I hate to say it but between the waw and cod4 communities its already dethroned. But maybe it would help if 360 owners had more of a choice in 1st party games to chose from, beside halo3. I mean on the 360 what is one going to buy for a fps? cod series or halo3 right? So going on 4 years of the 360 on the market and possibly 2 1/2 years since Halo3 was reduced to what $39.00 or $29.00 game, it should be packed in there.

And once again come the 22nd yet another Halo game launching. I mean really 4 years of Halo and Gears lol, thats the exact reason why I didn't keep my 360, I just knew there wasn't going to be enough of what I like to keep me busy and interested in my purchase.

It doesn't matter what the TC did or didn't say. We're talking about dethroning a 360 exclusive. That means in order to be dethroned, something has to prevent you from putting the Halo 3 disc into your 360. Therefore, everything not playable on the 360 doesn't matter.

1,177,930 games in the past 24 hours don't lie. Show me a game that tops that on XBL, and I'll agree you have the reigning champion.

2) 1 million don't play Diablo 2 on a daily basis. Not anymore, but its been out for 10 years. in 10 years H3 wont be close to D2's numbers today (H3 will be at 0 at that point btw)

I figured we had evolved the conversation into something we could discuss. It's pretty difficult to objectively debate a RTS vs a FPS vs a whatever, especially on completely different platforms. Perhaps I assumed too much.

Are you talking about multiplats? If so, controls are the only difference there and just because you prefer mouse and keyboard doesn't mean everyone else does. But if you're talking about exclusives, well, consoles definitely have PC beat in that area. What does PC even have nowadays? Just Crysis? He never gave a reasoning behind it so statistics are useless considering he didn't say if it was popularity or the like. Dethroned can also mean most fun game or the one he plays the most (not with everyone else but himself).

if your talking about number of players, or popularity.then id say when modern warfare 2 comes out.when cod 4 was out. it and halo constantly were battling for the number 1 spot. but when waw was released. it split the user base. so i think when mw 2 comes out. it will dethrone halo. at the latest, when halo:reach comes out. since itll have new multiplayer.

You don't, if you want to crown a game to be king it's best to use facts. Counter-strike is still the most played game of any genre on the planet. This includes steam, private servers, and Internet cafes around the globe. Goto any decently sized internet cafe and the 3 games that is being dominantly played on them is (Counter-strike, Starcraft, then Warcraft (DOTA).

I am still wondering however, why you think only a 360 exclusive can "dehtrone" Halo 3. Because that assumption came from nowhere.

No, but it's Halo and it's Bungie. There's no chance in hell it won't be anything but amazing (but of course there will still be the Halo haters out there calling it overrated). If ODST had competitive multiplayer, MW2 would at least have some competion, but come on, H3 is a 2 year old game now. It's starting to show its age now especially when compared to MW2 (at least from the very impressive multiplayer videos IW has been putting out).

Modern Warfare, World At War and Modern Warfare 2 (in a few weeks) are more popular in the online department, if you're asking about.

Why does ithe game have to be playable on the 360? By that logic we can't call Mario as the platformer king because it can't be played on the 360 or ps3.
