I'm serious...

Allow me to first say this is in no way a trolling statement....I'm being DEAD serious...

What is the point of owning one? So far all I've seen are games coming to PC or better on PC completely.....C & C 3 much?

Gears? Cuz Alan Wake, Bioshock, GTA IV, Mass Effect, C & C 3, UT 3, Oblivion and pretty much any games worth getting for it are on PC...

At least with the PS3 and Wii the games you buy cannot be had anywhere but on the repsective consoles...plus the PS3 has all the multiplats...and if the newer games are any indicator the EDGE tools have corrected the problems FEAR had...

Plus...

MGS4, Resistance, FF XIII, God of War 3, Rachet, Uncharted, Lair, FF versus XIII Heavenly Sword, Killzone 2, GT5, Haze....and all the other multiplats...whats the point of gettin a 360? I'd rather have these exclusives...the multiplats...and a PC for SC2 and maybe Crysis...plus anything I really want on 360 I can just snag on PC save for Gears...heck I can even get Halo 3..

I am serious...I am interested to hear what Lemmings have to say about this...and I would like some good answers..

I mean..look at Halo 2 vs Halo 3...why get a Halo 3 now when its gonna end up looking like Crysis down the freaking road?

Have fun waiting on Mass Effect for 3 years just like with Jade Empire. I'm also waiting to play Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Infinite Undiscovery, and so on with the JRPG.  Then I also get other games like Too Human, Dead Rising, Crackdown, Ninja Gaiden, and Dead or Alive.

Of course you are being "dead serious" the PS3 dissappointments have driven you over the edge and you have completely lost touch with reality. I buy 360 versions over pc versions because its more convienient and I can trade in console titles to pay for the next great 360 title that comes out.

Many of us are using the time until there are more reasons to pick up a PS3 by playing 360 titles.

This denial I see from you on this site everyday completely destroys any credibility you have here.

Most of the PC games that are on the 360 are not on the PS3 or Wii. For $400 you get a gaming system that can play many excellent PC games, without having to worry about upgrading your PC. For someone like a laptop owner, who might not be keen on getting a desktop PC, this is great.

Also, let's not forget - Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Too Human, Halo 3, Halo Wars, Gears of War, Lost Odyssey, Forza 2, et cetera... all only on the 360. Gears and Halo might wind up on the PC, but if Halo 2 is any indication, it won't be for a long time.

Alan Wake, Bioshock, Shadowrun, Halo 2, Command and Conqueor 3, Unreal Tournament 3, Oblivion, Fear and GTA IV might be on PC - and frankly are reasons for me personally to hold off on getting a 360, but there are still reasons to own one.

In the end, I honestly think you're only arguing for PC gaming because you're a huge Sony fan... and it's okay. No matter what you'll be supporting Microsoft, my gaming company. Want to play Gears, Halo, Alan Wake, Shadowrun, Geometry Wars, Uno, et cetera on your gaming PC? Guess what you're buying? It starts with a V and ends with "omg... I've admitted a Microsoft platform is a superior gaming platform that I enjoy".

But whatever, you do what makes you happy. Me? I'm upgrading my PC and getting a 360 for Gears, Halo 3, Too Human, Blue Dragon, GRAW (pc version is different), PGR3, and Lost Odyssey.

I'll be playing Halo 2, Shadowrun, Bioshock, Oblivion, and Alan Wake on a Vista DX10 machine.

Good point, but the PC gets another BIOWARE rpg that the Xbox360 doesnt "Dragon Age" which is a fair trade off, and the number of MMORPGs/RTS/Adventure/Simulation outways that list.

Personal preference and cost its all about, building my own PC saves me nearly 200 quid ($400), its a handy skill to have, PC Gaming has led to me learning how to make 3D objects/mods/ Websites / Graphical design and so forth, its definatly themost creative medium of Gaming by a long way.

Exactly.  Building an OC'd machine is the way to go.  Hell, I got my 1.8 ghz opteron dual-core OC'd to 2.6 and the chip cost me $150!

As the gap widens between 360 and PS3 in terms of exclusives your going to be hurting more from that point of view...3 years down the road PS3 will have close to 20 plus titles PC WONT have..while MS policy seems to be make it for both and support both our endeavors. It's sad but it's true...the day will come when you see these games all on a PC...the same cannot be said for Sony...they don't push their software on PC's to sell there new OS lol

MS Policy? MS isn't the one making most of the games I want to play... or did Silicon Knights fall under MS ownership while I wasn't looking? This is another case of a Sony fanboy hiding behind the PC out of fear of the Xbox 360. Yet, what you consitently fail to acknowledge here is that if you follow your strategy, you're supporting Microsoft.

