What is the reason console users don't game on their PC?

[QUOTE="tehsystemwarior"][QUOTE="bigM10231"]but most of those xbox games are now 30$ or lower and buying brand new all the time isnt my thing

bigM10231

I can get hundreds of games off steam right now for less then $10. Give me any game, and I bet you can get it cheaper on steam.

but its best to have the physical copy just in case of a HDD crash and will likely last longer

15 years from now I ca log into my steam account and re-download all my games for free. 15 years from now your mom will have thrown them out. What if you move your xbox when its running? Say good bye to your disk.

Then Back up the steam games to a disk or just re download them if your hdd crashes. Really stop arguing about this without doing research about what you are arguing against.

[QUOTE="topsemag55"]

I see threads all of the time about wanting ME1 on PS3, or The Witcher on consoles.

Both games are easily played on PCs that were made five years agodc337

No they can't, the average pc then and now has an igpu that can't play those games. Most laptops have an igpu that is designed for playing video and can only handle light 3D gaming.

Laptops outsell desktops so upgrading for most people isn't an option either.

I based the OP on the PC I owned 5 years ago. It had a 7800 GTX for graphics, which is what the PS3 has (albeit modified and not as strong).

Only entry-level Desktops had integrated graphics, it wasn't difficult to order a PC with either a 6-Series or a 7-Series nVidia.

its very expensive for 500 dollars i could buy all three consoles at a used price 100 for 360 100 for wii and 200 for ps3 then the chargers and maybe a warranty for the ps3/360 would come up to 500 dollars. also i'm not a fan of digital distribution and having to have your computer online to play single player games. i know not all games do it but i remember ea used to use that a lot

ps2snesgod

I can play ME2 or Dragon Age on my PC even if the Internet is down. Neither game requires you to be online for SP.

what is the reason why pc gamers give a **** what console gamers do? yeah, that's the better question TC...

lazerface216

I don't but it's so hilarious that console gamers cry for PC games, yet have no idea that 5-year-old Desktops were running them without breaking a sweat.:P:lol:

You can pick up Windows 7 for 30USD if you are a college student or know one.

Or you can use the Windows OS you have on your hard drive right now.

Hakkai007
Using a Windows student license is only permitted if you're currently a student of an institution with a campus agreement currently in force, or if you graduated from that institution at a time when the agreement was in force (and purchased the student license prior to graduation). Reusing your current Windows license on your hard drive is only permitted if it's not an OEM license. You're well aware that the advice you gave in this post violates the license agreements, because I've pointed it out to you before. At this point, you can't claim ignorance; you know what you're posting is misleading and yet you continue to post it.

Don't care for PC gaming because console gaming is a case of inserting a disc and playing. I'm sure if you know what you're doing PC gaming is a lot simpler, but console gaming does me just fine.

Anyways, unless you really, really don't have the time to google something, I fail to see how PC gaming is complicated in any way. The only thing I see as a problem is the assumption that you can just buy a computer from a big box store and start playing games.

I know this is shocking, but just about all console users have PCs and they are used often, might not be for games but they are still used.

I dont do PC gaming because I dont have the time to remember to upgrade all my software and hardware whenever they become dated, and my PC cant handle current games, hell it can hardly handle Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, which is a old game. And yes my PC sucks.

Only entry-level Desktops and laptops have integrated graphics. You don't have to have the newest nVidia or ATI series to run 99% of today's PC games.

For example, I'm using a nVidia in the 200 Series, yet I can run any PC game. It's all in the settings.

I was running ME1 and The Witcher on a 5-year-old GPU from the 7-Series, and even the 6-Series could have run them.

You can lose a disk. Unless you forget your password you will never lose a steam game. And you don't even have to keep the same PC.

    I have a 4890, still maxes everything 60+ FPS.

According to the Steam Hardware Survey, only 1.72% of PCs that have Steam installed have Intel integrated graphics.

i still game on my pc a bit. I just don't care much for the exclusives these days . When it comes to hardware it moves so fast these days every time i save up for an upgrade some thing els comes out in a few months . I find consoles to be a easyer and more stable platfrom for games . So many games i have got on pc were broken out the box . Empire total war was almost unplayable .

See this is an actual reason not to game on PC. You prefer the consoles, which is fine. Statements like "PCs cost thousands of dollars" and "PCs only have MMOs and RTSs" are just plain ignorant and moronic. That said, you should still get a PC! Come to the Dark Side, we have cookies!

Im going to say that 99% of the worlds population has a PC...but at the same time...I would say that 10% of the PCs can even play a "real" game.

OH and the number % was just a number I threw out there for comparison sake. I have gamed on PC but just 2 different FPS. Nothing crazy...I have tried a few different games but would never be able to play them. I dont want to have 110 keys to pick from like most PC games have. Thats just not a way to enjoy gaming.

I AM however building a new rig very soon and Im going to grab a few games and give PC gaming another try. However, it will never...ever in 10 million years take the place of my consoles.

I've very rarely changed the key layout of my games. I've only done it if it was really awkward or if I needed to access something faster. (D2 hotkeys)

I simply didn't have a PC that could handle most of those games until a few months ago and its a laptop that doesn't do amazing visuals lol. Its better than what I am use to playing (Wii) and even Wii graphics were fine for me but yeah, stats said my PC couldn't even handle black ops and it isn't an integrated chip so . . .

My pc can't handle those games.Well, maybe it can,but if I am going to play games on my computer I want them maxed out.

    Bebi_vegeta

    Pretty much this.

What's the difference, it's not like your playing "MAXED OUT" on a console...

That's the point. With PC games, I want to make sure I get the full experience so that I can match Mr. X or Mr. Y's experience. Anyways, I've caved and in a few months will be gaming on a sweet rig that I will build. SW is partly to blame for this.. :P

I generally don't like the hassles that come with pc gaming. Other then that I have no issues with pc gaming. My pc can handle most games. I still get everything on consoles as I always have and always will.

    My reason?

I don't have my own computer so I couldn't play it whenever I want.

It's really nice sitting on my bed and having games, music, Netflix all in one place on my PS3 that I can use whenever.

[QUOTE="racing1750"] Well console gaming has always done me fine. It's cheaper, simpler, and is a product focused entirely on gaming itself. PC exclusives don't interest me at all. Better looking multiplats aren't enough for me to game on a PC.bigM10231

Console is a product focused entirely on gaming? Must be the reason why I got a PS3 for Blu-ray movies...

he means that the general public wont buy a ps3 just to watch movies thats why theres seperate BR players and you wont need one because you can get one in your pc

What do you mean? I bought it for games, but I use it more often for movies... Even Sony was selling the console as an Entertaiment system.

Just doesn't really occur to me. Never really did game on PC's so I don't really get into the PC gaming scene or know much of anything about it. Plus, once I drop cash on two or three consoles, that's pretty much the most I can justify for gaming, and that is really too much already.

There are still a bunch of people out there that don't know squat about PC. I know some people who bought a PC game and their PC couldn't run it and people still don't know how to maintain their computer.

But you can do that on PC also, you can hook up PS3 and 360 controllers.

I'm already way too often in front of a PC. I work on a PC, internet browsing, etc. If I was gaming on PC too I would become sick. Plus PCs are not primarily made for gaming and consoles are more user friendly.
