What is so special graphically about Crysis 2 (On consoles) and Rage?

I'm the only one that finds that the much cleaner look of Killzone 3 compared to Killzone 2 is due to to avoid complex shaders and postproccess efects to reduce the tax to the hardware in order to be able to run in 3D? Seems also that the environment are way less interactive (steel and iron are harder to break than concrete and marble).

Nice observation. I'd also like to point out that there are even metal objects in Crysis 2 that can deform and break. @ 0:50

1. Rage is being made by id. id revolutionizes engine tech nearly every time they release a new engine.

2. Rage is basically open world.

3. It runs at 60 FPS, double that of KZ3 and Crysis 2 on consoles.

4. Megatexture tech is absolutely incredible and it should become the industry standard.

WTF?KZ3 is basically one oil refinery with snow all around you,without that much post processing as KZ2 and without HDR.It has great animations but it does nothing much better than Crysis 2 and RAGE.The proof is that according to SW Crysis 2 and RAGE >=KZ3,and that is also opinion of press who were at E3,more were blown away by C2 and RAGE.Crysis 2 has better lightning than both of them,its much more chaotic,it has alot more polys pushed onto screen in comparison with KZ3 and still manages to look more impressive to general public,you failed ;)
