It's mainly because even though there are a lot of RROD's, the 360 is still a fantastic console.
Plus the amount of RROD's has decreased a lot.

[QUOTE="dthach614"]Your point? People kept buying ps2's when they broke. Didn't stop it from being a great system. Some people's warranties probably ran out and you might as well keep your HDD and get a new one instead of paying MS to repair and god knows how long that will take.I keep hearing about people buying another xbox 360s after they got the red ring? why the hell would you do that?
right now, my xbox is with M$ for repairs, and i just find it strange that players would shell out more money for another xbox 360 after M$ just scam them out of $200-$400. I already paid for my xbox 360 and it broke not because of me, but because Microsoft screwed up. It is not my fault and i refuse to take responsiblities and let my pockets suffer for M$'s mistakes. Either M$ give me a working console or they would never receive another penny for me. As of right now, i dont have a gaming console, and the thought of buying a ps3(cause of the price and the fact the xbox 360 is my pefer console) never cross my mind untill after my 360 crapped out on me. I need a gaming console and for dayum sure i would not purchase another 360. if I spill water on my 360, if it was my fault that my system broke, then i would not mind replacing it. if Am im the only with this kind of mind set? You don't get hair in your food and go back to that restauraunt later so why would are players buying new x360? that is beyond me. i refuse to be jerk around.

My PS2 broke 2-3 years after the system was purchased and it was still fixed for free. Great service. Microsoft is apparently delivering the same great service that sony did last gen.
I don't see why people would buy NEW ones though. Although I did that with a DS (and unlike MS or Sony, Nintendo refused to take responsibility for a system that broke on its own), that was because the price of the repair was close to the price of a new one ...
[QUOTE="LoseEagles1245"]Why would they buy another one? It gets replaced for free.dthach614
theres been a lot incident where their warrant ran out and M$ refused to repair it for free. and yes there are player that keeping buying 360s. I remember reading about someone who is on their 3rd 360. wtf
The warranty is for 3 years. The console's been out for 3 years. I doubt many of the launch consoles survived for 3 years.Oh, hang on, I didn't even really read the OP. Who do you know that actually buys another 360 after getting RRoD? I've never heard of or seen this 0_obeast667i did, my premium screwed up in november, and although it was only a year old, i couldn't be bothered to wait so i bought a new arcade, slapped my HDD on it, my premium is still sitting around waiting for me to send it off to MS for a replacement.
i know, its rather sad isn't it. i'm completely sick of reading the truckloads of bad press i've seen in the past few weeks regarding the ps3...[QUOTE="ninjaxmas"][QUOTE="ZoomZoom2490"]i think because most people dont even know about it, ms is doing a great job keeping this issue at minimum damage with help from the media. On the other hand, ps3 is an awesome hardware but yet it's getting slammed by the NA media every other day for so called " it has no good games" and "bluray is useless"The_Game21x
Oh please. Go back a year, no better yet, go back six months and tell me MS has been doing a good job of covering up the Xbox 360's hardware failures. :|
The only reason the RROD has fallen out of the spotlight is because the problem itself has been all but fixed in newer systems. The reason the PS3 is eceiving all of this bad press is because of its disappointing performance on Black Friday and through the month of November, where sales of the PS3 fell compared to last year's sales while the Xbox 360 and Wii saw nothing but increases over their sales during the same time period.
maybe with the jasper units its fixed. still to early to tell. the falcon sure as hell didn't fix the problem. a couple of my buddies had them and both died within 6 months...Perhaps I'm missing something here, but who would buy another 360 if they could get their RROD'd one repaired for free?Floppy_JimThe 3 year warranty is up for a lot of people, unless I missed something about a life-time warranty.
1.) its a great system
2.) they invested enough money into it (XBL/Games)
3.) dont perfer games on a different system.
4.) because they can..
Really, was this thread even needed?
