?
Nintendo EPD co developed Dread, and Dread is one game we're discussing here.
I can list an onslaught of Nintendo games with better gameplay than anything Sony has ever made.

He is trying very hard to convince himself that Sony sucks 🤣

Ok, list me every single Nintendo developed game in 2020-2021 that's not:
Because I swear I can list more Sony developed games in that same time period.
Im not sure I understand what TC means by Sony Developed. Is it first party studios? Or does Sony Japan have to make it?
1. Returnal - the game is pure gameplay, I figured this is the game everyone wanted Sony to help make
2. Ghost of Tsushima - I had a great experience with this on normal, some of the boss fights were challenging, didn't even play on Hard
3. God Of War 2018 - Give me God of War mode nuff said
4. Shadow of the Colossus - Again, another game that is pure gameplay, do yourself a favor and don't look up video walkthroughs to figure out the bosses, you'll find a challenge here if you stay away from spoilers.
5. Rachet and Clank - might not be hard, but it's a pure fun gameplay experience just like any Mario game is.
Just because a game isn't Dark Souls hard doesn't mean the game doesn't have deep or engaging gameplay. Most of the games I listed have Difficulty settings so you can adjust it to your playing level; which I think is a good thing as this helps keep games accessible for people of all skill levels.
I think Nintendo games like Mario and Zelda have fantastic and deep gameplay but I wouldn't consider them hard. Not every game has to be Monster Hunter, Persona, or Dark Souls.
Sheesh

Definitely. God of War and TLOU2 are by no means the hardest games I've ever played, but they were by no means easy.
