its like paying for sex somewhere else when the wife is at home for free....it seems like a good idea at first, but if you get it free at home, then why pay for it.
incase you get smart, the wife at home is just as hot....
xbox live for the pc is free. ms tried to charge them but then realized that pc gamers aren't that stupid. can't say the same for lemmings....$3 a day is freaking my lunch at mcdonalds mayn....
Please tell me. Why pay for an online service when there are two others for free. Ps3's online might not be as good as XBL but you wont need to pay additional money and there is no browser. You also have to wait till a game comes out to play the demo. So tell me, what makes XBL so much better?
Hungry_Jello
they think if you pay for it its better
[QUOTE="brennan7777"]All the while Sony is laughing at all of their PAWNS that were SUCKERED into paying more for a PS3 with BluRay just to win a format war. Talk about brainwashed. Tell me...How does it feel to be used by the company you love so much? same goes for ps2 how dare sony support dvdIts because people are slaves to microsoft, they have been brainwashed. Bill Gates is sitting on his throne laughing at his loyal, oblivious followers... True story and anyone who disagrees with what i just said are only disagreeing because they are brain washed.

lets say u pay $ 50 a year for Live for that money you cold buy the GTA4 DLC, Follout DLC or other arcde games or bunch of overpriced add ons dlc.
here is another example for $ 50 u could buy 7 psone games or flower, burnZombieBurn, wipout HD, pain or lots of LBP add ons or rent 12 movies
Because I don't personally own a PS3, and I want to play on Xbox Live. Is that hard to understand? I'm sure that's the case for others. Please tell me. i used to pay for xbl to enjoy wat i think was the best multiplayer game out,in gears of war 2,and b able to cross chat with my friends in a party(which is really the ONLY reason you would pay for xbl since its the only feature psn doesnt have) but i grew tired of paying for a service just to be in a room with a person who would stand by to get host, and then wreck my whole team cuz he has a really big unfair advantage....it would b worse when they would just kill all of us without letting us move out the spawn...so i said damn why am i wasting my money on this just for headaches? so i cancelled it....and now am happilly playing killzone 2,LPB,and RE5...with not 1 single cheater.
Paying for "superior" online is BS...they both have their share of laggy moments, they are p2p after all...but wheh it happens n the ps3 i just remember hey its free.....
I wanna say "/thread" but im almost sure i'll get modded. Please tell me. Why pay for an online service when there are two others for free. You guys in the USA and Japan are lucky, in the EU they're slowly slapping the 'Internet Tax' on countries, Germany and some the Dutch countries got it already they trying to slap it on France and the UK next. We gonna have to pay for a license to use the internet ontop of subscription fee's and then Xbox Live if this all goes ahead and the whole of the EU enforces the internet tax. The next gen of consoles that offered free internet if the tax happens is the oneI would buy firsteven thoughI love XBL.
Same here, My Xbox live costs under £3 a month, I spend about £2 a day on Coca Cola alone.....I spend more on coffee every day. I'll admit for kids like you it might be a hardship on your allowance, but once you grow up you'll realize it's pretty much change found under the car seat.

[QUOTE="NYrockinlegend My thoughts exactly. No need to pay for online when you can do it on other systems for FREE, and almost the same quality(just less features, which don't prove to be significant). I'm kind of price conscious. If I don't have to pay, I won't.
How it can be nearly the same quality, but with less features? The extra features may not be significant in your eyes, but I find the extra features significant
I use the Party chat feature nearly evertime I go online, as many of my College frineds have it......... PSN doesn't have it.....its an important feature to me.
I see Xbox live as service, I can pay the bill for that service and enjoy it, or I can refuse to pay the bill and go without, its good that Sony offer PSN for free....However Microsft are charging for a service that millions are willing to pay for......and I doubt its going to become free anytime soon
I wonder how many people on here would start paying for PSN orSteamif they announced a pay plan?

I pay for live because it has a whole slew of features that i use and they are always having community games where you can play everyday of the week. Also i like to play online on occassion so i dont necessarily pay the 50 dollars a month i just pay for 3 months or 1 months cause i work alot and i get them for very cheap so....
And for the person who said that psn is always adding stuff live that should tell you how behind sony is on implementing features on psn its and after thought to them and the only time they get off their butts and improve it is when ps3 fanboys complain about a feature that live has and the psn doesnt.
Simple, if I want to play games online on my 360 I have too.
Burnsmiesta
Why not just get a PS3 then? That way you can play games online for free.

thats asuming microsoft will just stop adding more to the service.
beacuse if they want to play online they must. They can say ooooo live is so much better with its cross in game voice chat but It comes down to cause they have no choice if they want to be online.

