If you are going to criticise something make sure you do it right. "Crysis Wars" is not "Crysis Warhead".

crysis wars is crysis warhead's multiplayer

Just because the game has some type of environment or creature we haven't seen in real life, doesn't mean it has an art style. Crysis does different things but treats everything as if that's how it would look in real life. Art style is looking good, even realistic but still having some nuances that vary from what would see in real life than show some type of creativity in the design of.

last time i checked crysis wasnt imginative

yoyowtfbotch

Imaginative? A game needs to be imaginative to have the best graphics? I don't think so. Crysis Warhead has the best graphics in a game so far, anyone who says otherwise should get their eyes checked, thats it. I'm done with the discussion.

maybe crysis's overdone hdr is blinding you and you arent seeing the flaws of its graphics.

the game really is far from impressive.

gears of war has crazier level design and overall look better because of it.

Gears of war clearly does not stand a chance against the graphic beast that is Crysis. Don't get me wrong ....gears of war 1 and 2 both look nice but when it goes toe to toe with Crysis , it just can't compete.

and besides I think Nomad looks a lot more bada** than marcus fenix. Who the heck runs up to an alien with a chainsaw ? That's the most stupidest design I've ever saw. I'm sure when earth gets invaded , we'll all just fight off the aliens with a bunch of good ol chainsaws.

Have you ever asked the reasons why "Crysis Wars" loads faster than "Crysis Warhead"? One should not attribute "Crysis" (the original release) with "Crysis Wars" i.e. it's another product. The Orange Box contains 5 games i.e. single player Half Life 2 EP2, Half Life 2 EP1, Team Fortress (multi-player), Portal (multi-player) and the original Half Life 2.

People who don't have Warhead probably don't know it is on a separate disk from the main game.

"Crysis Wars" was designed to be run on low end mainstream GPUs e.g. Geforce 8600 GS (G86)/8400(G86)/8500(G86)/9300/9400 and 'etc' .

it looks the same.

you come across as someone who thinks they know alot of nothing.

you only have the demo of unreal tournament 3 and full game of crysis maybe.

i have the full versions of ut3 and crysis warhead lol

you can make better comparisons huh?

I have the full version of UT3 with PhysX maps, my serial key is B73Z-GJVP-(classified)-(classified). This is one of the games that I test CUDA NVidia beta drivers. Warmonger is another PhysX test game. Also have full version (box copy) of the following UE3 based games 1. MassEffect, RPG my type of game. 2. Blacksite; This UE3 game is running Havok. For Havok test. 3. Gears Of War. This game introduces me to sign up with Xbox Live service. I play this game with my Xbox 360 owning friends.

I'm currently tinkering (trying to making it faster) Lame MP3 encoder on CUDA2.0.

Gears of War 2 assaults you with the massive scale of its world, built from environments that are immense, imaginative, and ever-moving

gamespy awards gears of war 2 best graphics

massive scale? nice joke... gears renders background imaging and fighting, crysis actually renders the entire island in real time \owned

no that's crysis minimized running in the background control+alt+delete minimizes the game and then you can use browser while games running or whatever.

blahblahblah443

Just to nitpick, yoyowtfbotch is running "Crysis Wars Dx10". A minimised Crysis Warhead is "Crysis Warhead (R)" then the date build.

it's crysis multiplayer running.

single player crysis warhead >> multiplayer crysis get it? moron :|

Crysis and Warhead do have quite good art styles. Though despite the alien enviroment in the first, I do think Warhead has a better art direction. Things like the frozen aircraft carrier - and the frozen crew inside is nothing short of amazing.

Who cares about art style when Crysis has the best graphics and cool awesome looking nanosuits. I don't know why a game is labelled boring when it looks realistic. The realism is what fills in the lack of cool artistic detail in crysis.

all of those screen shots look bland and uninspired. sorry guys but its totally true. i have played it just so you know (highest settings yada yada), it looks fantastic, it does blow your mind at times, but it never had me in awe like MGS4 did. this is why i agree with all the people who keep awarding it. sorry. but artistically Crysis doesn't touch MGS4 with a 9 and a half foot pole.

yup, merely a suggestion. I mean it was an expansion, it was released earlier in the year, it wasn't as high profile and it wasnt much of a deviation from the original. From the looks of this it seems it simply fell under the radar and perhaps its lack of new and outstanding style or technology was the reason.

