I kinda wonder how cloud will work now. It was designed with the intention of everyone being online but with the policy change developers can not design that way now. I am glad for the policy change but I wonder how they work the cloud thing now.

Not sure why people think the cloud is exclusive to Microsoft.

There's a reason why Sony bough gaikai :P.

When it comes to the cloud, Sony has a massive advantage since they got gaikai's tech.

there is nothing stopping a developer from requiring an internet connection for the game to work. MSs turnaround just means its not required for every game. anyway GDDR5 offers more concrete benefits now. the cloud is very much in the "well...possibly....but probably not" territory. besides there is nothing about the PS4 that would stop it from using the same tech. they do have gaikai who know a thing to two about cloud based gaming and tech. the cloud is not an MS patented completly propietry thing (thank god)....its a marketing term for something that has been around for a long long time.

Is it ok to say "none of them"?

Look GDDR5 is the best option for the kind of build the next gen of consoles have. But it is not something that will move the heavens.

Cloud is such a marketing term now, the explained uses of it so far have not exactly been gamechanging and overall minor.

If I could I would say the overall arcehtecture of both those Consoles, as in the flexibility they have. I think that will have a far bigger impact then what ram they use, and what services they have in the backhand.

If I were forced to pick I would likely say the GDDR5 out of the two, but I have little illusion that it will make a big difference in the long run. As the Cloud examples weve been given so far have been translated to "big whoop" in my head.

I don't think there is an internet connection on the planet that can compare with the extra 100GB/s bandwidth GDDR5 brings. With the minimum needed being a 1.5Mbit connection, you're not getting much data through that in time. Hell You're probably done playing the game be the time you get anything really game-changing down from the cloud, and no, Drivatars is not game-changing.

PS4's system bandwidth is 176GB/s compared to XBone's 68.

So, unless your internet is 108 GB/s somehow, then the "powa of da cloud" does not fill a gap there.

Both have advantages however the cloud is certainly the most interesting of the two technologies.

i believe so. its a 60 million a year revenue stream that they can make better, faster and lag free. and that's not even considering how devs will use it. and believe it or not people, multiplat devs wouldnt lie to for a company. i've seen too many devs be critical of companies in the past

The reason MGS4 never made it to the 360 was the uncompressed audio that was used, and the fact that it had Apple product placement all over the place.

Not exactly gamechanging? You do realize that cloud computing increases the graphical processing power of the Xbox One four times it's physical specs? Do you know what that would mean for graphical capabilities in games?

The cloud is not to benefit from high transfer speeds its to benefit in aiding with optimizing servers for play and making constant changes to a games world. Some developers say they can use it to offload some CPU stress and some say other things like it helps with host lag. Point is comparing a cloud ( Internet ) to memory is like apples to oranges. The memory has its benefits and the cloud has different benefits. What actually comes of the cloud is yet to be seen.

Are you fcking serious? How big was the difference between XBOX and PS2? Massive. What it caused? No amazing games taking advantage of the hardware for the PS2. Games such as: Half Life 2, Far Cry, DOOM 3 and so on.

So, unless your internet is 108 GB/s somehow, then the "powa of da cloud" does not fill a gap there.

owned.

You guys are not getting what the cloud is supposed to aid in. Again the cloud and memory are two completely different things with completely different uses. The whole concept of this thread is stupid. Comparing the memory of the two systems or the cloud of the two systems makes sense.

[QUOTE="faizan_faizan"][QUOTE="AD216"] so let me get this straight, (hypothetical situation) if a dev says x1 and ps4 r close in graphics, he was paid to say that? and no, it'll be a lag free environment unless yo internet is shitty. AD216

Obviously the one who has the weaker hardware. Just like how M$ payed Kojima to spew bullshit in spite of him knowing nothing about programming.

 the same kojima that said msg4 wouldnt run on a 360 but now he's paid off?

that was because of disc space

How are you lemmings SO stupid? :?

[QUOTE="faizan_faizan"][QUOTE="AD216"]the last time a console was stronger than the other there was very little to no graphical difference. not to mention the last time the strongest console led in hardware sells was the nes pre-genesisAD216
Are you fcking serious? How big was the difference between XBOX and PS2? Massive. What it caused? No amazing games taking advantage of the hardware for the PS2. Games such as: Half Life 2, Far Cry, DOOM 3 and so on.

and yet ps2 slaughtered xbox in hardware sales

Sales matter in this discussion because?
