This is what I dont get Lowe you bash anything pro Pc on these forums and you prefer console gaming and yet you spend that type of money on a Pc that seems you will never use for any real Pc gaming.....04dcarraherI like having the option, though it doesn't always work out. For example, Deus Ex HR worked great, and so I played it on PC. Skyrim is broken on triple monitor, and so I said screw it and picked up a 360 copy on sale and am playing that.
Are you going anywhere with this train of thought?

Why don't you get that? Experiencing PC gaming as it is meant to be experienced does not, and should not, automatically mean the PC is your world. I love PC gaming, but console gaming is awesome as well.

Only thing that makes zero sense on lowe0 argument is that he always claims not to be a Pc gamer but plays Pc games. You always see him in the Pc threads goign off on Pc gamers while claiming himself not. Those 2 defining parts conflict with each other. You do not have to be exclusive to any one platform but to state such nonsense is hilarious at best and sad at worst.

That statement still does not define that he plays and enjoys playing games on a Pc just as if any other platform. When you come into threads going off on any Pc gamer (trust me, lowe0 and me go back years on SW now) then try to define yourself as not a pc gamer it sounds like a pure hypocrit. I too don't associate with the group of "Pc gamers" but that does not define tht when I enjoy a game on the Pc, I am at the moment a Pc gamer. I do know where your coming from lundy but with all the jabs lowe0 does in SW over the last 3-4 years, you start to think of the hilarity of it. Me and lowe0 have argued this for years but you will still see this type of issue come up with him everytime he comes in troll jabbing some pc focus members statement.

Why not? One can enjoy an activity and yet not associate with those who participate in said activity (if it is a single-person oriented activity). I don't see any necessary association with the stereotypes, nor the actual gamers. The same could be said of team supporters not supporting the activity of the fans (Many teams in England had very aggressive fans, such as a Warrington vs Wigan rugby match I attended).
I know lowe's activity, and whilst I may disagree on many points of his, he is a well articulated poster. His points are not made scathingly.

Okay, fine, state your case. What do I have in common with the PC gaming community?Being a Pc gamer and having something common with a community is 2 unique things. At the moment you start a game on your sli'd triple screen beast rig, you are a Pc gamer jsut as me turning on a 360 and starting a game has the same variable. That is the pure base. It's already obvious the PC is superior. Come on lads stop recycling facts and bullying casuals!

360 has Witcher 2, Crysis 1-2
And the 9.5/10 Dark Souls, Gears 3

This is a debate forum. By definition, I'm going to have to pick a side. And a "beast rig" would have at least three cards in it, if not two dual-GPU cards. Two GPUs and a quad-core instead of a hex-core is still pretty mid-range in the spectrum of currently available hardware.

You have to pick a side? Don't really see that one considering I never have taken a "side". That does not even begin to discuss how you somehow deny yourself as being a Pc gamer soley because you don't agree with what you believe the "community" dictates. Doesn't make any lick of sense to me
Personally, 2 mid range gpu's slied, on a good quad core with triple screen would put you a bit farther then mid range even at current available hardware.

It really doesn't make sense to you to say "I don't really agree with that guy, or that guy, or that guy, or... (repeat); maybe I shouldn't call myself one of them"? Seriously? Try the other side on for size - how ridiculous would it sound if I were to just start going along like I was one of you? Debating is one thing but your stating your whole argument that "I must choose a side" therefore I choose to troll Pc gamers while not calling myself a Pc gamer. When challenged, I show off my Pc (this is the second or 3rd time i;ve seen you do this). You do know I don't go along with ALot of people right? (Notice I am challenging your nonsense that your not a Pc gamer because you don't follow some set "community?).
Can I ask who you are talking about with "I was one of you?" (Lumping in people as part of this "community" conspiracy?
Man, your argument has lost some substance here. I don't agree with a prethara of members on this forum be it for any platform neither do I side with some affiation base on some "community". That does not change anything that when I play my Pc I am at that time a Pc gamer just as playing on a console would dictate a console gamer. Personally, your whole denial argument as justification for trash talk sounds offbase. You like consoles, you like the Pc, you don't agree with others.. simple but to try to distance yourself to trash talk is just pure hypocrisy bro.

Please. If my only interest was talking trash, I could do that with just about anything. Hell, I've spent plenty of time trashing PS3 fans for their arrogance during the early days of this gen.Besides, you're blaming me when the whole discussion could have easily been avoided. The guy who said that I didn't have a gaming PC could have paused a moment, said to himself "do I have any proof for the accusation I'm about to make?", and subsequently skipped the whole thing.
Hell, the legions of people who have lifted Yahtzee's material and taken it upon themselves to "educate" the "peasants" could have avoided the whole mess as well. (And before you ask about the obvious converse, yes, I've taken fellow consolites to task for attempting the whole "basement-dwelling virgin" line of argument.) So, it's a touch late to blame me for having a perspective borne from countless examples, not just here, but from other fora as well (Blue's, HardOCP, and Steam's User Forums, for a few examples).

