I extremely hate the "give it time" slogan. I don't want to give it time, I've seen what it represents. When the 360 launched there was nothing but a bunch of PC ports and let down first party games with last gen graphics just on HD, did that stick? No. The Wii just launched a couple months ago and many games such as *NiGHTS, Project Treasure Island Z, Dewey's Adventure, Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party, and Boogie* are all in development. Not only that but we are already seeing new titles *such as the recently announced Snatcher2 and just today announced Soul Caliber Adventure* take the reigns of the system.
At the rate its going, I know what its going to become. Call it inference, call it an educated guess, but I've named the most common scenario. More casual consumer = more casual games. Easily seen.
Just like the DS has no hardcore games am I correct? And there have ALWAYS been casuals on consoles this is nothing new. Remember the PS2? I wouldn't call Madden, Cars, Need for Speed, or Lego Star Wars the quote unquote "hardcore games".

Whether or not the Wiimote has or had potential to create amazing games has yet to be seen.
Wii Sports? Trauma Center? Zelda *the highest rated game of the year according to gamerankings/metacritic*?
I was promised a revelution. What I was given was a rehashing.
.....okay I'm seriously sick of people who think rehasing hasn't been around. Remember the early 360? Remember the early DS with nothing but tech demos and N64 ports? This happens with every system that sells well with no aware. Devs didn't know the Wii would sell so good. So now they're trying to cash in on it by porting games from last gen, while working on new games designed ground up just for the system*example EA may have published Godfather but they are also working on My Sims and Boogie* This whole "rehash" thing is just a phase just like it was for the DS and PSP and the 360. It will eventually wipe away? How you ask? There is no way rehases are going to sell if there's a quality advertised game out there. What sold better Prince of Persia: Rival Swords/Godfather/Far Cry: Vengence or Sonic and the Secret Rings/Trauma Center/ Super Paper Mario? Each rehases I listed have yet to break 60,000, while the original games have each broke 200,000 *except for Trauma Center which is around 130,000 sold. People want quality new games and that's what the developers are working on and will give them. I don't know how that's so hard to grasp we've seen this happen countless times before with the PSone, DS, 360.
Heck the PSone had the worst reviewed launch of all-time

I think we both know how long that kept up for.
Just saying that these rehases is all the system will be is just sheer ignorance along with uneducation, espeically on a consoles marketing being "all about gameplay". Now I can't make you like the Wii because that is YOUR opinion, but for you to say that it's just going to stand and be a rehash console is probably one of the most wrong statements you can make about any console.
