What's your absolute favorite game this gen? Now say something negative about it

I thought this would be a fun experiment. Just to see how objective we can be about the games we love.

My favorite game this generation is Metroid Prime 3. One thing I wish were different is the difficulty. The game is definietly the easiest Metroid game I've ever played and the bosses especially don't live up to the legendary challenge of the Metroid series. Especially Aurora 313 (the final boss). Definitely too easy. Also the maps aren't nearly as engrossing as the ones found in Prime and Echoes. They're still very good but not as epic as the previous games.

So what about you guys? What are some of the problems you can find in some of your favorite games?

Red Dead Redemption

The game is very glitchy.

Uncharted 2 : The multiplayer graphics are a far cry from single player.

System Wars is finicky about this one, but all the same: Persona 4. Voice acting grates on my nerves, so I turn it off. Enemies can be cheap, as well.

Otherwise: Radiant Historia. Too much backtracking. Combat could be broken rather easily (and hilariously).

Yeah that's such a common problem. It's one of the many credits I give to the Gears of War games. Even in multiplayer they tend to still look pretty beautiful.

Oblivion: Performance and polish.

Red Dead Redemption: It could have some RPG elements and more reasons to explore the world.

Mass Effect: Terrible equipment menus.

Metal Gear Solid 4

- long cutscenes. but hey they're damn great cutscenes.

STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl - suffers from bugs and is actually best enjoyed modded (although modding it is definitely not necessary for enjoyment, contrary to popular belief).

Arma 2 - good luck playing 10 minutes without encountering some sort of bug or glitch.

Borderlands very repetitive and also halo3 the only negative thing about it is that fn rocket launcher i wish it had armour lock to balance that damn thing out

Mass Effect - Not really long enough, needs to be at least another 1000000000000000 hours.

Such an outstanding game.

All the Cods - But they have the worst spawn system which has improved.

...I don't have one.

Okay, for all intents and purposes it's Call of Duty 4. The single-player is extremely shallow and straightforward. They could have made more of an effort to make you care about the characters, in service of the ending. Killstreaks in MP are really annoying sometimes. Martyrdom is cheap. Bog is a lame map.

Persona 4: Sometimes the gameplay can be cheap at times

Just a couple of parts in Demon's Souls. No shortcut for level 4-4. Also, the maneater boss could be very cheap with knocking you off the edge, unless you kill them the easy way with firestorm, but it's not as satisfying. Overall, it's still a 10.0 to me.

Demon's Souls. Needed more variety in weapons and abilities.

Disgaea 3 ... ... ... Nothign for me personal, but I guess it's horrible for newcommers and a lot hate it's graphics

This, except you had to watch the enemy turns, which in the later levels could be quite lengthy.

No one buying it is still sad though :P.

• Super Mario Galaxy - Luigi is mostly just a cheap way to extend replay value. There also could have been a better reward (i.e. something that affects the gameplay) for collecting all of the stars.
• No More Heroes - Overworld suffers from a ridiculous amount of technical flaws.
• Team Fortress 2 - Some of the newer items feel slightly out of place, and the erratic patch schedule along with some buggy patches result in a few more glitches and moments of game unavailability than I'd like.

Street Fighter 4.

It's been rereleased twice instead of having DLC.

Super Mario Galaxy 2.

The story was pretty forgettable, even compared to previous Mario games (Sunshine).

My fave game this gen would have to be red dead redemption and the only thing i didn't like was that it glitched on me a few times but nothing serious.

New Vegas: Glitchy as hell

Uncharted 2- Forgettable Multi-Player

Halo Reach: The first 2 missions were terrible

Portal 2: Co-Op was dissapointing

Gears of War: SP was very Boring at times

Heavy Rain: Plot Holes up the ass.

God of War 3: Short as hell.

Assassins Creed 2: Controls

Fallout 3: Predictable story, Glitchy as hell

SMG2: Very boring parts.

and Forza 3: Half the maps were bad.

The Witcher 2.

It ended and now I have to wait for The Witcher 3.

Halo 3 - BR spread

StarCraft II - The story is just okay.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 - The game ends.

Team Fortress 2: I can't make a server for some reason.

Super Mario galaxy 2 - I really don't like how there are 3 Bowser fights. It'd be much better if we only had one bowser fight at the end, it helps in building suspense for the final showdown when there aren't any other showdowns before hand, by the third time we fight bowser we already know his patterns pretty much, plus without the other 2 bowser fights that leaves two open spots for two completely different bosses we could fight; would allow for more creative bosses like the large planet-eating dragon.

Bayonetta - Not a fan of QTEs. That plus the ranking system was abit weird sometimes I think in how it judged you. Times I swore I killed enemies as fast as possible while not taking any damamge and sometimes I'd still only get gold medals...

Batman: Arkham Asylum - Even on the hardest difficulty, the main game is rather easy. Also...
[spoiler] The game made me think the GPU in my PS3 had fried during the third Scarecrow sequence. Not cool. ;_; [/spoiler]

Indeed. As well as with SMG1. Was never crazy about it.

Now that I think about it only one Bowser Jr' fight would have been nice too, as oppposed to having two. Although atleast with him he uses different robots.
