But the pc will get a next-gen version, as always.

Alienware_fan

A poorly optimized one at that, I remember I waited for GTA 4 PC version, then couldn't run the thing when it released even though I had a decent system, bought an Xbox and glad I did, didn't have to worry about whether my games would run anymore ...come to think of it GTA 4 is the game that got me into console gaming, ahhh memories

Of which they fixed right after release with a patch.

No.

GTA4 is best because it was more mature but still over the top.

but GTA5 will be crap like older games. i dont see the apeal of these games. all it has is over the top that ppls call "fun", immature dating and night club scenes and blah blah blah.

mafia 1 is still better than any GTA game.

[QUOTE="MK-Professor"]

[QUOTE="call_of_duty_10"] You don;t play at 853x480 because its not your monitor's native res and the pixel density will be too low for that size. Wait, let me guess. You are one of those people who think that 720p on YOUR monitor looks as good as 1280x720 on a 17.5" monitor with native res of 720p.

The screenshot with amata proves that vanilla pc and ps3 are almost identical.I provided screenshots to prove my point.Max settings on PC=PS3. You have been proven wrong by the evidence.Just saying that vanilla PC version is vastly better won't change the screenshots that I posted.

Did you start gaming on a PC in 2012?Because that's the year when EVERY game had a FAR superior PC version, with better lighting, shadows, textures and all that jazz.Almost all multiplats were ports from 2005-2010,having no advantage on PC other than res,aa,af and framerate.

call_of_duty_10

1280x720 look exactly like a native res on a 2560x1440 monitor because it is exactly 4 times smaller.(4 pixels behave like 1 big pixel)

If Fallout 3 with Max settings on PC=PS3 as you say, then why it plays on my pc like that without even using mods 2560x1440, 8xAA, 16xAF, better shadows, better lighting, larger view distance, larger fov, and double the fps? can ps3 do 1/10 of all of these? don't think so:lol:

No,that's not how it works. The size of one pixel is huge on your screen.Pixel density is sh!t. And it doesn't have better shadows, fov and lighting on your PC....Its just that you are delusional. This discussion ends now.The screenshots have proven you wrong, and you have posted nothing to counter them.

Pixel density also deepens on the viewing distance, so your suggestion is to go 10m a way from the screen so you can not tell the difference between high rez and low, but getting too away there is simply no viewing experience whatsoever.

Also fact remains if i want to play fallout3 i can like that: 2560x1440, 8xAA, 16xAF, better shadows, better lighting, larger view distance, larger fov, and double the fps without even using mods. even some of the screenshots you post show what i am saying.

People don't sit that far away from their display to try to counteract a lower resolution. They sit that fat away because that's where their couch is. Not seeing a benefit to higher resolutions then follows from that. You're reversing the cause and effect.

In a dedicated home theater, sure. But if I tried to position my couch for SMPTE spec (let alone THX spec), my living room would be unnavigable.

Practical concerns come first. I have to live in my home, not just game in it.

Which is why PC:

-Has had every GTA so far, and far far better version of said GTA.

-Far more gamers than any single console.

-Far more games and exclusives than console.

[QUOTE="call_of_duty_10"] Funny, how you assume that I do not have a gaming PC. Unless you are talking about MODDED version, that's BS.The difference between 360 and pc(maxed) versions for FO3 is negligible.call_of_duty_10

negligible:?

unmodded Fallout 3 2.5x bigger rez, better shadows, better lighting, larger view distance, larger fov, and double the fps

Resolution doesn't improve the graphics ffs.The pixel density does.For a game like FO3,which has low-detail assets,even that doesn't matter.

And the other stuff barely looks better on PC.

1280x-11280x-11280x-11280x-11280x-11280x-1

Dunno why I am posting these, though.

You are just going to say that the PC has better shadows and lighting, even though the evidence above proves otherwise. The view distance won't change the gameplay. The AI is designed for the draw distance that consoles use.FOV is same.

With shots like these its obvious whoever did this comparison was biased against pc. Here is a comparison from a more reliable source. Also remember that the game actually freezes when changing weaps on console but not on pc.

LOL "smaller screen(17.5") = 1080p on 24" screen" what is totally wrong:lol:. let put it this way:

A) person A is sitting 10 metters away form screen(40' 720p)
B) person B is sitting 10 metters away form screen(100' 1080p)
how is going to get better viewing experience? person B

it is a fact that if i want i can play fallout3 without mods and still get 2560x1440, 8xAA, 16xAF, better shadows, better lighting, larger view distance, larger fov, and double the fps without even using mods. For example consoles have shadow resolution 512x512(or something like that), on pc if i want i can turn the shadow resolution all the way up to 4096x4096, guess what that is better shadows... same goes for the rest...)

Nope, viewing experience will be same for both. The difference in pixel density is small.

What do you class as realistic?

Monitor 20 to 24" at 18 to 24" HDTV 27 to 32" at 4 to 6' or 47 to 55" at 9 to 12'

What about the 27 to 30in monitors?

What percentage of the overall install base do they represent?

A fair amount. Considering that Apple sells the 27in iMac.

[QUOTE="call_of_duty_10"]

Again, who the FCK is talking about 720p on a 40" screen? Are you blind?

call_of_duty_10

it is the same thing you muppet

A) person A is sitting 1 meter away form screen(17.5' 720p)
B) person B is sitting 1 meter away form screen(24' 1080p)
how is going to get better viewing experience? person B

you see?

Nope, viewing experience will be same for both. The difference in pixel density is small.

how it is the same for both, when person B get bigger screen and double the image information?

Dunno why I didn't point it out before, but no one sits one metre away from a 17.5 inch screen. The viewing distance depends on the size of the screen. Smaller res, smaller screen, smaller distance. And can you elaborate what you mean by 'image info'?

I mean you can see more detail(because of the bigger rez). Not sure why you are still arguing.