Yeah, and buying a PS3 would cost as much as eight years of Live right now... And then what about 360 exclusives? Those can't be played on the PS3...I pay because I can.
Seriously if Xbox users want to pay get over it, it doesn't make PS3 better no matter how much you cling to your free online which I might mention gave me fits when I had it.
Because, $4 a month doesn't hinder me at all.
Ambli
Because $0 makes me doesn't hinder me at all.
$50 a year is a game, 5 movies, or gas money I don't need it to make it through in life but it's not worth playing online

So, one game/five movies/one tank of gas is given up once a year...once again, I do not see how that's worth fretting about.[QUOTE="treyskillz"][QUOTE="Ambli"]

i dont see the point since i get the same service for free on the ps3 but if you only have xbox to begin with and u wanna play online i guess i would pay it too.
Please think before writing. If you already owned a 360, would you consider it a good deal to buy a PS3 for 299$ (or more depending on where you live) just to be able to play online multiplayer without paying extra?
Didn't think so. Can we please put this argument to rest once and for all?
because XBL is by far the best online service. I don't mind the $2.40 or whatever it is a month. Thats a cup of coffee
Agreed. Also I play on PSN, but I can't seem to get Halo 3, L4D, or Gears 2 to work. Strange.........Because, $4 a month doesn't hinder me at all.

I'm really amazed people are saying well 50 $ a year isn't bad. It SHOULD BE FREE. I pay for it because I'm forced but, honestly it costs microsoft nothing to keep xbl servers up (probably less than a 10000 $s a year). It is like saying well I bought the ps3 for 2 and a half years and that is like paying 20$ a month for it. No if you bought a ps3 it still costs 600 $.
Because 4$ a month is sooooooooooooo expensive.
Most people who whine about the 50$ XBL cost are the one who can spend 60$ on a game. Go figure.
Why make up things? PC usually has better community, mods, and other stuff. It also has ton of people on voice chat, etc. It is by far superior and free. It is that console wise more people have headsets, custom soundtracks, and cross game chats are the only differences between psn and xbl. Put that together do you honestly believe I should pay 50 $ a year for thisbecause XBL is by far the best online service. I don't mind the $2.40 or whatever it is a month. Thats a cup of coffee
SpideR_CentS
Had to edit because someone will call me a fanboy for saying month instead of year
Go figure. I get the same stuff on psn except for smoe different features. Does this hoenstly matter that I have spent 150 $ already (owned xbox 360 since launch) because they just want to steal my money. I don't understand you at all. It is one of the most horrible things microsoft has done this gen and people are supporting it?Because 4$ a month is sooooooooooooo expensive.

I pay for it because of all the conviniences it carries with it like cross game chat and netflix. I also like it because of the fact the community on most games are better, more people use mics and I get demos for games i want (although silver does that too). Oh also, because $4-5 a month isn't very much and in the long run costs as much as a new game. Plus, look at my sig.93soccerWhy does microsoft force me to pay 4$ a month to play video games online. It is truly gets me angry because they don't give me free stuff (like map packs which would be free on pc). I wouldn't mind if they switched net flix, don't give it to me and let me play online games for free. I would be alot happier

it's not about the money it's the moral they are charging you things that should be free for the purpose of linin their pocketsit's a matter of morality.
PC, PS3 and Wii have it FREE!!!
It isn't that it is immoral it is that it takes me to work 5 hours to pay for xbl (I'm a student so I work in summer at jobs), and I sure don't want to pay for 5 hours of work for something I should have for free.[QUOTE="cainetao11"]I can't seem to get Halo 3, L4D, or Gears 2 to work. Strange.........sexxxyboydid your 360 RROD?No bro. I had a 20 gig, had to sell it when I was laid off and then got an Elite. Never had a problem. I was joking. Saying for some strange reason I can't get Halo 3, L4D, or Gears 2 to play on PS3/PSN. But I do enjoy my PS3 and the games I have for it.

The whole it should be free argument is weak. Water, a necessity for sustaining life should be free. Yet it's perfectly legal to sell water in a bottle. Because you don't have to buy it. You don't have to buy Live. Get a PS3 or PC. Yet I never hear the people who only drink tap water harassing those that buy Poland Spring this much. Let others do with their money what they wish. Please Log In to post.
