Why do people feel consoles are cheaper then PC?

You can build a PC right now for around $500 and never pay a dime for your priveledge to play online. Less expensive games. Are console owners living in a fantasy world?

Well you don't really need dual titans when you go out and build a gaming PC. A gaming PC doesn't cost 5 grand to build. You can buy the GTX 660 and be on par with the PS4 spec wise or maybe a little ahead of it for $200 for the card. And it comes with Splinter Cell Blacklist.

Yeah... if you ask me, to get the full and proper PC gaming experience, you need to spend at least $750 on your rig, and that's not counting the peripherals. Whatever some hermits may say, upfront costs of console hardware are far cheaper than the price of a competent gaming PC. Those forced sub-$500 rigs you can see in these threads are crap, PC gaming done right isn't about cutting corners wherever possible.

If you take the price of console releases at the start of each generation, add that onto an average PC, and a lot of people have an average PC/Laptop along with their console(s), then I don't see why not. Steam Sales, piratebay, and free online also save you a lot of money. You then have two problems: 1. You have to upgrade components. 2. You're missing out on some good exclusives.

PC's do everything else beter than consoles, but their upfront cost IS higher.

Of course, in life, cheaper very seldomly means better.

If I had gotten an amd FX 6300 (instead of my current i7) then my PC would of cost $650 including windows (8gigs of ram, 7870XT at 7970 speeds, and a 6 core AMD processor @4.1ghz along with all my current parts for $650).

The savings on not paying for online/cheaper games for the first year alone would cancel out the price difference versus an xboxone/ps4......... ("buh buh teh pc gaming is expensive" !).

Whats also funny is that this is in todays price also (imagine what the $650 would get in 4-5 months).

Because "hermits" aren't a single person, and so there is no hypocracy. You cna absolutely talk about budget rigs, and absolutley tlak about super high end PC parts and graphics. They are nto contradictions unless someone actually says you cna have 1440p 60 FPS max settings with a $500 PC, which NO ONE HAS ACTUALLY SAID - sadly that fact didn't stop you from insinuating this anyway.
