Be like me.

Own a 360 to play games that you want to play.

Own a PC to browse forums and laugh at stupid fanboys who make pathetic topics.

It's an infinitely entertaining combo.

Ps. If it's multiplat - it's likely to be on both 360 and PS3. So by your logic, 360 has access to a library of both 360 and PC games as well as multiplats while PS3 simply has a library of PS3 titles and multiplats. Nice one.

Most of the PC games that are on the 360 are not on the PS3 or Wii. For $400 you get a gaming system that can play many excellent PC games, without having to worry about upgrading your PC. For someone like a laptop owner, who might not be keen on getting a desktop PC, this is great.

Also, let's not forget - Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Too Human, Halo 3, Halo Wars, Gears of War, Lost Odyssey, Forza 2, et cetera... all only on the 360. Gears and Halo might wind up on the PC, but if Halo 2 is any indication, it won't be for a long time.

Alan Wake, Bioshock, Shadowrun, Halo 2, Command and Conqueor 3, Unreal Tournament 3, Oblivion, Fear and GTA IV might be on PC - and frankly are reasons for me personally to hold off on getting a 360, but there are still reasons to own one.

In the end, I honestly think you're only arguing for PC gaming because you're a huge Sony fan... and it's okay. No matter what you'll be supporting Microsoft, my gaming company. Want to play Gears, Halo, Alan Wake, Shadowrun, Geometry Wars, Uno, et cetera on your gaming PC? Guess what you're buying? It starts with a V and ends with "omg... I've admitted a Microsoft platform is a superior gaming platform that I enjoy".

But whatever, you do what makes you happy. Me? I'm upgrading my PC and getting a 360 for Gears, Halo 3, Too Human, Blue Dragon, GRAW (pc version is different), PGR3, and Lost Odyssey.

I'll be playing Halo 2, Shadowrun, Bioshock, Oblivion, and Alan Wake on a Vista DX10 machine.
subrosian

what you have forgotten is pc prices come down very fast.  for the price of a 360 you can now get a good dual core cpu amd 3800x2, 1gb ram, 7600gt or for another $40 or so a 7900 or 8600gts dx10.

Actually, when you think about it, buying a Console and a PC (not for gaming use, decent Vista MEdia one, good CPU) is more expensive than just getting a Gaming PC, it does both and the only real difference is adding abit more RAM (which is cheap) and the Graphic card (The expensive part, still costing less than a console) .... not to mention the games are cheaper.

Halo 3 UK = 45 quid ($90)

Crysis UK = 25 Quid ($50).....

Meu2k7

Well, GPU's aren't required for non-gaming machines (good GPU's I mean) and they cost allot of money too. But yeah, basically you are right. It's just that my PC is so horribly outdated that I would have to get a totally new rig if I were to play things like Gears of War on PC. That would cost me around 900 euro's at least. But for people with not so outdated machines; you are right. It wouldn't cost them that much to upgrade it to a gaming rig.

Actually, when I got my Xbox 360 I made a list of games I wanted and took time to make the list. It only includes games I definitely wanted. Here is that list;

  • Gears of War -Resistance: Fall of Man
  • Gears of War 2 - Resistance 2
  • Gears of War 3 - Resistance 3
  • Mass Effect - Uncharted
  • Mass Effect 2 - MGS4
  • Mass Effect 3 - FF XIII
  • Forza Motorsport 2 - GT 5
  • Command and Conquer - pfffft lol!! SC2 buddy >>>> C&C
  • FEAR
  • FEAR 2
  • Half Life 2
  • Lost Odyssey - FF Versus XIII
  • Ninja Gaiden 2 - Heavenly Sword/God of War 3
  • Burnout Paradise
  • Devil May Cry 4
  • Grand Theft Auto IV
  • Resident Evil 5

Yellow = Also on PS3
Blue = Also on PC and PS3

Red = Also on PC or likely to appear on PC

Now here comes a bit of logic you might have trouble understanding. I played Xbox 360 before I got one and the achievements thing just got to me. Strangely enough, it was a big plus for me. Also troubling for you to understand I guess; a controller fits me more then a KBM.

