Every time there is a comparison between 360 and ps3 games, somebody always brings up, well its on pc so it doesnt count?

where is the logic in this?

In a comparison between the two this doesnt make sense.

If i were to go in to a shop to buy either a ps3 or a 360, i will notice that Gears of war, left 4 dead, mass effect are availible on the 360 and not the ps3.

If i had only a ps3 i would not be able to play these games, just as my 360 will not play Uncharted 2, and MGS4.

I spent about £600 this year upgrading my pc to play such games as crysis on max settings, and there is not one person i know who would spend that much on a PC to play a handful of games.

So these same people who claim to have teh massivez spes pc and a ps3, and spent a load of money upgrading thier pc to play these 360/ pc games, does it not make more sense to spend that money on a 360? especially when this year only two gameshave come out on the pc that are worth upgrading for, ( empire total war , arma 2 )

But then i do suspect most Sony fanboys say they have a high spec pc as damage control.

no it just called the cows are being cows. since the 360 has a ton of great games that come out on the pc/360. that try to pull that crap.

its really just a lame excuse. to try to make it look like the ps3 has more ps3 only games and better game than the 360.

If you are just comparing exlusives, then they don't count. If you are comparing the full game libraries then they obviously do count. But for some reason people tend to go with the exclusives, even though the full comparison would give a more realistic impression.

this basically becomes the 360 vs pc and ps3 then. it does little to prove which 1 is better but rather shows that 2 > 1

It doesn't count as an EXCLUSIVE.

I don't doubt Cows do it for these reasons. But that doesn't make them wrong necessarily.

It's not just Cows either (though Lemmings like to pretend it is to portray opposition as prejudice), Hermits and Manticores oppose it as well.

I play all the pc/360 games on the xbox 360. if I want to play Uncharted 2, I go to my friend's and do it. the other games don't interest me much. It's a matter of tastes, btw. I play multiplats for the most part. I didn't like MGS4 and don't like rpg's ( except Mass Effect ) , even worse I can't play jrpg. But at the end of the day SW ≠ Real World

This is sytem wars and exclusive means only on that system. PC is a different system than X-box, therefore they are not exclusive.

You're right, I can't play Mass effect and Gears on my Ps3 but I can play them on me PC. Some people don't have the option of playing on the PC, i get that.

We can't really call DC universe an exclusive because it is also on PC. If UC 1 & 2 were on the PC , they would not be called exclusives. It's just a Fact that has always been in system wars and always will be unless PC gaming dies (not happening).

Example :When a website/newspaper run a story interviewing someone , they call that an exclusive . 20 other publications/websites do not run the story as their own.

No it doesn't. PS3 isn't the system getting PC games listed as it's exclusives. This would be lemmings comparing 360+pc vs. PS3.

You may have a "PC in your life", but it didn't come without cost. You can play those games on your PC, but it effectively means adding the cost of a PC to that of a PS3 in order to counter a 360.

Last time I checked this wasn't a PS3 vs 360 board. What others claim to have has no point being in the discussion. Even if I didn't have a high end PC to run those games, it would still be aFACT that games like Mass effect/Gears/Fable etc are not exclusive. Right now Gears 2 is exclusive.

I don't get what the point is. This is the way it's always been. In the end it doesn't really matter because we all get to play games.

I've NEVER considered my PC a "system" in regards to gaming, but apparently others do. The PC is in a class of it's own simply because one can upgrade it on the fly and generate better results. Consoles don't allow that so I've ALWAYS felt that they should be compared against each other and NOT the PC. As it stands, PC core PC gamers will always buy their games on the PC if it's available and console gamers will always buy their games for their console (doesn't even matter if they own a PC). If we were to compile a list of "console" exclusives, the 360's library would absolutely destroy the PS3's. Sadly though, System Wars logic (although HORRIBLY flawed) wins out and we are led to believe that EVERY cow here has a gaming PC that can run all these games at 360 or better standards.

Example Person 1.Whats better 360 or ps3? person 2. i prefer the 360 it has left 4 dead halo 3 and gears Person 3. those dont count cus l4d and gears is on pc. This doesnt make sense. I cant see why someone would buy a 250 quid ps3 a 600 quid gaming pc and up grade every year, but not purchase a 159 quid 360 ?

Cows will forever use the PC argument, which only proves that they need 2 systems PC/PS3 to battle 1 system the 360. The funny thing about it is that the large majority of great games made for the PC are developed for the Windows platform! How this benifits the Cow in any way I have no idea!

it depends on the argument used. if at any time a 360/pc multiplat game is referred to as exclusive, then somebody has every right to bring up the fact that it's not exclusive.

What about me, i'm currently playing Forza 2, but came off of Red Alert 3 and Insurgency on the PC last night, and will probably play counterstrike later, I buy games for both my consoles (360, wii) and my PC, your statement that there is no crossover is just false, so why should it be just consoles, there are people who only buy PlayStation and not the other consoles thus PlayStation shouldn't be included? Your logic is flawed, i can game on my PC, thes it deserves representation here.

