3DS was never a failure.. surely it didnt launch with an amazing line-up of titles and wasnt cheap either but its not like anyone with some sense really believed the 3DS was gonna fail...
Great games + price-cut did the job :)
I'm pretty sure that it has more games other than those twostill no games apart from MK7 and 3d land

The system is already out 10 months and 1st Party support is stilllacking compared to what was shown pre-debut.
Considering Ninty has stopped supporting the DS (and to an extent, the Wii)for over a year now, I'm questioning their efficiency in pumping out titles in a timely manner.

[QUOTE="charizard1605"]
It was overpriced at launch, had no games, suffered from a patchy online strategy, its features weren't available until much later, and games were being cancelled left, right and center. There was brand confusion (so it's just a regular DS with 3D?) Sales dipping to under a million worldwidefor an entire quarter. Iwata publicly coming out and apologizing. For a moment, it semed like Nintendo, the mighty unassailable handheld gods, had stumbled.
And then they got their act together.
An agressive price cut, an unrelenting fall schedule, an overhaul of their online strategy, an eShop loaded with content, full mutlimedia functionality and extra features unlocked, and renewed third party support. An aggressive advertisment campaign that makes it clear that the 3DS is an all new system. The 3DS is now setting sales records everywhere. Its games are topping the charts, and it is the most wanted item by kids this Christmas. It has already outsold the DS's year one total in under nine months. It has several excellent games now, available at both retail and digitially.
Who still thinks its a failure? And what grounds do you have for calling it a failure anymore?
GiveMeSomething
Flashnews mr. hardcore blind sheep: the system is STILL overpriced, even with the price cut. Just look at the hardware you are getting. It's extremely outdated and no matter how 'good' the games are (I love the argument when people say gameplay>graphics, but truth be told we must demand BOTH), it doesn't change the fact people are getting ripped off. Some friends have asked me to buy the 3DS, but I refuse to support companies who's main audience are uninformed, and casual people; as well as 'family and kids'. I'll pass thank you very much.
Lol you sound mad  Go and rage while I play my great 3DS games [QUOTE="Mario1331"]

that was the whole part of them launching with not many 1st party games it was majority third party from then to the first half of it, thats why all there games came out in the holiday

I do. Nintendo will never do online properly and the launch lineup is still all-around unimpressive. They finally got around to GBA games, which really is awesome, and the price going down is also great, but the 3D feels like someone is lighting both my eyes on fire, something no amount of free games will fix. They either exclude an entire segment of the population from enjoying the games and actually make the 3D count for something or they simply allow the gimmick to become something secundary, a feature that is present, but meaningless.
Pushmo is incredible. And yeah, I can definitely see where you are coming from. Those are all some legitimate complaints :) Hopefully, the revision comes before Smash Bros, so we can play online and I can school you :twisted:charizard1605
That looks pretty cool.
Another 3DS eshop game to keep an eye on is Mighty Switch Force from WayForward. It's $6 and comes out on dec. 22 in NA, Europe and Australia.
Also here's a music sample from the game which sound pretty damn sweet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSvVTgEff0I

If you got Ambassador :PbbkkristianHmm, it's still great without :P I put in loads of hours into Devil Survivor, and I'm enjoying Mario Kart 7 and 3D Land :D I also just got The Minis March Again off the Club Nintendo rewards.
I still need to buy Cave Story 3D and Pushmo. Hopefully I can finish all these before Tales of the Abyss and RE: Revelations in Jan/Feb. It's a good time for all 3DS owners :D

Too bad it can be refuted so easily. * Why would they NEVER do online properly? Look at how the 3DS is improved and the WiiU. Their getting better! Especially with the release of MK7 * Launch-line up doesn't matter now. All the good games have been accumulated. * Fix your eyes. I play OoT with 3D on almost all the time, and no problems. Your eyes need to get used to it. * It is up to the devs to make the 3D work. Its definitely a failure, 3DS just has too many major flaws which can't be ignored like
Very outdated hardware
Lacks second analog stick
Bad 3D screen hurts your eyes and screen is very low resolution even lower than PSPs which is over 6 years old
Region locked
Bad backwards compatible, old DS games have longer loading times
No achievements or trophies for games
Very low battery life
Lack of good games
Very outdated touch screen tecnology
Online network very outdated, no video chat, cross game chat and still uses friend codes.... o.O
Can't play music while playing

The hardware's an eyesore, but I must admit the software's really picking up. Depending on how the Vita turns out in the US, I may buy a 3DS instead (though the Vita is still a little more desirable by default, considering how much PSN content I have).

Essentialy it's just a DS but extra gimmicky with it's stupid 3D. Nintendo is just being lazy these days, they are always adding a gimmick to their systems so it can get caught up by the casual player. In my book it's a fail.

First, and most importantly, I'm definitely not the only one who has these problems. They are genetic, or acquired, etc... and they don't disappearthrough willpower, the system aggravating people's health is documented all around the world. And as paying customer, I don't have to change s***, Nintendo is the one that has to adapt its product if it's main selling point can't be used by, I dare say, millions. As for refuting my point, I can't take an argument based on an unreleased console seriously, and I'm fully aware of what the line-up is now, and it's still lackluster.

Connect your 3DS to Wifi, go to the eShop icon, download the game.Nintendo has marked special spots on a map of the world. If you stand there it allows you to download one eshop game at random :P. Lol in all seriousness the eshop works over any wifi connection and in my limited experience is pretty fast and awesome (although a bit cluttered in terms of UI).
