I might open it..I don't get why Nintendo fund and publish games as niche as The Wonderful 101 but at the same time don't make any new "AAA" IPs themselves.
While it's true a famous franchise is more likely to sell better, it's also funny how the last non-Mario and non-Zelda unique game they made was Pikmin way back in 2001.
If they don't feel like making new IPs, atleast they could give their owned teams the chance to make some fresh ones, imo.
If Rare could do it, why not also Retro and Monolith?
Or they could really attempt to buy Platinum and they will then have the role of making diverse and unique (but niche) software for them.

maybe in order to get bayonetta 2 ninty had to fund w101?
how many studios does nintendo have? i have just heard of EAD....maybe they cant afford to churn out 5 games a year.
monolith soft is already hands full.
