Why is the wii still $250 ??

ugh, the wii just like the ps3/360 is a current generation game systems that has continuing support. what they are made of is not relevant to what the consumers will pay. only the perceived utility of the system to the consumer matters. as the wii is still 50 cheaper then the nearest non-gimped console it is still the cheapest and it comes with a game. the wii is by far the cheapest console to play. this combined with the fact that the wii has the five highest selling exclusives this generation it is not far fetched to assume people purchased the wii because it had games worthy of playing.

I won't waste my $$$ on it.

BIAS? You cant be BIAS when you compare photos. The Conduit is the best looking game on the wii. Technically. You may feel as if other games are more ARTISTICALLY better, but The Conduit has the best graphics on the Wii.

Uncharted 2 has better graphics. Its as simple as that.

I never thought it was worth $250, which is why I have never bought one.

Now with the lower price of the 360 and PS3 it is completely unjustified.

The wii is still at launch price because it's still printing out money for nintendo.

In economics, there is a concept called supply and demand. Learn it.

MS and Sony are not giving out price cuts out of the kindness of their hearts; they are doing so because they are getting destroyed by Nintendo and have no other choice but to lower the cost of their consoles.

yeah, youre right... between my PC, 360, ps3 and Wii i have no games to play.... yup, none at all

and yes, i do benefit from them making money... i like their IP's... when they make money, they stay in business, they make more of the games i enjoy... how is that not apparent?

the wii is still selling well at $250, so nintendo can fairly price it at $250 based on a simple concept called supply and demand. if any wii-bashers don't like this, then get mad at the public for buying the wii or get mad at the economist who created this supply and demand principle if you do actually disagree with it (lol). don't be mad at nintendo for applying it.

nintendo came into this generation with a superior strategy than both MS and sony did - that is why they are able to sell a console with such technically inferior hardware to the public at nearly the same price as a PS3/360.

all of these gameranking scores and in-game screenshots are off-topic damage control used by mad wii-bashers who cannot grasp the fact that there is still a heavy demand for the wii @ a $250 price point.

I like the Wii and don't feel ripped off at all at the $250 price.

It came with a great game. I had a GC and it has 100% BC. I love the WiiWare and VC games. No system plays rail shooters better which I like, and I like all the quirky and unique games. Is it perfect? No.

But I knew what I was getting before I bought it.

As far as sales go, the PS2 wasn't popular because of how many systems have sold, it was popular because of the good, quality games that it has (especially 3rd party games). All Nintendo has are 1st party games, & the majority of their 3rd party titles are like a repeat off of the PSP's lineup with PS2 ports, remakes, downgraded ports of this current gen games like Dead Space, etc. It reminds me of the PSP itself. Nintendo can't rely on just 1st party games forever.

Plus in news, the popularity of the Wii is running on thin ice now. Not only that, but I heard that the PS3 is selling more consoles than ever thanks to that price drop. Plus to be honest, how many of those 53 million Wii owners are still playing their Wii's now? Most of them have regretted their purchase, & have either sold their Wii's off or are just letting their Wii's collect dust. Even the person who works at Gamestop admits that he has a Wii, but that he hadn't touched his in a long while.

Why can't they? Nintendo itself is primarly a game developer and it has second party studios.

Right, and I'm 32, and my first ever console was a second hand Atari 400, after that an Intellivision II.

Don't be so touchy with the age thing, you obviously missed my point. I could careless about Nintendo giving 3rd party devs a hard time. And no one back then even cared if you were young (in the NES days) and a teenager (in the SNES days). If YOU were around that time, YOU would know better that NES and SNES had the support and the games and that's all that mattered, not just Nintendo's 1st party. That was my point.

you can be certain that if the ps2 sold like the GC did, the ps3 wouldnt have anywhere near the amount of features or sold at a loss

In bold print, I've been saying this since Wii supplies suddenly became a surplus at Best Buy and other retailers. But sheep keep spinning and spinning that Wiis are still in demand. As in high demand.