Guess what the PC is? Right... Windows. Not the one you already own either, a new one called Windows Vista - an operating system that costs $120+ --- all of which goes into Micrsoft's pocket. Claiming you're going to buy a PC and a PS3 is no different than saying you're going to buy an Xbox 360.

"Bu...bu..but the PS3 exclusives"... right... and so far the proven exclusives are... uh... wait... hold on... God of War, Ratchet & Clank, and that's it. FF XIII and MGS4 exclusivity ARE NOT confirmed. Meanwhile PC has games like Crysis, a playable version of Fear, WoW, Guild Wars, the graphically impressive version of Haze, and Starcraft 2.

"Bu... I'm going to buy a PC" - yeah, a Microsoft platform, it's no different than buying a 360. What you can't get around here is that PC / 360 as a platform actually has an *awesome* library of games - something the PS3 doesn't.

If you were to watch to new videos on Too Human you would know that it is not mediocre. Also I am a fan of JRPG so Lost Odyssey I think looks fantastic. It is just a different preference that I have in gaming to you, I am not impressed by PC exclusive games to tell you the truth because they just don't interest me that much and thus I think they are mediocre. I look at RTS games and just dust them off because that isn't my style of play. To me, all RTS games are mediocre but that is my preference.

Haze will probably run better on PC but it will sell better on PS3.

I get the same online gameplay but I get it for free. Better price? If you have owned 360 since launch as a Gold memeber you have spent as much I have and you will continue to spend more. Better games? I am faaaar more impressed with Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, PAIN, Little Big PLanet, HOME, the Resistance series, God of War series, MGS4, FF XIII games, and the prospect of Killzonne 2 than I am with a slew of games that will show up on a PC 5 times better...

The 360 is an affordable console well a good gaming PC is not and neither is the PS3 yet. When the PS3 becomes more affordable and has a strong list of titles it will be a different story but for now the 360 is king.

Actually, when I got my Xbox 360 I made a list of games I wanted and took time to make the list. It only includes games I definitely wanted. Here is that list;

  • Gears of War
  • Gears of War 2
  • Gears of War 3
  • Mass Effect
  • Mass Effect 2
  • Mass Effect 3
  • Forza Motorsport 2
  • Command and Conquer
  • FEAR
  • FEAR 2
  • Half Life 2
  • Lost Odyssey
  • Ninja Gaiden 2
  • Burnout Paradise
  • Devil May Cry 4
  • Grand Theft Auto IV
  • Resident Evil 5

Yellow = Also on PS3
Blue = Also on PC and PS3

Red = Also on PC or likely to appear on PC

Now here comes a bit of logic you might have trouble understanding. I played Xbox 360 before I got one and the achievements thing just got to me. Strangely enough, it was a big plus for me. Also troubling for you to understand I guess; a controller fits me more then a KBM.

Now a bit more logical logic. A PC that would be able to run those games would cost me more then 399 euro's. A PS3 also costs more then that. Also, most of my friends owned an Xbox 360. Only one of them owns a PS3 and he also owns a high end PC but also an Xbox 360.

Now the most logical logic yet; There are only a few exclusives in that list. However, you notice how only a few of those games are available for PS3? You notice how only a few of those games are available on PC? And do you notice how all of them are available on Xbox 360?

So to break it down, the cheapest way (but money wasn't that big of a problem, but it's always a plus) with the most features I wanted, with all the games I wanted and most of my friends having one, brought me to chose Xbox 360.

I hope it's not that hard for you to understand. From my viewpoint at least.

Fearless, Devil May Cry 4 is also on the PC, change it to Blue.

Thats a pretty small game list mind, good Quadroopal the size of that for games that are coming out within 2007, but ofc its personal preference again.

How about I get a PS3 with all the games I mentioned post above this one and not waste my time on basically a 360 and a super 360. I know I wont be able to get the games coming to PS3 on a PC...but 360 is like the weaksauce PC with far less features...whereas PS3 is simply more than a PC...it's a console with its own set of games and a blu-ray player along with a slew of other things....

And btw I thought you should know...IF you own PS1 or PS2 games the newest patch is AMAZING on the PS3...the AA is simply breath taking even on a SD tv. I played Red Faction and FF VIII last night and was BLOWN away. They looked AMAZING

The 360 is an affordable console well a good gaming PC is not and neither is the PS3 yet. When the PS3 becomes more affordable and has a strong list of titles it will be a different story but for now the 360 is king.wooooode

Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 ($144) + 2 gigs DDR2-667 ($60) + mobo ($60) + windows vista home premium ($120) + geforce 8800gts ($270) = $624 + $20 shipping = $644... it's safe to assume you have a case, power supply, dvd drive, and hard drive if you have an existing PC.

