Okay, original Halo trilogy.

This thread made me realize how few truly fantastic trilogies I feel there are in gaming. I'm going to have to echo most people and say Metroid Prime. Mass Effect is a pretty solid second though probably.

Metroid Prime Trilogy

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Trilogy

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Mass Effect and God of war both had terrible endings but i'd still pick them as the top two

Out of trilogies that have a distinct connection to eachother that I have played through, I would say the Prince Of Persia Sands of Time games. Say what you will, I liked all 3 of the games, but I feel that the first is the weakest. However, the Prince is a great and likeable character, flawed, unlike alot of heroes in games.

Jak and Daxter.

God of War.

Metroid Prime, of course.

Halo, the 4th is kicking off a new trilogy, called the Reclaimer Trilogy I believe. So there is a difference. UNless I can think of a better one, I wil keep my answer as Halo

Definitely this, no other trilogy had the combination of being as epic, having as good a story, and delivering as great an ending as this trilogy did....

That's a very good point. We separate Star Wars into OT and... well, that's about it. Indiana Jones is still a trilogy to me too.

I liked Halo 3's ending as well. But to be fair, Halo never really had too many loose plot threads to wrap up. Bungie would have to have tried really hard to pull a smoke monster/she's an angel to cause upset with the ending (points for getting the references).

Gameplay wise, the final level wasn't amazing, but I liked the ending 21 gun salute and "Wake me, when you need me." Aw yeah.

STALKER,Warcraft and Discworld come to mind. Most likely Diablo will soon join.

I would also say Deus Ex and Fallout if it weren´t for DX Invisible War and Fallout 3.

Metroid Prime, and it's not even close. Metroid Prime (the original game) is as close to gaming perfection as it gets.

Wow see alot of Metroid Prime, never played though. I would pick Uncharted but I feel its more game are definately coming. Probably Mass effect or God of War because they were actually one story arc.