Now a bit more logical logic. A PC that would be able to run those games would cost me more then 399 euro's. A PS3 also costs more then that. Also, most of my friends owned an Xbox 360. Only one of them owns a PS3 and he also owns a high end PC but also an Xbox 360.

Now the most logical logic yet; There are only a few exclusives in that list. However, you notice how only a few of those games are available for PS3? You notice how only a few of those games are available on PC? And do you notice how all of them are available on Xbox 360?

So to break it down, the cheapest way (but money wasn't that big of a problem, but it's always a plus) with the most features I wanted, with all the games I wanted and most of my friends having one, brought me to chose Xbox 360.

I hope it's not that hard for you to understand. From my viewpoint at least.

Fixed

Thank you for fixing my personal preference. I really appreciate it. Hey, listen, I'm into girls with black hair and cool personalities, but I should probably try to hook up with a blonde girl who's a **** all the time right?

No offense, but just read my post better next time. I was describing my personal preference at that time. You can't change that kid.

Why bother wasting time answering the TC, judging from his replies to this thread he's a dogmatic sony zealot and no arguement no matter how much truth or facts it contains is gonna change his small closed mind.

Go ahead and buy a ps3, i hope ur happy with ur purchase. The door out of the 360 board is that way>>>>>>>>>>>

every body knows the PC version will be much much worse. Just ask gamespot.jack_russel

do you even read the reviews?  there hasn't been any pc and 360 game the review says the 360 version is better, they just give the 360 a better score since the have the lame excuse, "needs highend pc"  and that's a 6600gt they are calling "highend"

[QUOTE="spinecaton"]Have fun waiting on Mass Effect for 3 years just like with Jade Empire. I'm also waiting to play Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Infinite Undiscovery, and so on with the JRPG. Then I also get other games like Too Human, Dead Rising, Crackdown, Ninja Gaiden, and Dead or Alive.spinecaton

Mass Effect looks good and I've heard good things about Blue Dragon, but the rest mediocre. Except Crackdown, that is Mediocre.

If you were to watch to new videos on Too Human you would know that it is not mediocre. Also I am a fan of JRPG so Lost Odyssey I think looks fantastic. It is just a different preference that I have in gaming to you, I am not impressed by PC exclusive games to tell you the truth because they just don't interest me that much and thus I think they are mediocre. I look at RTS games and just dust them off because that isn't my style of play. To me, all RTS games are mediocre but that is my preference.

Yer your right Too Human is above mediocre. Still not might type of game but I can see what people would like in it. I still stand with my opinion about Crackdown and Dead Rising. I just find my list of games I want for the PC far outweigh the list of all the games I want for my 360.

I will own you at once , For 2000 dollars i can get a xbox 360 and all thoose great games together ( gta4, Geow , halo3 , Mass effect ) and many more.

But if I want to play , lets say Geow on my PC in about 2 years , Only my PC would cost 2000 dollars.

So even you should figure out , Do i want a xbox360 with 20 GOOD games and I can play them the day  when they are realeased, or do I want a PC with no games at the same price of an xbox360 with 20 games and not only that , i would even have to wait 2-3 years to be able to play them ,,, Man everyday this SW suprises me , I swear alot of people here dont even think before they post.

Obviously lems will argue costs, and prefernce and they have thge right to it´s logical. But the tc does have a point, the fact that most ps3 games can´t be played anywhere else makes them better in a way, more valued.

As the gap widens between 360 and PS3 in terms of exclusives your going to be hurting more from that point of view...3 years down the road PS3 will have close to 20 plus titles PC WONT have..while MS policy seems to be make it for both and support both our endeavors. It's sad but it's true...the day will come when you see these games all on a PC...the same cannot be said for Sony...they don't push their software on PC's to sell there new OS lol

MS Policy? MS isn't the one making most of the games I want to play... or did Silicon Knights fall under MS ownership while I wasn't looking? This is another case of a Sony fanboy hiding behind the PC out of fear of the Xbox 360. Yet, what you consitently fail to acknowledge here is that if you follow your strategy, you're supporting Microsoft.

