Why is Gears of War 3 so disappointing

The original was a good game , the 2nd one was pretty good except for the broken multiplayer, but the 3rd installment was complete crap. The story was garbage with a crap ending, i mean if Mass Effect 3 hadn't come along Gears 3 would have had my vote for worst ending ever. Its such a sad thing to see EPic games whoring themelves for MS and producing this garbage.

It's my favorite in the series but it was a little too easy.

The ending left too many questions unanswered. The boss battles were crap. The weapons still need balancing in multiplayer. Get rid of the saw-off shotgun. Everything else was great.MercenaryMafia

It's ok, the story is stupid but it does have a few fun fights. But it's too short and the only reason people buy it is for the MP and that's it.

I didn't think it was dissapointing, just not very outstanding.

I actually thought the campaign was pretty disappointing as well -- 2's was the best to me which is ironic considering the hate it gets. However, Beast, Horde, and the incredible multiplayer more than make up for the repetitive campaign in my opinion.

I played it on coopertive, I wasn't alone. My friends already beat it before I did and were experts at it. I was the noob lol.

One of the reasons I stayed away from the competetive Gears scene is the mentality that everyone has to play a certain style to be "skilled"; in this case, rolling around with nothing but the gnasher.

The game is great otherwise, I got pissed off that having bought the game late I was required to get DLC to enjoy the online properly; servers were a selling point (especially after Gears 2).

the campaign is top notch, love it. The multiplayer on the other hand is a disappointment. why have 4 other starting weapons when everyone uses the gnasher and you get harrassed by the "pros" about being a noob when you use one of the other 4? Horde is fun, but i like vanilla horde.

To be fair, I didn't get to do much in the game. I just kind of wandered around trying to get used to things, and my friends were all rushing ahead of me.

The boss fights were fun, but the storlyine it'self was stupid. I never liked Marcus Phonix or any of the other Gears charecters, they are just macho swearng idiots who shoot big guns.I thought it was laughable.

Though the MP is perfect, much better than Gears 2 (for some reason we could never play that game online) I like the horde mode (I think that's it's name) where you play as the locust and you take down the Gears team. It's really fun and has variety.

Probably one of the best MP experiences I ever had (my favorite though was RDR and Killzone). It makes some people mad, but IMO the Gears series is the best series on 360. It's even better than Halo in both SP and MP. But Gears 2 has the best SP in the series.

I am more excited for the new Gears than the new Halo (I stopped liking Halo when 3 came out, was very disappointing to me).

It is annoying when people say that, I can't tell you how much hate mail I've gotten about "being a lancer whore" But at least in Gears 3 competitve the Lancer is actually worth something.

And the biggest problem with the sawed-off wasn't the fact that noobs were corner-camping and killing everyone with an OP weapon. It was the fact that EXPERIENCED players were using the sawed-off. A pre-nerf sawed-off walbouncer was your worst nightmare. Not only could he move just as fast as you could, but he didn't have to aim!Plagueless

It just saddens me that Epic finally got around to getting a far more balanced game than previous entries giving players more variety and play styles to use, and yet the competitive community just wants what made Gears 1 & 2 so broken as an MP game.
