Why Modern Warfare 2 is the one of the best fps of all time.

Modern Warfare 2 for 360/PS3/PC is great looking, easy to get into, well designed, and most of all fun.

The online is deeper than any other fps to date. Yet still this game gets more hate than any other game in SW. Why is this?

Because it's cool to hate. When everyone else in the world found out about Call of Duty, gamers got mad. Though in reality, the core gameplay was still there. The great production values? Still there. Sure the game was a little unbalanced, but there was so much stuff to unlock you didn't care. Modern Warfare 2 commentaries are dominating youtube right now. The reason is because the game is so popular. Which means people like it. And it turns out, we're people too. So if the majority of the world likes it, the majority of us should reasonably like it too.

The hermits cry "Cod 1 was awesome, from then on it went all downhill", yet every single video game critic disagrees.I would also like to hear any reason why you think the first/second game was better, because I've played them all, and I have to disagree.

In truth, a game can be objectively disliked based on graphics, controls, and features.The game has all of those. So why, SW, do so many of us here love to hate this game?

cuz they sold more than 20 millions of copies....no other FPS games ever sell that much.

I dislike it because I'm not a fan of "arcade" shooters like Modern Warfare.

I don't like it because of the unbalanced weaponry/perks or the fact that the online for the PC is worse than that of Doom.

Nope. Its a fairly average run of the mill shooter. Its very easy to max out your rank and after that it starts to get very boring. Massive aim assist, IWnet is awful and the SP is 4 hours on the hardest difficulty. The three pillars of fail.

Movie like campaigns with enough visuals sway critics, I mean how could you not hate on that 4 hour campaign? Really? It's only 4 hours for crying out loud...any other game would have seriously been bashed for that. Then they overcharge you for new maps, the guns are imba, killstreaks encourage camping, UAV leads to nade spam, matches stop all the time cause host quits or gets lagged etc etc..

Are you serious?This game was in development for 3 years and it comes out horrible.Bad and VERY VERY short campaign and it has the most unbalanced online multilayer in CoD history and dont even get me started with all the glitches

5hours on the highest difficulty setting. I remember when i checked my playtime on campaign and was like wtf.......

I did and I got SPAS-12'd a mile away while I was trying to use an assault rifle on him, having teamwork in a public match is like finding a Jewish Nazi.

MW2 was crap. Well designed? It's a game that goes from a snowmobile chase right into a Russian airport massacre.

It's never cool to hate, the game just isn't all that good.

Well, I don't think its the best FPS of all time...

I think MW2 is a well made FPS and is balanced as it can be given the options / features in the game. The persistence and accessibility of the multi-player is nice. The SP campaign had some fun set-pieces, but ultimately has bad level design, bad AI, and an incomprehensible plot!

It's a game that I believe to be overrated by critics and underrated by many core gamers.

MW2 doesn't hold a candle to Timesplitters 2

My beef with the game is that it's a bit unbalance and extremely chaotic, but it's nowhere near as bad as some folks here make it seems. The game just needs some tweaking.

I am a very hardcore gamer, which stereotypically means I shouldn't really like MW2...stupid myth. Anyways I think MW2 is fantastic, I could play the Sniper Fi level on Veteran solo all day long it's that good, balanced and addictive. Even though I have 1000g complete for that game I still play it even though I have nothing really to play for which shows how damn good the gameplay is.

BFBC2 doesn't look as good, doesn't have as much unlocks, and isn't as fun(for me) to play. I'm sure a lot of people would say the same.