For the same price as the PS3, you get a significantly more powerful gaming PC. Understandably, not everyone can afford that, that's why there's the Xbox 360. Given a choice between a PS3 and a Gaming PC thought? What choice? DX10 Gaming PC is a superior platform here, even the TC is saying as much.

Actually, when I got my Xbox 360 I made a list of games I wanted and took time to make the list. It only includes games I definitely wanted. Here is that list;

  • Gears of War
  • Gears of War 2
  • Gears of War 3
  • Mass Effect
  • Mass Effect 2
  • Mass Effect 3
  • Forza Motorsport 2
  • Command and Conquer
  • FEAR
  • FEAR 2
  • Half Life 2
  • Lost Odyssey
  • Burnout Paradise
  • Devil May Cry 4
  • Grand Theft Auto IV
  • Resident Evil 5

Yellow = Also on PS3

Meu2k7

Thanks for noticing. My post needs some editing.  However, there are more games I want now and a good deal of them are Xbox 360 exclusives. But that was the list I made before I got my Xbox 360. Which was a while ago. It made me make my decision. My list at this moment would be five times as large with more exclusives. I was just explaining what made me pick up the 360. Because you can't use a reason for buying a console that you only knew about after you bought it right? I mean, that's just cheating :P

Take it from a guy who's played 4000 Halo 2 multiplayer games on XBL:

Halo 2 does NOT look that good.

Your argument could be valid for wii games, but the ps3 has absolutely nothing in its library at this time.  Of all the next gen consoles, that is the one that is not needed at this time.

[QUOTE="spinecaton"]Have fun waiting on Mass Effect for 3 years just like with Jade Empire. I'm also waiting to play Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Infinite Undiscovery, and so on with the JRPG.  Then I also get other games like Too Human, Dead Rising, Crackdown, Ninja Gaiden, and Dead or Alive.NextGenNow

Seriously though...except Dead Rising all those games are mediocre....

Well Ninja Gaiden MAYBE..but just get a PS3..they have newest version anyways...

Plus by upgrading you can play Starcraft 2!! and a slew of other great games!!

Why spend all that extra money on a PC, or the PS3? Just for the shear **** of it?

Both Mass Effect and Gears of War are exclusive titles. Oh, and Forza Motorsport, an exclusive, just got AAA. Where is the PS3 AAA?

TC i sorta agree with you. if i would of known that Gears of war was coming out for the pc, i would not have bought the 360. but besides that games ill be getting on Pc are

Bioshock, Alan Wake, Half Life Epi 2, Dirt

as for 360. Mass effect unless it goes to pc also then ill get the pc version

Lost Odessey looks like a really boring game from the game footage i have seen. so that game ill end up passing.

Eternal Sonata is a game ill be getting.

Blue dragon i was going to get but played the JP version didnt turn out what i thought it would be like . was very boring

Forza 2 i might get but not sure yet.  I didnt care for the demo to much. the graphics i was not impressed, but the game play was there at least.

Actually, when you think about it, buying a Console and a PC (not for gaming use, decent Vista MEdia one, good CPU) is more expensive than just getting a Gaming PC, it does both and the only real difference is adding abit more RAM (which is cheap) and the Graphic card (The expensive part, still costing less than a console) .... not to mention the games are cheaper.

Halo 3 UK = 45 quid ($90)

Crysis UK = 25 Quid ($50).....

[QUOTE="subrosian"][QUOTE="NextGenNow"][QUOTE="subrosian"]Most of the PC games that are on the 360 are not on the PS3 or Wii.

So it finally comes out - you can't hide behind the PC any more, so you're forced to make the claim that the PS3 > PC. Let's go through this one step at a time.

Graphics. The PC blows the PS3 out of the water. A $600 gaming PC, as I've demonstrated, can have a GeForce 8800gts 320mb. Holy crap. This absolutely graphically *annilates* the PS3. This is the card that creates the graphics you're seeing in all the Crysis screenshots.

Performance. This Gaming PC has eight times the system RAM as the PS3 - it's going to run smooth as butter in every game, no stuttering, no slowdowns, no weird load times - nothing. From the moment the game starts to the moment you stop playing, it's a seamless experience.

Games. Comparing the PC library to the PS3 library is suicide. You've got a huge library of AAA games on the PC - or you can play inferior ports of PC games like Oblivion on the PS3, with no mod community, no graphics updates, no gameplay overhauls... how boring.

