1. Consoles use less power then high end PCs. The old 360 uses 203Watts max and the new falcon chip is down to 175W max.Probably but who cares ?

2. No need for constant upgrades. A high end PC from 2005 will not even be able to run Alan Wake on the lowest settings while the 360 from 2005 will run it fine I agree

3. Consoles are less noisy. After installing a game on the 360s HD its super quiet. PCs with giant fans and graphics cards humming along plus that 750watt psu are as noisy as a airport runway. No, my 360 is louder then my PC. It depends on the case you buy

4. Consoles get almost all the games that the PC gets plus great exclusives. The opposite can also be said

5. Price wise consoles win too. $200-$300 for a 360 is about the price of a good graphics card. True

6. PC graphics aren't leaps and bounds ahead of console graphics. Killzone 2, Heavy Rain, GOW III, Fight Night Round 3, and more show off what consoles can do. although killzone looks sweet it doesn't compare to ... let's say ... crysis

7. Consoles have 5 year life spans at the very least while PCs need to be constantly upgraded just to run the newest games on low settings. Windows Vista is considered an upgrade. Wait ? What ? That's the same arguement as 3... but formulated more lousy. Oh and i thought Vista was **** too in the beginning, but now that I'm using it for a while I'm really starting to like it.

8. PC developers fear that pirating issues will effect game sales. Epic is no longer a PC game developer and Gears 2 is not coming to the PC. Pfft Epic... Gears is a console game and UT3 was ****

nVidiaGaMer

Overall you fail because you posted the same arguement twice.

1. If power consumption is an issure for you, then you really don't have to money to even consider gaming as a hobby.

2. Upgrading is an option for PC, not a requirement. A highend PC from 2005 is equivalent or slightly better than a 360.

3. Consoles are not less noisy. I have an Antec 900 case and it's dead silent and I'm still using 6 fans. The 30 makes more noise than any PC I've ever owned.

4. PC wins when it comes to games and there is no arguing this. The list of games that someone has surely posted already proves this.

5. PC is HANDS DOWN a better deal than a console. Consoles are a toy, nothing more. PC's are, in addition to a toy, a tool as well. If your console was as flexible and useful as a PC you wouldn't have had to go out and buy the PC you are using to post this nonsense.

6. PC graphics are considerably better than console graphics...again, there's no argument here.

7. Again, upgrading is optional. I'm using windows xp.

8. Wrong. If you were right PC wouldn't have the most games, most exclusives, and most highly rated titles.

Now, before you go on bashing PC gaming, maybe you should actually give PC gaming a serious consideration. Your lack of knowledge about PC gaming has, yet again, made you look very uninformed. You simply can't argue about something that you don't know anything about. Why consolites keep trying is beyond me.

PC gaming isnt dead or anything, it is just having a hard time because of pirating and higher prices. I for one am a console gamer. I bought a high end pc a few months ago so I could play pc games, but in all honesty, im still not using it that much. I still prefer my console, and thats because theres just to much fun in playing it for me. Right now im enjoying Fallout 3, Fifa 09, Gears of War 2, Little Big Planet and Fable 2, now those are all great games that can easily be played for tons of hours. However at my pc theres still wow, which im not planning on getting back to, and then theres the civilization games which I still play now and then. Although I might judge in favor of the consoles, im in no way what you could call a fanboy. The fact that I have said to myself im not buying any more new console games untill I have atleast completed fallout, a season of Fifa and most of fable 2 (Wanted to buy: Resistance 2, Tom clancey's endwar and Guitar hero) whilest im still strolling the pc-stands from day to day to (desperatly) look for cool new releases, does, in my opinion, mean something.

1. An average gaming pc with geforce 9800gt/8800gt and a core 2 duo8400 uses about 200W

2. I dont think a $150-200 update every 2-3 years is a big issue since for xbox you have to pay 50 a year for online play plus 50-100 for a hard disk

3. Less noisy? i'm sorry have you ever hear 360? In Pc's you have the option for big 120-140mm low RPM fans that produce way less noise than the 80mm fans of the xbox with a better result ( let alone you can built a completely noiseless pc using watercooling)

4.Pc gets almost all console games plus great exclusives like crysis, sins of solar empires, penumbra series, stalker etc etc etc (See that goes either way)

5.$60 console game >$40 Pc game, $50 console online play>$0 pc online play, Console DLC always cost>pc DLC Usually is free

6.Crysis, World in Conflict, Stalker Clear Sky.Besides Average pc gaming Vga=1080p gaming , Consoles=720p gaming ( many times even less)

7.A gaming Pc can last 5 years with the correct $150-200 upgrade in its 2nd or 3rd year. Let alone Pc's have almost 100% BC something consoleshave in avery small degree

8.As long as there are developers like blizzard stardock and valve pc gaming will always be around and beign the biggest gaming platform ( videogame revenues in 2007 were 30% of total videogame revenues biggest than any single console and its beign proven with links in gamespot forums just look for it)

I agree with all your points. Also add, why sit at a desk to play a game when you can sit on a comfortable lounge (IMO)...

Because a good chair is much better when it comes to games that require great effort (concentration, reflexes, strategy etc),.

I can say the same thing. There limitations for mouse and keyboard for sports games, fighting games, racing games, etc.

jerkface96

But we have the OPTION to use a console-like controller, so that's really no limitation at all. I'd like to see you have the OPTION to run these on your console:

And before you say "But, but the smalls screenz!":

So no, it's not the PC that has control limitations, it's the consoles.

i recall there was a mech game for the original xbox that had a controller that was some what similar, console games can have advanced controls liek thos but ultimately, i dont play the ps3 or xbox to learn how to pilot a plane or mech

it was called steel battalion and it was $250 the price of a Wii lol

Its a shame you prefer console gaming to PC, nVidiaGaMer, for all the reasons given in this thread. You even have a decent rig - so there is no arguing with you. Some people like tea and others prefer coffee - youve tryed both. I suggest you sell that hardware to some kid who wants to get into PC gaming. Use the money you make to buy some console games and enjoy. But you should respect the platform where all begins. FPS,RTS, MMORPG, online, simulations, management, harddrives, GPUS, CPUs, control methods, AA, AF.........the list goes on, im sure others can post the rest. Without consoles, PC gaming is just PC gaming. Without PC gaming, consoles have nothing to strive for or imitate. PC gamers in 1998 playing what? Console gamers in 2008 playing what? (hint google if your to young to remember). And in 2018?

i like console gaming over PC because i suck really bad at using a keyboard and mouse for some reason...i just can't do it and expect everything to be alright :(. i know that i could always buy a controller for PC games but then i feel like everyone with a keyboard and mouse on multiplayer has a edge over me lol. at least on consoles everyone uses controllers :)

I'm just lazy like that.
