@ermacness: Yeah asking if GT is still relevant is Abit of a stretch, especially considering how well it’s doing in e-sports and overall sells.
If we’re going by the logic of numbers, it’s actually by far the most relevant console (track focused) racer, aside from horizon of course which is open world based, however both impressively pull in crazy numbers. For overal driving based games.
As for next gen, there is definitely more hype centered around Gran Turismo 7, and this is based on sheer numbers that I’ve viewed from trailers regarding next gen titles. The proof is in the numbers, and there is just more Hype and nearly 10x the audience centered around GT7s reveal. Itself. And it was extremely positive, the fans are getting what they want, it’s a return to “Gran Turismo” itself, while still retaining break through features from sport.
Probably one of the most highly anticipated titles of next gen; and Sony knows it’s a console seller.
So is it still relevant? Yes. Very much so.
