Why even get the Orange Box for the 360?

The whole "i'm getting it because my PC is crap" arguement is pretty sad. My 4 year old PC can still max out Half Life 2 and it still looks better than the 360 version. Runs faster and has a higher resolution.

The whole point of a game like TF2 is also to customize with your own maps, models, sounds, etc. What happens when you are bored of the TF2 maps on the 360 version? You can do nothing.

It baffles me that people would buy it for the 360 even though they have a rig that can run it just fine

This is coming from a hardcore lemming too.

For the multiplayer, if it runs on PC, it'll be better on PC. Huge volumes of dedicated servers, serious competitive play if you're into that, and modded maps. Console online gaming is like a huge crapshoot. Sometimes you get lucky, and you get a decent game that doesn't suck horribly, and other times, the lag sucks horribly. I can't imagine playing TF2 P2P. I'm doubting a decent game is even possible, at least compared to the PC experience.

The main reason is that I'll be able to play with my XBL chums. I've been having the gaming time of my life with them for 5-6 years now, they're awesome!

Plus, I already own the HL Xmas edition which has HL1, HL1 DM, HL2, HL2 DM and HL2 Episode 1. As you see, I have no need to get it again.

Yeah the PC version, over the 360 version by far.. Hate alot of console FPS games, especially somthing as fast as TF2 but I guess I grew up on the kb/mouse deal.

cause my P.C can't run it, it's that simple, maybe to simple for you to understand, if i was ever gonna upgrade my computer it wouldn't be for orange box.

But i will get this for the xbox 360 anyway, i mean most people havn't even touch the game yet, and you're saying it's gonna be bad for the 360, if you wanna upgrade my PC i will get it for the PC.

Because I don't play many games on my PC and my PC is not hooked up to my TV, nor do I plan to do this anytime soon. I'd rather sit in my comfy chair with a wireless remote and play the game on my HDTV than do the same game at my computer desk.

Right now I'm going with the 360 version since some thug stole my gaming PC and LCD screen. From what I hear the two versions are not too different, just mods and online community seperate them.

I want to play it on PC but I already own HL2 and Epis1. I may get it for 360 just to have it and add to my gamer score. No need to download TF2 via Steam, I'll be too busy with UT3 and Halo 3, if I ever decide to go online gaming.

Weren't the console version suppose to have updated graphics or something like that? so matter how good you pc was it would still look better on consoles? They might have done that update for PCs, but I think it's just consoles. I don't know it this is true, I just remember reading it somewhere.

How about this... I just want to sit on my ass on the couch and stare at my TV, which is several times larger than my pc monitor. How's that for a reason? Oh, and you can trade in the console version down the road if you wish... not so with Steam.

How the **** is people saying "My PC is crap?" sad? Not everyone has a PC that handle games like HL2. My PC (which is about 4 years old) can just about handle HL2. Also, what if the person doesnt have access to the internet? How the hell are they meant to install it? And let's face it, having to run Steam (Hate the bloody application) to play HL2 is just annoying -_-

And besides, why not let 360 owners play HL2? It's a great FPS, I think everyone should have a chance to play it!

You can use the wireless 360 controller if you really want to - meaning you run the game with better graphics (why spend serious cash on an HDTV unless you're going to make serious use of it?), mods, and superior online. Of course, as PC gamers are aware, there are plenty of input options that work comfortably from the sofa.

Bigger isn't better either, as far as monitors are concerned, - a $1000 40" HDTV obviously doesn't have the same picture quality as a $1000 20" studio-quality monitor. Sit at the appropriate viewing distance, and they both fill the same amount of your vision - the only things that's left to do is cry at the startling difference in image fidelity.

The TC is correct, playing this game on the 360 is a sin. It's wonderful that more people can experience a small part of what Half-Life is about - but the game is about all the expansions, mods, and PC community that go into it. To put it in perspective, I spent plenty of time with the game back in the day, yet I've never actually played through the Half-Life 2 main game. Of course, ignorance about what PC gaming is, and isn't, is always pretty epic in SW, so I full expect this topic to go downhill with the usual console-fanboy comments. It isn't as though this is the first time people have had to correct you for this bit of misinformation.

Simple. I like to sit on my couch and look at my 40' lcd than sit at my computer desk and look at my 19' lcd monitor...

subrosian

That's a pretty big typical excuse Lemmings have been saying lately. I hope it doesn't become a trend.

Why? because you can connect your PC to a LCD TV? Not many do, if any. K&M on lap = crazy talk

I have a futon on the floor in front of my tv. As a result, I can play prostrate, beer by the ready. I'm sorry, but there isn't a computer chair in the world I'd rather sit on than that wonderful, faux suede futon of mine. And that's not even mentioning the difference inthe size of my home entertainment speakers to my pc speakers, both of which are 5.1.

If playing the 360 version is a sin, I'll see you in hell.

Agreed. You can hook up your PC to the TV. As for the keyboard/mouse, get wireless ones (to navigate your OS to run the game). It's not really an eyesore if its near the TV/entertainment center.

But the thing is, most people only have one PC... that they keep in another room. No one wants to unhook it, and bring it to their living rooms, hook it back up, unhook when done.

Some build a second PC for the living room though... but to each his own. I would prefer to just play it on a console at this point.

Because I don't have a desk/comfortable place to play my PC, so the 360 gets my lovin til I move to a new residence.

My computer is 7 years old, and I can barley run Far Cry on low...