Guess what the PC is? Right... Windows. Not the one you already own either, a new one called Windows Vista - an operating system that costs $120+ --- all of which goes into Micrsoft's pocket. Claiming you're going to buy a PC and a PS3 is no different than saying you're going to buy an Xbox 360.

"Bu...bu..but the PS3 exclusives"... right... and so far the proven exclusives are... uh... wait... hold on... God of War, Ratchet & Clank, and that's it. FF XIII and MGS4 exclusivity ARE NOT confirmed. Meanwhile PC has games like Crysis, a playable version of Fear, WoW, Guild Wars, the graphically impressive version of Haze, and Starcraft 2.

"Bu... I'm going to buy a PC" - yeah, a Microsoft platform, it's no different than buying a 360. What you can't get around here is that PC / 360 as a platform actually has an *awesome* library of games - something the PS3 doesn't.

explain how vista can cost more in america than here in nz?  I can get vista for $137, and its not like ea, ubi and all major 3rd party devs are going to require vista any time soon. even crysis runs on xp, its only two m$ games that need vista and just you waint for the hackers to come out, doom 3 was hacked to work on win 98 why would it be any different this time round?

I'm serious...

Allow me to first say this is in no way a trolling statement....I'm being DEAD serious...

What is the point of owning one? So far all I've seen are games coming to PC or better on PC completely.....C & C 3 much?

Gears? Cuz Alan Wake, Bioshock, GTA IV, Mass Effect, C & C 3, UT 3, Oblivion and pretty much any games worth getting for it are on PC...

At least with the PS3 and Wii the games you buy cannot be had anywhere but on the repsective consoles...plus the PS3 has all the multiplats...and if the newer games are any indicator the EDGE tools have corrected the problems FEAR had...

Plus...

MGS4, Resistance, FF XIII, God of War 3, Rachet, Uncharted, Lair, FF versus XIII Heavenly Sword, Killzone 2, GT5, Haze....and all the other multiplats...whats the point of gettin a 360? I'd rather have these exclusives...the multiplats...and a PC for SC2 and maybe Crysis...plus anything I really want on 360 I can just snag on PC save for Gears...heck I can even get Halo 3..

I am serious...I am interested to hear what Lemmings have to say about this...and I would like some good answers..

I mean..look at Halo 2 vs Halo 3...why get a Halo 3 now when its gonna end up looking like Crysis down the freaking road?

NextGenNow

I am pretty new here, but....  Is this guy serious?  I mean, come on... noone can be this.... well....  Not sure I can say it... but.... Really?

Is this guy the norm, or are there only a few of these.... whatever they are.

so true, trying to run adobe apps on a buget pc is not worth it, I got my extra gig of ram for that not, gaming, and the next ram upgrade will be for that as well, open lots of images in photoshop or do complex stuff in photoshop and 1gig of ram goes in no  time

Not for me. My PC is horribly outdated and I would have to change everything inside the case. Power Supply, motherboard etc. to be able to use that GPU and CPU. And where I live PC parts cost more then in the US.

But money wasn't that big of an issue for me back then. I made my decision mostly because of the games.

Why spend all that extra money on a PC, or the PS3? Just for the shear **** of it?

expalin to me how to do non gaming things on x360, such as design work which already need more than a basic pc?

Hermit on a warpath!!!! ahhhh!!111!!1!1 :o

Thats a slightely flawed statment. Mostly true but overexagerated. You can build a PC capabale of playing a GeOW port for about £700-800($1480). And theres some that will build a system with about £500-600($990) and overclock to get almost 40% extra performance in some circumstances. Ofcourse there are some like me that have spent £2500+($4940) on my PC, not including my dual monitors, headphones, speaker system, keyboard, mouse and so on. But ofcourse I bought a 360 before I took my PC into the realms of overkill because theres no point spending more than you have to on a PC if you haven't got anything to taste the console goodness from time to time with.

