Why do you think the PS4 is still outselling the XB1?

It was basically a tie for the last 2 mnths, and this will probably be a win. Wordlwide our world class exclusives and partnerships will allow a large increase on our competitor, eventually passing them.

@microsoftceo9: it wasn't a tie and worldwide the Xbone is getting destroyed. It sold only a 100 units in Japan last week, that's an all time low by the way. If anything June will be a bad month again for Xbone thanks to the Batman bundles. The Xbone continues to struggle and will never outsell the PS4 at this rate.

Here is the real truth that will basically end this thread:

Fact: PS4 has a better controller. Xbone still uses some AA battery kiddie shit.

Fact: nobody gives a **** about Halo 5. Bungie has moved on to Destiny a persistently online world. Halo 5 a single player 720p piece of trash that looks like it belongs on GameCube.

Fact: Xbone is perhaps the largest, fugliest console ever created. Underpowered and what happened to Kinect? First they ditch kinect, next they dead the Xbone entirely.

Fact: Uncharted 4 makes everything on Xbone look like cat piss.

Buying an Xbone you're making a statement. You're saying: "hey look at me, I'm broke and ignorant" because that's the only 2 reasons anyone would own one. lol!

Actually MS has been tying with it's closest competitor for 2 months, and starting this month have all signs pointing to another win.

Sony can't even drop the price, because of shoody construction, lying about it being made to drop in price, their engineers are not world class.Xbox One was made with similar power but able to drop the price. Allowing for access to more consumers.

Pretty much was a tie the last 2 months. The Xbox One isn't struggling, the PS4 is dropping like a rock. Japan is not even relevant or the PS4, so why would you use that excuse for the Xbox/ One?

I don't know how you can categorize 1.35 million PS4 consoles sold in Japan as irrelevant, especially considering Xbox One hasn't even broken 60k in that region...but whatever helps you sleep at night.

You're version of "worldwide destroyed, is a country where consoles there put together is heading right for 4 million when in the same time frame it used to be double that by this point? Then increasing at a faster rate? before that triple that?

Also using a weekly sales average for Xbox in Japan, which doesn't make sense. Xbox has an LTD of over 50,000, PS4 still isn't at 2 million, the range of difference is actually LESS than the 360/PS3 LTDs at this point, that's BAD.

If you wanted a worldwide beating you should use a better example like Germany or europe as a whole, not a weekly sales chart for a country that may not have any consoles have an LTD of 3 million next gen.

Sony closed the NPD lose with Japan only so even if the Xbone wins a month with 13k in NPD , Sony wins WW with just Japan.

If you want to prase the Xbone you need to add PC with it because on its own , it has no legs to stand on outside of the US.

i (well not i and in me..i have a PC and a wiiu..this is a scenario thingiemajig) have no current system to play games on and dont have any particular preference for a game. i just want something to play the latest games on. i do know what the Xb1 and PS4 are generally but havent looked at them in any great detail.

i havent heard a convincing argument as to why most people should pick up an xbox1. the PS4 is more powerful, costs the same, gets pretty much all the same games and isnt lacking any major features.

sony have a stronger pitch (and have made this pitch very clear) hence they are selling more consoles.

Simply pointing out that the sales difference in Japan alone carries the global PS4 sales over XBox, even if the XBox were managing to outsell PS4 in North America...which it is not.

I will say it's entertaining to watch MS fans struggle to find meaningless rationalizations as to why it can't manage to outsell Sony. Personally, my experience with the 360 was, "once bitten, twice shy," and I'm sure I'm not alone in that sentiment. I'll never willingly own another piece of Microsoft hardware after the fiasco I endured.

Also that's not how it works, you can't use one country, and say that would "cover" a loss of another, because then in order for that statement to be accurate you would need sales data in each country released for both consoles. That's not how data works.

No, the margin is getting bigger. The gap in monthly sales is getting marginally smaller, but not the gap itself. Sony continues to build a lager gap every month because they continue to outsell Microsoft every month.

What we don't know is MS latest ones they have refuse to talk about numbers since 2014 when they claim to getting close to 10 million.

I'd bet 500 bucks that if Microsoft's consumer policies went well that Sony had planned on putting out the same ones. They probably had a patch with all the same things in it.

Not only that but if you aesthetically speaking there's hardly any difference thanks to compatibility issues on both consoles. PS4 claims to have better hardware but here we are and some games play better on an Xbox One than the PS4. PS4 still has frame rate issues.

If XOne never started DRM, always-online and mandatory Kinect, they'd be a lot closer to Sony.

Because X1's hardware is crap. Exclusives are a thing of the past, they hardly exist anymore. Nearly everything is multiplatform nowadays and the multiplatform games look better on one system than they do the other the majority of the time. Phil Spencer has done a good job as Xbox head but there's nothing he can do about the crap hardware Mattrick left him with. They're stuck with that.

It's only been close in NA. Everywhere else PS4 continues to crush X1 month after month and its lead keeps getting bigger.

Now there is no proof of that what so ever,and shortly after the PS4 was unveil on February 2013,Yoshida confirmed that sony would not block used games,it was MS who had all that crap,Sony has never hide features under paywalls other than online multiplayer and they did it 2 generation latter after MS introduce it,in fact MS hide features like netflix and even internet explorer under a pay wall,the PS3 came with a build in browser since launch,Sony allowed mods,sony allowed PC PS3 gameplay sony had home all free.

There is tons of things MS has do that sony doesn't,there are other who believe sony change its policies after MS conference as well a lie.

NO dude just because a developer mess up a PS4 version doesn't mean the PS4 isn't stronger,the majority of games run better on PS4 it is a fact and the last few ones how big gaps,specially Project Cars which show up to 14 FPS faster while been 1080p vs the 900p version on xbox.

Uh the last numbers we got was 10 million, which was after that close to 10 million. At the start of December. But we do get some shipment numbers we can add sometimes.

Last gen? The PS3 was on the market one year less than the 360. Conservative estimates have them as tied but most sources say they surpassed the 360. And MS did have some repeat customers that bought more than one console. Not that I'm saying RRoD had to have huge resales....but it did account for some.

The 360 crushed the PS3 for years while it slowly caught up everywhere else, and still holds second with near tie number, both of which are only because of this small little country I'm focusing on.

Most stats I've seen have the 360 in third place. I said conservatively it was tied. And it was on the market one less year. Sony's biggest misstep at the time was the cost. Hence they removed BC to keep the cost down. They wanted the Blu Ray format. Which did beat the format MS tried. Generally MS does great with its OS. They struggle with some other products. Bing. Zune. Etc. But Windows rules and keeps them in business. They have competitive consoles but I don't ever see them being a dominate console. Less so as more and more of their games are playable on PC. That's where Sony keeps their console relevant. You want their IPS? Buy their console.

XB1 introduction fiasco.

Online/Social Media factor (900p/768p XB1 console, most multi-plats don't have better IQ/perf compared to PS4; Eurogamer, etc.).

MS not sticking to their word (double edged).. maybe prompting some people to wait for better MS deals/releases since they're churning them faster than competition, (new cheaper SKU, new controller, new premium controller, etc.)

PS4 ASN/SEA stronger presence due to certain games possibly catering more towards ASN/SEA tastes.

Possibly Better confidence with PS 1st party.

I can still see MS having a chance to overtake US tho. Maybe once Halo 5 releases and start their roll from there? IDK.
