when will HALO 3 be dethorned?

Mario is the highest sellign and most played platformer ever so it is king. Not opinion it's fact.

Also Halo 3 is not the most popular FPS, it is on consoles but not across all systems which the TC means in his original post due to the inclusion of other games on other systems.

Again how does a game's inability to not be played on a 360 have to do with anything if the topic at hand includes all systems?

Halo 3 made $170 million in the US alone within 24 hours of its release, four million copies pre ordered globally,made more than$300 its first week globally, almost 3 years after its release, still made it to the top 20, this is the biggest game of this generation, fact.

I was under the assumption that when I mentioned "mario" I was referring to the game franchise considering I said "platformer" in the same sentence. Clearly that was too hard to understand.

I see your point, it's right there on the screen. Now help me understand it because at the moment it doesn't make sense as how only a game that's playable on the 460 can dethrone halo 3, but how can that be if halo 3 was never on the "throne" in the first place.

Call of Duty 4, The Orange Box (or even just HL2), Starcraft, Diablo II, and most importantly NOLF 2 (the best FPS ever made).

Why would you want to dethrown Halo anyways? So you can take credit for compromising the quality of an entire entertainment medium and beginning a steady descent into corporate minded money grubbery?

ok, this is TC's thread he should specify if he is talking about FPS shooters in general for every system (it seems to be, cause he mentions the pc fps not being as "hot" as console ones) or if he is strictly referring to the 360 If he is referring only for the 360 I will agree, if he states the sames for all systems then is a no noGiancar

It doesn't matter what the TC did or didn't say. We're talking about dethroning a 360 exclusive. That means in order to be dethroned, something has to prevent you from putting the Halo 3 disc into your 360. Therefore, everything not playable on the 360 doesn't matter.

1,177,930 games in the past 24 hours don't lie. Show me a game that tops that on XBL, and I'll agree you have the reigning champion.

That doesn't make one bit of sense to me. Why should this only apply to 360 games? If something has to prevent you from putting Halo 3 into your 360 like you said, then why does it have to be a 360 game? Any game on any system can potentially "keep you from putting halo 3 into your 360." Talking about a game that can dethrone Halo 3 does not mean that game has to be on the 360. All of those Halo 3 subscribers will not always be playing Halo 3, what happens when the next FPS king is released and becomes popular? And what happens when those Halo players start playing the next big game? It might be on 360, and it might not.