Because I prefer X360 to be my main gaming platform. "Why buy a PS3?" Because It does'nt interest me. "Why buy a gaming rig?" Because I prefer PC gaming. "Why buy a Wii & not PS3, X360 or PC?" Because I prefer Nintendo Wii.

Be like me.

Own a 360 to play games that you want to play.

Own a PC to browse forums and laugh at stupid fanboys who make pathetic topics.

It's an infinitely entertaining combo.

[QUOTE="spinecaton"]Have fun waiting on Mass Effect for 3 years just like with Jade Empire. I'm also waiting to play Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Infinite Undiscovery, and so on with the JRPG. Then I also get other games like Too Human, Dead Rising, Crackdown, Ninja Gaiden, and Dead or Alive.NextGenNow

Seriously though...except Dead Rising all those games are mediocre....

Well Ninja Gaiden MAYBE..but just get a PS3..they have newest version anyways...

Heh, just try and enjoy the PS3 and stop worrying about the fact that PC and XBOX 360 gamers are getting to enjoy all of the things Playstation owners can only dream about.

As an owner of both a (very) high end gaming rig and an X360 I can tell you that both are great for different things.  My XBOX plays things like PGR3, Forza 2, Dead Rising, Crackdown, Pro Evo 6, Gears and Guitar Hero II which are just designed for consoles and my PC plays Company of Heroes, Prey (yeah yeah, looks awesome though), S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Total War II, CIV 4 and C&C3 ... all the games that are better on PC.

You see for me i've owned and played Gears to death and I won't be playing it on PC because i'll have moved on to better things.  You on the other hand will probably still be here telling people about the 'ownage' Sony is dishing out with its lack of anything worth playing.

For games like Haze...well i'll decide what I want most.  Play it on PC for the graphics or console for the 'take it to a mates house' aspect of it.  Plus XBLA is great, matchmaking is great, integrated voice and video is great etc.  These are things that are a pain on PC and you are in denial if you think otherwise.

I have to say, it isn't a waste :D.

If you have the money, own both.  If you don't then ok, but don't try to make out its a waste of money when a) value is subjective and b) my PC kicks seven shades of stuff out of any console in terms of graphics and variety of titles.

[QUOTE="paullywog"]360 beats ps3 with better games, better graphics, better online, better price.NextGenNow

I get the same online gameplay but I get it for free. Better price? If you have owned 360 since launch as a Gold memeber you have spent as much I have and you will continue to spend more. Better games? I am faaaar more impressed with Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, PAIN, Little Big PLanet, HOME, the Resistance series, God of War series, MGS4, FF XIII games, and the prospect of Killzonne 2 than I am with a slew of games that will show up on a PC 5 times better...

Better online play, you really have no clue what you are talking about.  By looking at the statement "I get the same online gameplay", I think I just threw up in my mouth.  First off when you get a ps3 game there is no gaurentee that there is going to be online gameplay.  Why do you ask?  Well because it is just that, free and devs don't want to have to pay for servers to support such an online community.

I have a friends list...my OS doesnt lagg...I can set up voice chat rooms with cameras and we can chat and talk and SEE each other in realtime without having to play uno....and I could go on cuz there are hundreds of neat things.. :D

Ya whats your point you still don't get gaurentee online gameplay on every game.  I mean that is why I  pay my $50 for and everything, and XBLA.  I can do all that stuff to, and hey when you start actually playing games against other people you do tend to get some kind of lag I dont care if you are playing on the pc, 360, ps3 you are always going to have some kind of lag in an online game.

Yeah including you, PC Already has more games than that of good quality, PC's not not cost 2000 that run games, and we have the highest life-span of games , mods , graphics , personality , Scale.

2-3 years? When theres tons of game you will never be able to touch on the console without it being a massive downgrade or what not, the only games that released 2-3 years later were Jade Empires (Who cares) and Halo 2 (Again floptastic attempt to promote vista LIVE gaming).

The rest are usually way under a year, example Grand Theft Autos.

