You can get a 120gig ps3 for 300 bucks

You can get a 120 gig 360 elite for 400 (soon to be 300 I hope)

The killer is the 360 arcade for 200 that's 50 less than the Wii.

The games on the wii are mostly rubbish and the graphics are 480p original xbox style or worse. The audio just hurts my ears and the online is not even worth talking about unless your into the weather. I sold my wii for $500 and that was the best time I had with it. My gaming pc is just so pretty to watch and listen to at times I just hug it and say this is to good to be a game.

The one thing good about the wii is it is almost indestructable from what I have heard anyway.

MS and Sony are not giving out price cuts out of the kindness of their hearts; they are doing so because they are getting destroyed by Nintendo and have no other choice but to lower the cost of their consoles.

To make the consumer believe that it's better than it is. If they price it lower, the consumer won't have the idea that the wii is some magical machine that operates in a totally new and revolutionary way so of course it's 250$. The general consumer probably doesn't even realize that the Wii has last gen graphical capabilities.

Simple, it still sells out everywhere, and they actually make money off every console sold. (Something that MS and Sony don't)

You'd be a fool to issue a price cut. Anyone who was in their shoes would do the same.

Nintendo hasn't had a reason to lower the price, it still sells good, and I think it should actually cost $150.

Do you know what you people don't get? The people buying a wii don't give a damn about the PS3 or 360. They don't care about the BS value, they don't give a damn about the games and they don't see Mircosoft or Sony as worth their time. They buy the Wii because it is the console that appeals to them. The PS3 and 360 are irrelevant as to why the wii will keep selling. Because of this, it doesn't matter what the competition is priced at.

well it comes with a game , for one, ps3 does not and nor does the pro./elite 360s ,

and ya its still 50 cheaper then a ps3 360 at the current price drops and is the same as the 60 gig 360 but thats temporary

so ya wii still the cheapest option besides the arcade

From a business money making standpoint, no reason to drop the price.....from a specification and feature standpoint the Wii should be no more than $149.99. Its 10 year old hardware

Supply and demand and the Wii is just suited for a wider audience and demographic. If the Wii continues to outsell both the 360 and PS3 even with their price drops, it will just show you that more people don't care about HD gaming, Blu Ray, online service, and all that other stuff.

People are ignorant. Sure, the gamer might know, but the casual gamer probably won't, especially if they owned a PS2 last gen.

No we don't. SW has this idea that some how when it suits them the wii is irrelleavnt but when it looks favourable, it exists. Watch, its going to be funny when there is no price cut and we were right.

now when the wii outsells both the PS3 and 360 during the coming months, will the experts of system wars continue to claim that the wii is only selling because of price alone, even though the PS3 is only $50 more and the 360 will be sold for the same price?

or will the experts of system war admit that they did not know what they were talking about?

I would get a $175 Wii mostly for Mario Galaxy1, 2 and New Super Mario.

Anyway, its still at the same price, first because it sells a lot and second because theres no competition for what it offers.

Sony and MS do not dictate what the Wii price is: the market does (as interpreted by Nintendo).

Plus, the Wii offers a different experience in many games the other two consoles don't. And you can enjoy most of the great games on PS3/360 on a PC.

When Nintendo decides they'd make more money cutting the console price, they will. Otherwise, it's really poor business sense.

I am completely aware about the graphics and resolution capabilities of the Wii, I do own a 360, PS3, and a 1080p set. Plus he mentioned the general consumer which I assume those that don't play games as much as we do.

i wouldn't say it's JUST the marketing department at apple/nintendo because the wii and ipod were designed from the ground up for mass appeal

some credit should be given to those who designed these devices with accessibility and user-friendly interfaces in mind

no need to at this time. as i regret buying the wii a year ago. mostly becuase there weren't many games i like.

but untill wii's sales have a constant run of not being the top seller. don't expect a price cut any time in the future.

Especially when the concept is such a simple one. This either goes to show the average age of people that visit System Wars, or how ignorant the average System Warrior is. Mind, the latter could include the former.

A used GC cost about $30 at GAmestop and Wii is just a GC with motion controls. However like many pointed out, untill Wii starts to seeing sales droughts, then it should be lowered

I heard Miyamoto say somwhere "Nintendo will not lower the price of the Wii and DS because the people that have already bought one will feel like they have been cheated." Like the PS3 people will be mad at such a steep price drop as some could have waited a few years to buy a PS3

Uh, of course, that's way too high.

But you can't sell the Wii for less than 250$ or the general public is going to think it's worth less than 250$. But that doesn't mean the general public is going to think that the PS3 is worth 600$ just because its priced at 600$ (even though it was worth more).
