Why waste time and money on making dead rising 2 when you can easily make a profit by just porting the original game over to the wii. Sure it will be crap, but it's easy and will pay off at the end.

Because it will pay off in the end sure, but not nearly as much as dead rising 2 would. I am surprised that the first one sold as well as it did, as hard, fun games are hard to come by for a reason, people don't buy them. 2 would sell about as well, and the engine and everything is already made, so profits would probably even out do that of DR.Why waste time and money on making dead rising 2 when you can easily make a profit by just porting the original game over to the wii. I know you are probably a wii fanboy, or at least someone who plays and enjoys wii, but just play the 360 version and look at these screens. Sure its early, but there were hundreds of zombies on screen, thats what made if fun, having 10-20 doesn't even compete. Im just curious what the underground garage will look like now though, 10-20 zombies every couple hundred feet :( Yikes. There's no way those two pics of the characters are from the Wii version... anyone else agree?gamerfreak13
yes . it's from wii version cutscenes.

The game was crap on the 360 and will be crap on the Wii. Your point? Dead Rising benefitted from being a very early 360 title with very little competition.SpaceMountain86Are you kidding me? I still play it and love it today, and you saying that disgusts me. Have you even played it? Is it too difficult for your likes.
It was incredible, both technically in graphics and in gameplay. It was difficult, frustrating at times to the point where I want to toss my controller at my television, but it was still fun and definitely a spectacle, still is.

Resident evil 4 for the wii was an UPGRADE. Dead Rising is a huge DOWNGRADE. look at those 2 words in caps, see the difference. The main upgrade to the RE4 wii was motion controls, sure, but it was still upgraded in every other way as well. Dead Rising: Chop till you drop is a downgrade in every fasion BUT the motion controls which may or may not be an advantage.[QUOTE="mdisen"][QUOTE="falconclan"][QUOTE="mdisen"][QUOTE="CB4McGusto"]Why waste time and money on making dead rising 2 when you can easily make a profit by just porting the original game over to the wii. DOWNGRADE DOWNGRADE DOWNGRADE. I dont know how many times I need to write it, the thing that made the 360 version truly something to drool at was the amount of zombies, the total carnage, hundreds of zombies on screen at once without even a sputter in framerate(till you start killing :D), and then, you get to run them all over in a car or mow them down with a chainsaw.[QUOTE="falconclan"]Are you kidding me? Dead Rising is my favorite new IP this gen and an all time favorite of mine and I think what they are doing with the Wii is tragic.
Not to mention all the Wii posters that I see posting about how violence in games is over done and then looking forward to one of the most violent games I have ever played.
Anyone remember the female security guard holding those women captive in the clothing shop? and uh..... well it would be inappropriate to talk about here.

DEAD RISING IS NOT ANYTHING LIKE AN RE GAME! Get it? It is not a linear action a game based around shooting. You rarely shoot in DR and only one battle requires it.
Zombies are the obstacle not the objective in Dead Rising. It's a shame they are turning it into a lame RE spin off and a lot of Wii owners will never know what it was all about.
I hope DR2 expands on the original vision and does not take the route of this lame port. All any fan needs to do is look at the screens and what Capcom has said about the Wii version to know it won't be Dead Rising.

Because thats just dead rising with RE4 controls and 1/8 the zombies, thats how. What made DR fun for me personally, and I believe I speak for MOST people on this was the amount of zombies, the utter carnage, chopping heads left and right. I think it would be fun, but this is such a huge downgrade I just can't see it working out to be anything more than a pitiful wii port.I own and played to dead the original DR, I don't need to play this crappy port to know that it will suck.Hardly, you can't tell anything from a couple of screenshots, nor have you played the game.

Dead Rising with RE4 Wii controls = win. Crappier graphics in exchange for better controls = Win. I just love watching all the fanboys scream "downgrade! downgrade!" They were probably all part of the group complaining about the game when it first came out. Now that it's on the Wii, "Quick! What makes my version better? Buh, buh, buh... Dead Rising is not a linear action game or a game that focused on shooting at all. It as about dealing with an ocean of zombies to survive.

dr-venkman I ask you a question then. Have you ever played Dead Rising? What was fun about it to you? For me, it was just about everything, but if I had to choose one thing it was the amount of zombies, sounds stupid, but just play it. Killing 20 zombies is not the same as killing over 9000!falconclan
Besides, you kill them just to get where you need to go because you have no choice.
It is a real shame what is going to happen when the Wii version hits.

Correct, one looks good, the other not so good.
They both look like the game I know and love to death. I loved it because it was not an RE clone or a zombie shooter. It was a direct nod to those great zombie B flicks.
It is a shame it will be turned into a game like that so it is digestible to the few Wii fans it will have appeal for.

It's mind-boggling how ignorant you are.
You know what's really sad? These Dead Rising fanboys out of some silly loyalty to the Xbox360 are hoping this Wii-make fails, even though its success is the best chance for a Dead Rising 2 on the Xbox360.mdisen
Dead Rising 2 is already coming. Besides, I don't want a sequel to what Capcom has said the Wii version will be.
Just google Dead Rising 2. If the Wii version corrupts that game all the Dead Rising "fanboys" can kiss the game they love so much and had so much potential to grow goodbye.

Really, both the screens of the 360 version look VASTLY superior to the wii screens. Blood effects are better, zombies are higher in numbers, and while not the best image of the game (I think its the ugliest section in the game anyways, never went there except to get to the food store or hardware shop anyways) it still looks a ton better than the wii version, and thats to be expected, but my complaint isn't "teh graphics" its "teh zombies"
