Im practical, I choice the system with the most games, lastability , personality , mods , online community , my work , media centre , dedicated servers , work , work , Hobbies - Graphic Design/3D Modelling/Websites.

I got every bang for my buck, but carry on beleive your BudgetPC360 is gods gift to gaming my freind, when your 4-5 or so games are out and your sat there doing nothing beacuse they lack anythign more than 15 hours play with the exception of Halo 3 ;)

Gear of War is crap compared to FEAR for the PCMetalContra

Gears is still the prettiest game I've ever seen on a console. I was upset that it was so short and the story was sort of...thrown together...but it was a great game. Not fare to call it crap or to compare it to a PC game.  

why do poeple keep rattling the same stuff over and over.i bought my xbox last gen to play half life 2,doom 3 ,farcry etc etc etc. which i would never be able to play on my ancient pc.sure they wernt as good as the pc version but only by comparison.they were excellent ports btw.my xbox was my main console as it had better multiplats, imo excellent pc only games and i liked its controller.it was the best alternative to a good pc(it didnt have all pc games ,but the big games were there).many people might have bought it for the same reason.i bought my cube and ps2 only for their games.nothing else.same goes this gen.tc do you have a gaming pc?yes? good. play those games on it. if not then your OP fails.happy now???

That's what System Wars is all about, right? If you can't handle the debate, then, clearly, you aren't ready for SW.

Like Stonin said, the most expensive system clearly hasn't shown to be superior either. And I should know, I own a PS3.

why do poeple keep rattling the same stuff over and over.i bought my xbox last gen to play half life 2,doom 3 ,farcry etc etc etc. which i would never be able to play on my ancient pc.my xbox was my main console as it hadd better multiplats, excellent pc only games and i liked its controller.it was the best alternative to a good pc(it didnt have all pc games ,but the big games were there).many people might have bought it for the same reason.i bought my cube and ps2 only for their games.nothing else.same goes this gen.tc do you have a gaming pc?yes? good. play those games on it. if not then your OP fails.happy now???

Why are you hanging on to your PS3? Just a question. Is it because of blu-ray or because you don't want to take a loss by selling it used? I agree with you that it has not shown itself to be the most powerful system as of yet and it certainly is the most expensive so again, why keep it?

If it wasn't for the blu-ray player (and a huge tax return), then I would've never bought a PS3. In the past month, my PS3 has been nothing but a BR player. Oh and I tried the NGS demo for about 30min. No games in a month.

Maybe I'll play some RFoM this weekend though.

Simply because it's cheaper to buy a XBOX360 that will last over a generation of about three years, than to buy a high end gaming PC that will stay sharp for about three months, the answer to your question is pretty darn obvious Mr. Dead Serious.85070537783

You don't HAVE TO get HDMI cables. You HAVE TO get batteries or rechargeables for 360. It's not a neccessary purchase. I see what you mean about being able to get them cheaper on auction sites but let's be fair. One is a mandatory purchase and the other really isn't. From what I read in the forums and from the people I know, a lot of people are playing PS3 on Standard TVs.  

Let's see, Halo 3, Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, Viva Pinata, Dead Rising, Lost Planet, Forza 2, GRAW, GRAW 2, various multiplats that run and look better than their counterparts on your precious PS3, I don't like waiting 4 years to play some games that will be released ont he PC eventually, my PC can't run games that the 360 can, XBox Live, etc. etc.

Ok granted, your first build yes, but changing the mobo/Gcard/ in the future (Only 2 that really need changing unless some massive CPU/RAM breakthough occurs) costs less than the following generation console.

Besides, the feature difference is so big, im pretty sure the price is justified. :P

All i've played lately is RFOM. I liked the NG demo too but I don't think I'll spend that much on a game that's being released for the third time no matter how many little things they improved.  

NextGenNow you would buy a garbage bag filled with human waste (Labeled PLAYSTATION) if Sony told you to. If the PS3 didn't even have 1 game AVAILABLE at launch I bet you would buy it. You would even go so far as to defend that purchase with statements like, "But its got Blue Ray and look at these AWESOME SUPER SWEET screen shots of games coming out someday!"

I could have gone either way, continue to upgrade my PC/buy new one or just stick to a console that gives me PC style games and at the same time console style games (I love my FPS) which is the Xbox 360.

TC your missing the bigger picture MS has in store, with this Windows LIVE rollout (although I understand why lots of PC fans are not liking the idea of paying for something that was already free).  Somehow I get the feeling it will be a success (MS=$ to developers). 