People keep spouting off about how MGS4 surpasses Crysis in artistic qualities, but honestly, how many of you are actually formaly educated in the arts? Realism is an art form you know. Just because something isn't pleasing to YOUR eyes doesn't mean it lacks artistic qualities.

I sincerely doubt, however, that Crytek were aiming for 'Realism' in an artistic sense. The proof is in the pudding. There's so many liberties taken that deviate from real life in the game that it's hard to call it realistic. For example, colours and light rays are more exaggerated from their real life counter-parts, and those 'movie moments' such as dawn breaking out on the first village you encounter (scripted like that everytime), or a fight in a graveyard, or the camera turning at just the right moment to show your dead ally right in front of your face in an effort to freak you out start shying away from the idea of 'realism'. At the same time, the inherent desire to strive for pixel perfect photorealism is so great (I don't even need to elaborate on it) that both seem to cancel each other out. You are presented with all these wonderful picturesque scenes, but you don't take them for what they are, because you've taken it for granted that everything is realistic because it has realistic textures. Now I disagree with that ronniepage guy simply because almost any still shot of MGS 4 is pretty damn bland. MGS 4 has poor texture work and realistically proportioned models and environments. That is not MGS 4's art direction, however. Yeah, it may strive for realistic looking characters and keep the palette relatively dull, but that's about where it stops. The exaggerated motion-capture, the completely melodramatic blocking of scenes and all the other things that make MGS what it is make the overall art direction unrealistic. That's what MGS is though: an unrealistic, over-the-top B action-movie. In that regard, it truly achieves what it has set out to do.

Google GameCube emulation.

PS; DRM'ed ROM dumping is illegal btw.

GameCube emulator

Running on AMD Athlon 64 at 2.5Ghz single core. If Wii is just 2X over GameCube. Multi-threaded Core 2 Quad or fast Core 2 Duo would do the trick.

Hahahaha, Ilove this thread.

Crysis has no artstyle - proven wrong. So what do they fall to? Crysis' art style has no personailty. Good lord.

That and the Doom 3/UT3 troll got banned plenty of times. He has never shown a singleplayer Crysis Warhead screenshot, which leads me to believe he got the client during the free Crysis Wars weekends and starts LAN servers with textures on minimum just to take unflattering screenshots.

You do understand that pc gamers tend to have both right? I own a wii and a PC, while my little brother owns a 360. Now let me tell you, both of us agree that the pc features the best games to play online or alone, the 360 is most fun to play with friends and the wii is nothing more than a paper weight (I said this jokingly, but I really do read books more than I play the wii).

Poor console fanboys who havnt got to play Crysis, just looking at pictures of it.kozzy1234
yes, there are plenty of "poor" console owners, who would rather not pay $1000 just to play Crysis on minimum settings.

The only way for people justify MGS4 having better graphics is to bring up something that really makes no sense. It's not about art style (are they both not the same?) or what hardware it was run on. It's about pure graphics. Not the game play, story, or cinematic greatness. That's why this isn't making sense to people. I'm no bashing on MGS4 in any way. I just don't understand how it could win best graphics. People need to actually play Crysis on high with a decent res.

I hope you don't really think that?

everybody who has played crysis knows that the game surpasses everything in terms of both technical grapchics and art style. all these non sense comes from people that havent played the game. SamiRDuran
I have both Crysis and Warhead and I definitely don't think Crysis surpasses everything in terms of art style.

I agree, while some things are rather "artsy", there are so many other games that trounce Crysis/Warhead in the art department.

Yeah, I think it has as much "artstyle" as any other game, it really is becoming one of the most overused words in system wars.

To me it seems to have a clear definitive ****of its own, I'm not sure what more people expect, not every game can be anime or cell shaded.

Running out of names are you? :P And yeah I noticed, but the point was to show the nano suit, frozen jungle, alien and that korean guy all of which I think have a nice artstyle to them. If I wanted to cherry-pick the best screens I wouldn't use GS.

[QUOTE="FrozenLiquid"] I sincerely doubt, however, that Crytek were aiming for 'Realism' in an artistic sense.

It isn't a matter of what Crysis was aiming to do, but in the end result. Crysis is a great example of post-expressionism with the metalic environments, the focus on the cold, and the enigmatic overtures.
