Why do hermits play SW's, when.....

By it's definition, they have no part in it?

System wars has always been about console generations. I do not mean GS system wars, but actual system wars. It is a war between console generations, PC has nothing to do with it.

A PC does not have any gens. There is no point where a PC gen starts and ends, nor is it comparable to the consoles at all. The whole point is that the playing field is equal to each party, and that games define the winner of each gen (also sales by some definitions)

So why do PC owners feel the need to take part in something:

1) They cannot enter

2) They cannot win

3) They cannot lose.

PC should be banned from SW's. Technically it already is, it has no place in it. No 'gen' has ever included PC, nor has any gen of system wars. System wars is defined by consoles.

I see it that way too, but some hermit mods of 2002 shoehorned the PC into the console wars and banned anyone who said the PC didn't count.

it is a current gen system.

And at the same time it is a last gen system and a next gen system.

Many people called Wii 'last gen' does that mean it had no place in SW ?

System Wars will slowly by slowly start encompassing more mobile gaming too. This is the board for people to just get whatever they want out of their system about any kind of games.

So after being utterly destroyed by PC gaming in SW, consolites decide that PC doesn't count. Bravo.

And that's that. It's system wars. We can say whatever we want about our gaming platform, it's not limited to gaming consoles. I don't think anyone gives a f*k about the so called requirements that were made up right now by your self trough some interpretation of logic.

I've seen that a lot of self-proclaimed hermits here are actually console fanboys that hide behind PC to pretend they're better than everyone else and because they're afraid to get owned. Most true hermits don't even care about system wars and they know it's mostly for console fanboys. But many times these phony hermits can't contain their fanboyism so their true nature comes to light but they seem very hypocritical when people actually confront them. kuraimen

That Steve the gamer guy reminds me of one of these, he is obviously an xbox fan but hide behind PC. Now that you mention it alot of people really do that, on all sides.

I know that this board is kinda more a less rules board where people get to battle out and all, so I'm not making the point that PC gamers should not be able to post or anything. It's more to do with why they want to compete in a metagame that by definitions, they cannot enter or win. Yeah I don't really know either. Of course if you update your PC to the latest technology you are going to win. A computer which is updated>>>>>> a console which has the same hardware as 6-7 years ago.

Where do the rules say SW goes by generations? I don't see anything in Gamespot's Terms of Use saying it is so.

Most PC gamers own a console or 2 as well and fall on one side or other in the console battle. If you were on SW last gen or the start of this gen you probably dislike one certain faction :Pblue_hazy_basic

Ah ok, I wasn't there last gen but I assume the PS fans were pretty rabid because of how dominant the PS2 was (I didn't even own one, or any console for that matter). I just think it's kinda lame when these individuals are backed into a corner they run and hide behind PC, makes things less interesting.

We get next generation hardware too nub, we just get it at more regular intervals :|

What's more is the extreme moderator protection that "PC" gets here. As if it didn't have a big enough advatage with it's super ambiguous definition.

Yep cause Kelper, Fermi, IvyBridge, SandyBridge, Bulldozer, Piledriver, Southern Islands, and etc are totally not gens for PC