Please note, my whole discussion is a bit outside the scope of this troll thread. Its about your denial of being a PC gamer, playing and enjoying many a game on the Pc, and feeling you somehow are above others and can jab at them for playing "that platform". Sounds like you have some deep down stereotype issue at play when it comes to Pc gaming in general. I also have many issues but that does not disallow that many of the jabs you make at members on the Pc comes off pretty hilarious considering they incompass yourself. You may try to state you somehow above being a "pc gamer" but thats meaningless since you play games on your PC. I understand you don't agree with many PC gamers and have somehow clumped all of those who play on the pc as "that community" but that does not deter anything.

I don't jab at people because of their choice of platform; I jab at them because of their choice of words. I have no problem with someone wanting to game on PC, but I do like to pick apart posts from people who consider themselves superior to console gamers, because I have such a convenient counterexample. I liked picking apart PS3 gamers who thought 360 gamers were just too poor to pay $599 for a console. I liked picking apart Wii gamers who insisted that only children enjoy mature-rated games.Of course, there are plenty of other times when I've posted rationales for my opinions and why I like things to work the way they do. Those invariably get ignored. I can explain why I'm statistically more likely to get the kind of game I want from matchmaking, or lean on my experience implementing user interfaces to explain why even a well-designed UI for a mouse and keyboard just isn't going to work well from a couch with a gamepad, but all I'll get in response is the same sequence of stock answers:
So, what's the point? What benefit would I get from joining up?

PC is, with no doubt in my mind, the best platform for gaming this year. Some of the very best games came out on PC and a hell of a lot more than the consoles. Not a big shocker there. It might take more work and upkeep but it is a far superior tool for gaming, when properly used.jer_1
The only PC game i played this year is Witcher 2 and i plan to buy it on 360 for the far better controls and graphics than my PC
I mainly play Dark Souls these days, which is not on PC
Also Clash of Heroes on XBLA, again not on PC
And Gears 3, Halo CE remake, not on PC
And Rayman Origins, not on PC
Generally only a 10% of the games i want to play are on PC and all of those are also on my xbox 360
.
So, how was PC the best platform for gaming this year ?

Why I prefer console gaming.
Its cheaper, I bought a console when it was released and it can still play games today perfectly, I can't say that about my PC.
I prefer Xbox Live to Steam, I don't mind paying a monthly fee especially when there are deals like a 1 month for $1. I personally prefer Xbox Live to Steam though because XBL parties work great for me and I just perfer the mechanics and look of Xbox Live to Steam.
I'm not interested in modding, I've experienced it on PC in games like CSS and TF2 and while it can be fun for a while, it lost its appeal for me and doesn't influence me enough to care for it.
I honestly don't care if the graphics are better either, if the graphics on my 360 looked like original Xbox graphics then it would but I'm perfectly fine with console graphics.
I can't stand the majority of PC gamers because they always seem to have a problem or a pole up their ***. The fact they boycotted Left 4 Dead 2 when it was coming out, Boycotted BF3 when those who pre ordered it were going to recieve exclusive bonuses, feel the need to constantly remind console gamers how much better PC graphics are as if we didn't hear them the first 50, 000 times. I'd honestly rather hear some annoying kids over a mic on Xbox then PC gamers whining about how companies don't respect them enough or how console gamers are jokes. A lot of them also pirate games and I don't support that.
I just perfer consoles but PC gamers won't accept opinions that differ from theirs, at least most of them.
think you saw, or only listened to, one side of the many arguments. when someone comes out saying the PC doesn't have that much better graphics or that the few hundred dollars more for a decent gaming PC isn't worth the money is when the ranting about PC superiority usually starts. Why I prefer console gaming.
Its cheaper, I bought a console when it was released and it can still play games today perfectly, I can't say that about my PC.

I don't know anyone and didn't read anyone here even saying they boycotted Battlefield 3, unless they were diehard Call of Duty fan.
Games for Windows Live is almost exactly the same as Xbox Live, but free.
you're argument bout how a game from 360 launch is still playable on the 360 is also pretty off base. if you had a gaming PC in 2005 you could still play games that were 2005-6 quality on that system. same as with a 360 or PS3.
the "system wars" going on are mostly bored kids starting crap online just to be in some BS they are too p*ssy to get into in real life. "you're a hermit!", "you're an ignorant noob!", "i have better graphics!", "i have better games!". you're all a bunch of idiots!! see, it's fun. these are a great place to let off some steam at some semi-innocent fools.
Good for you.Why I prefer console gaming.

For reference: lowe0's steam profile has LOADS of games, and at most one has 1-2hrs of playtime. I bet his favorite passtime is pissing money into the wind

Maybe he plays in offline mode a lot.
Thats what I did before landline broadband was available here.
That can't be possible, he's on here quite a bit. Must have an internet connection most of the time :P[QUOTE="topgunmv"][QUOTE="wis3boi"]

That can't be possible, he's on here quite a bit. Must have an internet connection most of the time :P I'm usually on here from my phone. Most of my free time is in chunks of a few minutes, so I use the device I already have in hand. But yes, my desktop has a connection all the time.Dark Souls
Dragons Dogma
Silent Hill Downpour
Catherine
Devil May Cry
Vanquish
Bayonetta
Castlevania Lords of shadow
Enslaved Odyssey to the West
Shadow of the Damned
Rayman Origins
El Shaddai
Final Fantasy XII - 2
I could keep going but you get the idea and I didn't list exclusives on the consoles because it wouldn't be fair
But thats reason's enough for me to not be to bothered about PC gaming
