I mean look at this, this thing, its bigger than the PS Vita:

Lolz @ comic.
When I have one in hand, I'll let you know what I think. Knee-jerk impression: doubt it will supplant the gamepad as the controller of choice.
EDIT: Is it confirmed to have no analog in the sticks+triggers? The units they showed @ E3 2011 were confirmed to lack analog, just curious to know if anything had changed.
You've used it extensively, I take it?charizard1605
Look at it...
You do not have to touch **** to know it is ****... Just look at it.
Who cares? It's optional. There will be backwards compatibility with the classic controller and nunchuck.

Everyone who has used one and played one- something you haven't done- have stated that it feels incredibly and is very comfortable. So yes, I will question his and your opinion until you have actually played with one to pass any judgement on it.Yep, that's what sucks the most about the Wii-U. Yes, there is backwards compatibility with the nunchuck, but people would want to take advantage of this new controller than going back to play with the old one, no?

What a terrible comparison :?Pay $400 to play Wii games?

This reminds me of the exact same arguments that were being made against the 3DS and its use of 3D back when it launched...Yep, that's what sucks the most about the Wii-U. I'll use it for one reason.
Walk through the streets, holding it out in front of me,pointed at chicks and I'll say "I can see your underwear now".

Well the 3DS did not have a great launch... After Oot there was some justification of a purpose... People who pulled it on the 3DS bragged about playing DS games and brought the comparison.
It is funny how you left out his comment which baited my response.

Prices have not been announced for ALL countries. You're pulling numbers out of your ass.
That, and I never said anything about playing Wii games exclusively on the Wii U.

I mean Nintendo PR could have influenced reception... When I look at the controller I think of body builders.
Yes, that is what I meant, Nintendo needs to differentiate its products better, especially if we are already having a repeat with the Wii U. I left out his comment because multiquoting does that. It only takes one quote per quote chain, or your HTML will be messed up.Well the 3DS did not have a great launch... After Oot there was some justification of a purpose... Kids? Where do kids come in? The only time this system and its controller were available to the public was last E3, and everyone who played one liked it and praised it. Yes, you can start stating conspiracy theories, but then I've got plenty for you as well... for instance, how many of those Xbox 360 sales come from replacements for RRoD?So kids love lifting that gargantuan beast or are you pulling that out your ***.

Have you held the controller in your hands yet?
super600
I do not know if I would try... As I would attempt to grip that humongous device it would escape my grip and smash to the ground... The screen would break and I would be forced to buy another $150 dollar controller for the big N.
And yet, I will bet you this, right here and right now, I would bet this account on it if I had to, the Wii U will be the go to hardcore and casual console next generation.charizard1605
[QUOTE="Banjo_Kongfooie"]Well if you bring up RROD that is like me bringing up Wii users smashing tvs with their remotes. The next Xbox will actually have a controller you can game on... The next playstation will use the same decent controller probably. The Wii U will be using a Mastodon hunk of plastic with a screen in the middle. charizard1605And yet, I will bet you this, right here and right now, I would bet this account on it if I had to, the Wii U will be the go to hardcore and casual console next generation, all the while Microsoft chases some nebulous Kinect/Windows 8 fusion based Entertainment Box in Your Living Room concept with their Xbox 720, and Sony tries to dig itself out of the hole it dug for itself this gen.
Lmao I would rather play Superman 64 on a normal controller than play Ocarina of Time on the Wii U controller to put things in perspective... That is how utterly terrible the Wii U controller is.

Because again, you've played the thing to know how it is. But go on, be a narrow minded fanboy, we'll see who's laughing in a couple of years from now.[QUOTE="charizard1605"] And yet, I will bet you this, right here and right now, I would bet this account on it if I had to, the Wii U will be the go to hardcore and casual console next generation.rasengan2552

Unlike the 3DS which is a pretty good design. (I am not a fanboy because I support the 3DS and Vita along with the 360).
The Wii U looks like a terrible terrible piece of machinarey... Why did they think the controller was a good idea who knows... Maybe Nintendo want the Wii U to fail so they can make 3rd party games for consoles and 1st part for consoles.
It looks big. When you hold it it feels very natural, not bulky at all. If it's too big just break it in two.
Yeah it looks really uncomfortable. :?PeredithComfortable, ergonomic things usually don't *look* comfortable at all. Case in point: the Gamecube gamepad
That they could tap into a new market of tablet devices and bring about another innovation for the home console market. You know, good business strategy and an attempt to freshen up the industry.foxhound_foxNot to mention now you esentially have a giant Nintendo DS, and the DS had some games that really used the two screens creatively. I cannot imagine the Wii-U Tablet would be any more uncomfortable to hold than say a Vita, remember there is no actual hardware (I specifically mean graphics card, processor, and memory) so I can imagine it will be fairly light or at the very least the same weight as the Vita or 3DS. As for the circle pad placement, if you think about it, it makes more sense where they are as it looks like your thumbs will naturally come to rest on them with how you hold the controller. If they were swapped with the D-pad and Face Buttons respectively then your thumbs would have to be a weird angle to use them.

Gamecube's controller was not a mountain.
I can not wait until SCE announces their "Dualschock screen 4" just to see the reactions of Sony fanboys.

They might, Microsoft will not make a behemoth controller when the 360 one is well recieved.
I just hope they show a better re-design of this thing at E3 or beforehand. It might be nice to use right now as people have said but to me there looks like a huge waste of space of either side of the contoller. I dont know, make the analog sticks and d-pad a bit bigger to start with.
I think the controller will become standard next gen. The screen adds so much as far as new gameplay opportunities are concerned.
It opens up new possibilities which is a good thing.
We don't want 3 companies doing the same thing right?