Now XboxLIVE we can all agree is a success (hence why Sony is finnaly bringing their version out) but Xbox 360 has or will have the ability in the future to not only tap the 6million LIVE users for Xbox, but add a few million more from the PC side.(INCLUDING YOU MY FRIEND).

You in the end will be trading blows with Xbox 360 players on a service you paid for (LIVE) and having a great time all the while your PS3 sits collecting dust(after your done/bored with the limited supply of fresh players in your Sony network).  Ok maybe thats a bit extream, but you get the picture.

You see, the more people to frag for me, the merrier.  You'll be lying to yourself if you didnt believe that.

So I say yea, bring on the games, bring them out to Xbox and the PC together it doesnt hurt my pocket book to see a PC player taking a headshot from my sniper rifle while I sit back in my couch in sorround sound.

This is so funny. The price debate has really reached rechargable batteries now. WOW.

Now that I agree with, complaining about 2 year wait for HAlo 3 (Assuming it will be that long) for the PC is bad thing for Xbox HAlo 3 players aswell, you do realize that it will revitlize the ammount of players playing over such a long time? it is on no way a bad thing for anybody.

 I just hope they cater games in favour of the PC abit more now and then , like better optmizing and control support.

Well, if you want HD resolutions (like I do), then you're going to HAVE TO buy something. The PS3 only comes with composite cable.

from m whole post you argued with last line? that my opinion .ive never played a game that requires toomuch dpad usage.i was refering to how good it is for fps on a console and does the job well imo.iwasnt even discussing price!

         Me = a 360 owner with a lap-top and could care less about PC only gaming - I could easily do both but the choice is very clear - I like to game now and not save it for later !

         Get a clue and than we may talk ;) 

         PS - I've been playing those PC games for ever and they just do not in any way threaten the 360 game expirience at all b/c I just like good gaming and you only like you're system of you're choice - Fan Boy ! ;)

My Xbox 360 is at the repair station as we speak. It's getting fixed for free and I will have it back within 9 days. Warranty? No. No warranty needed. Where I live the law is created pretty accurately. No company is allowed to make a product and sell it when they know it can break down due to bad or not good enough producing. Unless they offer a free way to fix it. So, yeah. I guess for you guys in the US and whatever other countries, you're out of luck if you're 360 dies and you don't have warranty. But in the Netherlands were protected from that. So I don't really care about it. Well, that's not true, now I'm lying. I do care. I just bought FEAR for my 360 and Forza 2 is coming out and there are some new demo's on the marketplace. So, sure I wish it didn't have the problem but you can't have everything. And in all honesty, free repair and back within 9 days is a solid solution.

from m whole post you argued with last line? that my opinion .ive never played a game that requires toomuch dpad usage.i was refering to how good it is for fps on a console and does the job well imo.iwasnt even discussing price!

Its a sensitive topic for them. Its kind of built into their nature to defend the price right now....again the fact that batteries are now actually being factored into this debate is beyond insane. Regarding controllers though: I love the placement of the analogs on the 360...my personal favorite since the SNES. 

point is, MS wont release halo 3 for PC the same time they release it for 360 because, DUH, no one would buy 360 then. Nothing too obvious there. If you have a half decent PC, there really is no reason to buy a 360, because most of the games are just PC ports. Why? is the 360 really just a PC in a box? NO WAY!dxmcat

I disagree. There are allot of titles on Xbox 360 that the PC won't get. PS3 might get some of them and some of them are exclusives. And you're totally wrong about the ports part. The only ports that come to mind from PC to Xbox 360 are FEAR, HL2 and CnC3. And honestly, FEAR is a great port. I have no doubt HL2 will be as well. CnC3 was kind of sloppy, but it remains a great game.

There are however allot of games ported from 360 to PC. We can have this discussion all day. In the end, I think you can agree with me that someone who wants an Xbox 360 probably has a good reason to get it from his viewpoint correct? Let it be the games, Live, achievements, whatever the reason is; if that person enjoys himself with it more then any other console or PC why could you possibly state he is wrong?

The $30 you add for batteries is same you could add for an HDMI cable for the PS3. yup, you can get cheaper HDMI cable just like you can get cheaper batteries.

You don't HAVE TO get HDMI cables. You HAVE TO get batteries or rechargeables for 360. It's not a neccessary purchase. I see what you mean about being able to get them cheaper on auction sites but let's be fair. One is a mandatory purchase and the other really isn't. From what I read in the forums and from the people I know, a lot of people are playing PS3 on Standard TVs.
