A gaming PC is more expensive than a console. PC's graphics are better but that's about it. They're bigger than a console & take up more space, you have to fiddle around with compatibility issues, my friends have PS3, the experience isn't as good or as comfortable as on a console, 21inch monitor v 32" TV etc.Weenski

PC allows you to play all your favorite oldies with all new visuals. Play GTA : SA using a DS3 or 360 gamepad with rumble feature.

play Wii games in HD, with/w/o AA.

I like console exclusives and could care less about RTS and MMO's. Plus.................the so called big graphic jumps have not impressed me (Battlefiend and The Witcher aside). Plus if I started acting like Hermits my girlfriend would leave me, my friends would quit calling, and I would shoot myslef for thinking I was better than everyone else because I choose to play THE SAME GAME ON A MORE EXPENSIVE MACHINE.

because I dont have a pc powerful enough and it would cost money to get one...I have many pc games *just purchased the entire valve collection* but I dont have a pc capable. I'm looking into buying a laptop capable of playing atleast some of teh older games on my steam library and other things.... but the one im on right now isn't capable and is dying as it is.

Pc gamers of all kinds outnumber console gamers 10 to 1.

You're only right if you count people with mid range Pc's and higher. Then yes, the install base is larger on the cosnoles. But then you have to think abotu the proportion of console gamers who buy Madden and Call of Duty and nothing else ( a VERY larger portion), vs PC gamers who tend to buy a lot more games in various genres.

I play pc its great. I mean pc gaming isn't that more expesive. Most people spend anywere from 400-800 for a pc/lpatop. For a few hundard more you can have a gaming machine. I find that people forogot that that gaming pcs do more than just game. Its a full fledged pc.

And outside of 1 in 100 games. All games play better on pc. 1080p 60 fps and AA. If its done right high res textures and amazing lighting

Saying that someone is spewing idiotic nonsense is definetly an insult. And it seemed like the intent of your message was to say that PC gamers only insult console gamers when provoked, which was not the case in your very post. I was kind of messing with you, but I feel like some PC gamers don't even realize when they are being insulting or condenscending.

• A lot of games (uncharted, demon's souls, god of war...) aren't available on pc

I would never deny that there are just as much PC elitist morons spewing idiotic nonsense as well, I'm just talking about this particular side to it.

I game on PC and consoles equally and I'm really getting tired of hearing all of the falsehoods about PC gaming in the living room.

My philosphy is this:

I let the game determine which platform I play it on. If it's a console port that takes advantage of the higher resolutions that a PC can handle, it gets played in my living room PC.

If it has no advantages to being played on a PC or it has coop, I'll get it for the consoles. If it's an RTS or MMO, I'll play it on my bedroom PC.

Exclusives are self explanatory.I don't expect everyone to adhere to this, it's just where I'm coming from. I enjoy both consoles and PC and it's sad to see that some people can't.

My PC was £440, bought it in September and I can max any game and get 30fps+, which i'm happy with tbh. I swear consoles were around £300 - £400 when they came out?

How many JRPGs are on PC? How many came out this year? Chantelise? FF 14? Rusty Hearts? Exactly. That would be the only reason I would move to being a full time PC gamer. I do play tons of indie and other random games I like but still won't give my consoles up for PC gaming. Sorry, I have a better chance to finding a wider collection of JRPGs on consoles/portables. I know the PC has tons of WRPGs that I like but yeah if the JRPGs just suddenly moved to PC that is the day i'll stop buying consoles.MistressMinako

Cause gears of war 3 aint on it. Mouses dont look that good for controlling games.

I do game on PC, I have Morrowind that I used to play regularly with some graphic enhancer mods, and I used to play KOTOR and some other older games. But the reason why I don't play on PC with new games is because of two reasons:

The cost to upgrade: Yes it is more expensive and Hermits downplay it. If you want to run a new game well you have to upgrade more than just a graphics card, you have to get a good disc drive and a new cooling system and bunch of other things ect... and none of these are cheap. And these upgrades will only last youa couple years at the most, after that you have to go through the whole process all over again.

The Hassle and Time: This is something that Hermits downplay BIG time! Like I mentioned above about having all the correct upgrades, well you also have to know how to put them in and make sure it's the right settings ect... and this takes ALOT of research and it can be downright frustrating! Messing with settings to get them to run a game smoothly can be a nightmare, and you'll reguarly come across a bunch of confusing error screens in the process. I upgraded my PC to try and play Withcer 2 but everytime I did I kept getting errors. It was a pain in the ass and I gave up. And now since I upgraded I can't play some of my older games, but Morrowind still works thankfully.

There are good aspects of PC gaming that I do like, Steam for instance is awesome and blows PSN and Xbox Live out the water. And there are some cool mods out there, but overall it really isn't worth the time or the money IMO. And I know some Hermits will say "oh it's easy to fix" but it realy isn't, and I'm not stupid either. They are just as bad as any other fanboy who tries to justify something. Also I prefer to play games with my PS3 controller on my HD TV from my couch. I know you can do it on PC aswell but not without spending alot of money and time to get it to work properly.

Also I hate M/K, give me a console controller anyday.

1) Because Tales, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, Metroid, Xeno, Red Dead, and the entire JRPG genre don't exist on the PC.

2) Emulate them? Ya I wanna play Tales with a Mouse and Keyboard, also.. call me old fashioned but I like owning the game instead of pirating and emulating it. This is even more important with a series like Tales that needs fan support. Playing Skyward Sword with a mouse and keyboard instead of Wii MotionPlus and a nunchuk? Oh plz..

3) I still play PC games, but I don't upgrade it, there isn't anything on the PC at the moment that grabs me to the point where I want to upgrade my pc and get the best out of it. Maybe I will for The Old Republic, but I heard it's not very taxing on hardware so I may not have to.

4) A PC is only really ideal for FPS, RTS, MMO and WRPGs. FPS is getting boring, I am not interested in RTS, MMO depends on the game, and I dislike WRPGs.

I love how PC elitists brag about how mouse and keyboard is the superior control setup. Ok, that's a fair point and all, but where other than shooting games and RTS can it prove its superiority? and pretty much the majority of PC gamers primarily play the 4 genres I mentioned in the last point.

5) This is a personal reason, but I am left handed, I've tried remapping controls but it doesn't seem to work for me. So I play with the default WASD setup and it's still a bit awkward for me, I've tried numpad, IJKL, PL;' But then it just feels more awkward, I have given myself 1 week with each of the three setups. When you are physically moving something you are going to use your dominant hand, which is why I hold the mouse in my left hand, my wrist is more flexible and easier to control in my left so it's impossible for me to adjust to right hand. Controller doesn't require hand dominance as buttons are controlled by your index finger and thumbs and there is no physical movement beyond your fingers, it feels much more comfortable for me.

You could use a controller. Also, emulation does not mean you have to pirate. You can actually own a legitimate copy of the game. Anyway, no emulation discussion here :(

Also, you can actually use your Wiimote and nunchuck on PC.

I do game on PC, but I'm not fanboyish to think that consoles are irrelevant. My PC doesn't quite satisfy all my gaming itches, especially when it comes to local co-op gmes.