Id say about $1100 for gears, dont ferget while UK Pound value is 2x that of the US Dollar, retail prices do not reflect this, foe example

Duo Core E6600 curently 165 Quid ( 310 USD ) , but US Retail of the E6600 is $226.

BillHarrison7

I am pretty new here, but....  Is this guy serious?  I mean, come on... noone can be this.... well....  Not sure I can say it... but.... Really?

Is this guy the norm, or are there only a few of these.... whatever they are.

well..depends there is a lot of pc,Ps3 and xbox fanboys in this forums..so yeah its kinda norm!!

WELCOME TO SYSTEM WARS!!

yo, i dont agree with what ur saying but il be getting a ps3.

360 aint like a pc....why? no keyboard and mouse :)

why ps3 is better...home, free online, a load of exclusives i want(warhawk = omg!) and blueray(also may be more keyboard and mouse friendly)

the price? hell...its expensive if ur under 16. and u get a blueray player!!!

the 360 means wires, £40 every month and 2 games that we KNOW are great (and possibly a dead box with red Christmas lights)

that why i will get a ps3....

LOL at hardcore cows hiding behind the PC by trying to use it to claim ownage on the 360 cuz the PS3 got nothing.

So far the PS3 is getting year old ports of 360 games and guess what those ports are worse than the 360 games which came out ages ago.

So far the 360 has got the games. Yes the PC beats anything graphically on the market but I hate Keyboard/Mouse controls and dont use my PC for gaming the same way I dont use my PC to watch DVDS when I can watch them on a 32 inch HDTV and as well play my 360 on it.

See the PS3 is also losing exclusives to the 360 and some of its multiplat games are on PC as well. Most of its first party exclusive games have not been announced yet.

I dont know about $1100, but I dont know where you guys get your pc prices from, but they are definately not right at all.  For a gaming card that is similar or better than whats in the 360 or Ps3 is going to run you back $200-$300.  Now If I didnt have a free video card when I built my pc last year that would of been about $1500 dollars for what I spent on it.  So lets figure it out $1500 or $400.

Hey you know that is a great idea what you have going and I'm a pc nerd, its my career thats what I do is work on computers.  But when it come to an average consumer you have to look at whats resonable.  What I mean by that is that not everyone knows how to hook a pc to a 42" lcd, not everyone knows how to even install the damn game in the computer.  So lets look at this way.  I dont care what you say or where you look, you are spending over a $1000 for a good game pc, and this is from building my own pc from one of the cheapest online store newegg.  Now for a consumer who does not want to spend outrageous money to play games, which a grand or over is pretty expensive for an average consumer.  A pc is not a good choice, and lets not forget most pc gamers are pretty hardcore gamers, and are computer savy.  So this is why a console is a good choice, when you break down to consoles,  the 360 is cheaper and it has bigger library at this time.  The PS3 on the other hand is expensive and does not have a lot of games for itself.

the fact that ur saying why have a 360 cause its like a PC is a compliment, dont u understand that?  it costs 1500+ upgrading for a nice PC for gaming and only 300 for a 360.  so why NOT buy a 360 if u want games that the PC gets + some AAA exclusives (Gears, Forza, etc...) and want to pay less for it? do u not see ur owning urself when u compare a PC and a 360

TC i sorta agree with you. if i would of known that Gears of war was coming out for the pc, i would not have bought the 360. but besides that games ill be getting on Pc are

Bioshock, Alan Wake, Half Life Epi 2, Dirt

as for 360. Mass effect unless it goes to pc also then ill get the pc version

Lost Odessey looks like a really boring game from the game footage i have seen. so that game ill end up passing.

Eternal Sonata is a game ill be getting.

Blue dragon i was going to get but played the JP version didnt turn out what i thought it would be like . was very boring

Forza 2 i might get but not sure yet.  I didnt care for the demo to much. the graphics i was not impressed, but the game play was there at least.

Why own a 360?

  • $200 Cheaper then PS3
  • Equal Graphics
  • Better games
  • More quality games
  • Better online
  • Better Multiplatform games