Online. Unfinished PSN - or huge established gaming communities surround every major game. People are still playing Tribes for goodness sake! How many people were online last time you logged into SOCOM? Clans, tournaments, and LAN gaming only take things further.

Cost. Games on the PC are $50... yet the same game on the PS3 is $60. At $10 a game difference, every sixth games is essentially a freebie.

Upscaled PS1 and PS2 don't come close to doing what Oblivion with graphics mods at 1680x1050 looks like... you're comparing several year old consumer consoles that retailed for $300 at launch to a $270 graphics card supported by 2 gigs of RAM and a dual-core processor, not a good idea.

But whatever, other than lying about your support for the PC, what else do you have to offer? Games I can play on my PS1 and PS2? It's not enough, and the Gaming PC simply obliterates it, with better games both now and tommorow.

[QUOTE="paullywog"]360 beats ps3 with better games, better graphics, better online, better price.NextGenNow

Better online play, you really have no clue what you are talking about.  By looking at the statement "I get the same online gameplay", I think I just threw up in my mouth.  First off when you get a ps3 game there is no gaurentee that there is going to be online gameplay.  Why do you ask?  Well because it is just that, free and devs don't want to have to pay for servers to support such an online community.

And btw I thought you should know...IF you own PS1 or PS2 games the newest patch is AMAZING on the PS3...the AA is simply breath taking even on a SD tv. I played Red Faction and FF VIII last night and was BLOWN away. They looked AMAZING

Your more than a little misunderstood about the PS3. Here is a thread that might enlighten you a little bit.

Fearless, Devil May Cry 4 is also on the PC, change it to Blue.

Thats a pretty small game list mind, good Quadroopal the size of that for games that are coming out within 2007, but ofc its personal preference again.

That right there is the main thing, it all depends on what you want. If you have a top of the line pc, and all you want on 360 are games like Oblivion, Command and Conquer, Alan Wake, or Bioshock, games that will be better(i.e the first two) or just as good as the 360 version, than theres no need to have one. But if you want to play Banjo Threeie, Ninja Gaiden 2, Blue Dragon, Mass Effect, etc. than your purchase its well justified.

Btw, you mentioned Dragon Age, Bioware is making two projects for the 360, so it could be Dragon Age, or it could be something completely different, say Jade Empire 2, so Dragon Age could find its way to 360's but who knows.

For starters my pc piece of horse turd,Why would i want to waste so much money on pc gaming? then i will give you answers. I like the fact that i can just load up a game without having to upgrade my cards and what not.

Immortal_Evil

why would you want to waste money on paying $20-$30 more per game?  I haven't upgraded my pc in over a year and I can still run high to max settings in new games.

Whoa whoa whoa...

Subrosian...I don't think PS3 is better than PC...I prefer it over PC but I think it's a wicked deadly combo.

It's kinda like this...

Owning a 360 and a PC is kinda like owning an iPod and iPod nano...

Owning a PS3 and owning a PC is kinda like owning an iPod and owning a really nice "chocolate" cell phone.

There is no point in having a PC and 360 when the majority of 360 games are essentially going to end up on PC better....with PS3 your playing games PC doesnt have. AND your playing games PC has better or that PS3 doesnt have.

[QUOTE="paullywog"]360 beats ps3 with better games, better graphics, better online, better price.xscrapzx

I have a friends list...my OS doesnt lagg...I can set up voice chat rooms with cameras and we can chat and talk and SEE each other in realtime without having to play uno....and I could go on cuz there are hundreds of neat things.. :D

Actually, when I got my Xbox 360 I made a list of games I wanted and took time to make the list. It only includes games I definitely wanted. Here is that list;

  • Gears of War -Resistance: Fall of Man
  • Gears of War 2 - Resistance 2
  • Gears of War 3 - Resistance 3
  • Mass Effect - Uncharted
  • Mass Effect 2 - MGS4
  • Mass Effect 3 - FF XIII
  • Forza Motorsport 2 - GT 5
  • Command and Conquer - pfffft lol!! SC2 buddy >>>> C&C
  • FEAR
  • FEAR 2
  • Half Life 2
  • Lost Odyssey - FF Versus XIII
  • Ninja Gaiden 2 - Heavenly Sword/God of War 3
  • Burnout Paradise
  • Devil May Cry 4
  • Grand Theft Auto IV
  • Resident Evil 5

Yellow = Also on PS3

Fixed

Thank you for fixing my personal preference. I really appreciate it. Hey, listen, I'm into girls with black hair and cool personalities, but I should probably try to hook up with a blonde girl who's a **** all the time right?

No offense, but just read my post better next time. I was describing my personal preference at that time. You can't change that kid.
