Why the dislike for Sony?

To be totally honest, given how weak an exclusive year this was for MS and how abysmal a year this was overall of the Wii [like, worse than the PS3 launch abysmal] I have a hard time seeing why people still think Sony is such an inferior company. PraetorianMan

From what I've seen, people mostly hate their fanboys and say negative stuff about Sony to piss them off.

Sony is a company that puts out quality (if slightly generic) stuff. There's no reason to hate them. Business failings are not really a reason to hate a company IMO and they are not the only company that makes choices due to wanting to make as much money possible even if it negatively impacts consumers. If I hated a company for not being as pure as the driven snow, I'd have to hate Nintendo as well and you guys know how much I love Nintendo's games.

Wii users are mad that they don't get many multi-plats worth a crap.

Xbots are mad that they don't get many exclusives worth a crap and they have to pay to play online.

Read my other posts. Sony didn't do much to fix the PS1 and PS2 issues. When the PSN hack occurred the whole world was watching. Sony didn't have much choice, but to cater to their user base. They aren't known for doing that unless the issue gets out to the News station and papers. You have to know Sony's history .

Oh no, I was around. 3rd party companies were leaving Sony like rats swimming across the Volga. I'm tempted to say, however, that 360 has lost an equal number of formerlyexclusive developers over the years. It just wasn't in a single mass exodus. Its currently to the point where Xbox has Gears, Halo [under new management], Forza.... and.... a few other things?PraetorianMan

There is a big difference though: People didn't make a fuss about games like Bioshock & Oblivion being ported to PS3 because those games have already been released on PC & 360 & that most people have already played them on either one of those two platforms.

People (mostly PS3 fanboys) made a fuss about games like Devil May Cry 4, Assassin's Creed 1, & Final Fantasy XIII being ported over to 360 because they were still in development at the time & that they were all deemed PS3 exclusive.

Well your asking two different questions here, I dislike Sony the company because they trmaple on consumer rights from time to time (MS has done it too). BUT I like the Playstation because it's a bran I trust and it gives me the best experince suited to my prefrences.

As for the reason PS3 get's so much hate on here, it mostly comes from xbox fanboys because they are jealous that they don't have very many exclusives to play these days. And they see the PS3 and all it's games and it upsests them, plus the PS3 exclusives have higher production values and look better than 360 games. They arevery sensitive about it, but instead of getting mad about the PS3 they should be getting mad at MS and demand better games, because if they don't the only thing 360 gamers are going to be playing is Kinect and multiplats.

Would you quit thinking that graphics makes a game and quit being so concerned about the games launched on the 360. To be honest, I do like sony as much as I like microsoft. I also own sony TVs and a Microsoft Windows 7. I don't hate sony at all, in fact I welcome them into the video game family, I just hate cows like Shadowmoses here who is a graphics whore.

I remember multiple threads similar to this a couple months ago except with Nintendo in the title