Except in this case your using the 360 + PC to counter the PS3. Everyone knows if system "x" + a console equals superior exclusives. That's why PC is by itself.

NukePistols

Only when comparing 360 and PS3 EXCLUSIVE games people say that, and it does make sense. Here's the definition of the word exclusive: ex·clu·sive(k-sklsv)adj. 1. Excluding or tending to exclude: exclusive barriers. 2. Not allowing something else; incompatible: mutually exclusive conditions. 3. Not divided or shared with others: exclusive publishing rights. 4. Not accompanied by others; single or sole: your exclusive function. 5. Complete; undivided: gained their exclusive attention. 6. Not including the specified extremes or limits, but only the area between them: 20-25, exclusive; that is, 21, 22, 23 and 24. 7. Excluding some or most, as from membership or participation: an exclusive club. 8. Catering to a wealthy clientele; expensive: exclusive shops. 9. LinguisticsOf, relating to, or being a first person plural pronoun that excludes the addressee, such aswein the sentenceChris and I will be in town tomorrow, so we can stop by your office.

I have tried this before. Cows don't understand the logic behind this.... :(

I agree with the TC. If you are a pc gamer good for you, but I don't think that the pc is in the same market as the consoles. Go to a Walmart, Target, Gamespot, or Game Crazy and compare the games they have in stock. They have like 20 times more games for the 360 and PS3 than PC games.

PC gaming has moved on from mere retail to digital distribution. Fact is, more developers are working on PC titles, more people play PCs for their gaming needs, more PC gaming hardware sells than any console.

If a game is on more than one platform, then it is not an exclusive title. Those are the System Wars standards.

However, when comparing overall libraries, those titles most certainly do count. When comparing libraries, a lemming is not hiding behind anything. He or she is simply saying, "I can play Mass Effect on my 360." That's it. Nothing more. Now if some raving cow should decide to come into the thread and claim that they can play that game on their PC, it is the cow who is hiding behind the PC. That is why some people say that when comparing libraries, some cows need both the PS3 and the PC to counter the 360.

When comparing apples and oranges somebody always wants to mention banana's because they don't want to feel excluded from the list and want to prove their superiority to everybody else for having a capable gaming rig that can outdue the current generation of consoles in graphics and performance.

I agree with the TC. If you are a pc gamer good for you, but I don't think that the pc is in the same market as the consoles. Go to a Walmart, Target, Gamespot, or Game Crazy and compare the games they have in stock. They have like 20 times more games for the 360 and PS3 than PC games.

justin28107
eh? thats not true in my experience, not in any walmart or target I've been in, indeed best buy has a much wider selection of PC games than any of the individual consoles. Granted in walmart & target the console games are displayed much more promintently, but if you actually look at the numbers of games they tend to be fairly close. I would also suggest that PC games are moving away from retail and much more heavily into digital distribution. Why should I go queue up at a store at midnight on a cold wet night when I can download the game from the comfort of my house? The consolite argument of a PC/console market being entirely different is a myth. Ask a cow/lemming about 360/PC multiplats for one example :P

He is right, the PC isn't in the same league as consoles. It's in a bigger league.

Cows will forever use the PC argument, which only proves that they need 2 systems PC/PS3 to battle 1 system the 360. The funny thing about it is that the large majority of great games made for the PC are developed for the Windows platform! How this benifits the Cow in any way I have no idea!KaoSXFACTOR
If benifits them in regard to system wars 'exclusive' tally. Being developed for a windows platform doesnt help Microsoft, unless its pushing copies of their own software - which the vast majority of anyone gaming on their computers already own.

most of the 360 "exclusives" arent exclusives because they are on PC...

someone telling me well 360 has gears of war and PS3 dont, well its not exclusive beacase its on PC and I have a gaming PC.

it would be the same as say if MGS4 or uncharted2 was on PC... lemmings would say the same thing

Exactly the point. "Hiding behind the PC" PC/PS3 vs 360. How does this benefit the PS3 in a PS3 vs 360 argument though?

because if a PS3 or 360 game is PC... its not exclusive. Id rather play the game on PC where its better than on a console

It removes a major incentive for purchasing the 360. It's best games can be attained elsewhere.

Didn't you know? A PC equipped with a GeForce GTX 295 comes bundled with each and every PS3?

But really, the cows argument actually exposes a flaw in their game line up defense. With PS3 it takes two seperate machines at extra cost to match the library found on just 1 box with the 360. In actually only Hermits have claim to this argument, as PC IS their primary gaming platform, whereas not every cow can claim to have a gaming capable PC. And their typing here doesn't offer proof, a PC that can surf doesn't necessarily play Crysis or Stalker.

its just that you cant stand the fact that the majority of 360 exclusives are on PC. with a gaming PC and a PS3 theres no reason to buy a 360. thats what you hate

And you completely missed the point of my argument. "with BOTH a PC and PS3 there's no reason to buy a 360". Just why is it PS3 can't compete against 360s library on its own??

It can't. The lesson here seems to be that the PC is a beast. Both sides try to exploit it to strengthen the perception of their own systems.

That is what I would like to know.
