You don't need a gaming PC to play PC games, nor do you need a very powerful PC. For every game that requires a legit gaming PC there are probably 100 others that don't.

There are also so many hundreds of free games, or sub-$10 games out there that it's not too expensive to get started.

As far as gaming potential, the laptop I have is crap. I'm not sure I have a dedicated video card.

Dedicated video cards aren't important, however if you have one of those Asus EeePC type thingies then you can't really play any games.

PC has a 30 year long backlog, and has a crazy amount of indie support, and many more low-profile games.

You could, at the least, try out some demos on your current laptop for modern games just to experiment with what it can run. I'm willing to bet you'd be surprised.

I've got a terrible laptop myself that I bought for $300 a couple years ago, and it's got some games on there. I know I put The Witcher on there at least.

Maybe I'll give that a try. I should be getting a new one for college so maybe it'll be better. Thanks Ly.

I game on PC too, but mostly on ps3. I just find ps3 exclusives the best, no hacks online (no COD), trophies, PSN friends. PC gaming for me is in second place right now.

Well, it's just a suggestion.

I just know when I began PC gaming I was 5 years old, had a store-bought computer that took 30 minutes to boot up, and I had not even the slightest idea what the concept of "gaming hardware" was :P

But it's good thing to at least try if you enjoy gaming because the PC provides games in literally every single genre imagineable, so there is always something for everyone, and plenty more to discover.

If you don't like it then whatevs. It's the only way I recommend getting introduced to PC gaming though. I dislike that people have this idea that they need a gaming PC to get started PC gaming. It'd be like saying that someone needs an Xbox 360 to get into console gaming when someone could easily buy a Super Nintendo for $10, and get access to a hundred awesome games they've never seen before.

[QUOTE="GioVela2010"]And very very very very few PC Games have 2 player split screen, let alone 4 playerGioVela2010

Console a pretty much having the same issue.

Nearly 100 Xbox 360 split screen games alone :|

This is what I hate about System wars: of those games that have split screen they ALL also have multiplayer. You demonize something that has BOTH. Somehow options are a bad thing to you idiots.

I don't see why it bothers people how others want to game
