I got like 10 minutes in, the only memory I had of Halo was getting a sticky grenade on me without knowing why it's stuck on me then dying.
It seems to becoming one of those franchises where it's hard to find those that haven't played them.
I've played 2 and 3.

My personal favorite single player right next to Half Life 2. Same goes for my older brother. Halo CE was epic.

no i actually was decent for a noob. but ive played other shooters that have better multiplayer, halo is basically a bunch of idiots jumping around shooting eachother. no thanks. i prefer team based/tactical for shooters. i see no fun in just mindless shooting. but shooters are garbage now, they all just rehashed crap. i only enjoy good single player shooters now. killzone 2 was the last time i bought a shooter (graphics hype etc.) that game is just as bad as halo, maybe slightly better because there is some sort of team aspect in it. but still overall its garbage. shooters suck.

Because competitive online gaming is fun.....unless you're bad.
I played Halo on the original Xbox at my friends house when I was about 12. I wasn't even into video games much back then and I sucked so bad.
That experience destoyed any desire in buying an Xbox, and I have never played Halo again. Plus I have never owned a MS console.
I own all Halo titles back to the 1st one and I don't like it all that much, never did. The reason I have them is because my wife likes playing it cause she likes how easy it is to control and just easy all around for her. She likes other shooters more then Halo that she says she wants to play , but they are too hard for her. I like more realistic moving shooters like COD, Medal of Honor, KZ2, etc... I don't like games like Halo where you can jump 10 feet in the air and get head shots. Another thing I never liked was how you don't get to carry more then like two weapons or something like that. I played it and don't like it so to me it's not the greatest experience ever...sorry.
So what I'm piecing from these posts are that ironically the same people that bash Halo either A)Never played all the games properly B)Never owned a copy of any of the games and just played it at a friend's houseor C)Just plain suck at it. Yep I'm not surprised.
i never played any sec halo in my life i know it only from videos on youtube and such topics even this is for me more than enough about this worse game
A) Played them all, Beat them all on all levels of difficulty to unlocked everything for my wife B) Own every single copy and content for all of them C) Very good at it offline as well as online. So, nope be surprised. Some people like me just don't like it. I'll play it, but I don't like it....There's nothing wrong with the game it's just not my style. So what I'm piecing from these posts are that ironically the same people that bash Halo either A)Never played all the games properly B)Never owned a copy of any of the games and just played it at a friend's houseor C)Just plain suck at it. I it is safe to say the hate HAlo mostly get is just the fact it is AAA, popular, and lemming herald it as the best FPS ever. People don't even play the game an djust hate it. pretty much has been what i believe to be true since halo 2 first launched, the people that were always in last place...hated halo, and all my friends that sucked at it gace up on it and went to play call of duty 4, which requires next to no skillSo what I'm piecing from these posts are that ironically the same people that bash Halo either A)Never played all the games properly B)Never owned a copy of any of the games and just played it at a friend's houseor C)Just plain suck at it. I have never beaten a halo game. I played about half way through halo 1 and halo 2, and enough of the multiplayer in h2 and h3 to more than understand it.
....its not as great as some lemmings claim it to be.

i cant quite put my finger on it, but there is something about playstation gamers that just dont translate into liking halo, its like halo requires to much thinking and skill, they are more used to games that are turn based or have way less required reaction time. I'm a Playstation gamer as well as a Xbox gamer and their is no skill involed in being good in Halo. If you have skill it makes you the better gamer online, but even a noob could do real good it's just one of those kinda of games. One of my good online friends on Xbox is always ranked in like the top 100 in Halo since the first one and I never even played the game before and beat him online...He was pissed, but oh well. Maybe there is a trend of PS gamers always 'coincidentally' don't like halo(I'll keep the possibilies for interpretation open lol), but in no way does the translation have to do with skill and reaction time. During the last few years of the PS2 and before I got my PS3 I spent quite a few years playing PC games. I dare say my reflexes are not bad in games like CS or UT, so no it has nothing to do with that category.
And I don't know how you can turn to my taste for turn-based games to talk about this issue, despite the fact that I do love JRPGs. But yeah, as mentioned there probably is a trend for this issue, and interpretation is free. :)

Best out of five and I won 3. Just because you find it hard to believe doesn't mean I suck or does he. I've been a killer at all FPS for a long time and I know what to do in basics in them all at the start. No focus was dropped I'm just better then him and he admits it and I choose not to play Halo, like it or not that's just the way it is.

I never indicated that I don't "like it". But I can understand where you're coming from.
There are 3 types of people that don't like HALO....
1. Played it, got owned hard online, suddenly the game became overated garbage.
2. It's popular there-fore I hate it, because that makes me deep & complicated. (Most likely still in high school)
3. I'm against MS and everything they touch, because I'm a blind fanboy of another company, and Halo threatens me.

Halo 1 was amazing. I still play it on pc sometimes. 2 was ok, and 3 sucked.
I never liked the multiplayer really.
I've never played a Halo game and that's why I don't have an opinion on it.
Shadow4020
1st time on SW's EVER!
I've only played the original Halo back when it was popular. My little brother's friend left his Xbox at our house, so I decided to give it a try, I had no idea what I was doing at the time, as I was used to the ps2 controller and what have you. I played my little brother in split screen and he strategically and consecutively owned me, over and over again, so much that I vowed never to touch any thing with the word "Halo" in it, ever again. No but in all seriousness, it's a great series, and will go down as one of the best, if not the best shooters of all time, no matter how much hate it receives. And there's no denying it, there's a reason why a game becomes so popular.
LOl u totaly hit the spot. Guys the game dosent suk if u totaly get facerolled online XD. on a lighter note Halo CE was prolly the best halo out there i was realy disappointed wiht halo 2 . And halo 3 totaly redeamed itself for halo 2s shortcomming + the online on H3 is still totaly epic .There are 3 types of people that don't like HALO....
