Wii U is dead (RIP), so who should Replace Nintendo?

Of the big three, Nintendo's console division is the only one that has been making profit year after year, whereas MicroSony's console divisions have been making losses year after year. If Nintendo is doomed, then what about Sony & Microsoft? They may have larger assets that can keep them going despite the losses, but Nintendo also has assets in the tens of billions, so the same goes for them. Even if the Wii U does fail, it would take generations of failure before Nintendo ever finds themselves in a Dreamcast-like situation...

Speaking of which, if one of the big three were to drop out, I'd love to see Sega take another shot...

Based off of doesn't mean it's a clone. Just slapping more cores onto a chip doesn't magically mean it'll work either.

The bottom line is that they all use IBM PowerPC architecture. The GameCube just happens to be the first console to use PowerPC architecture (hence why it was so efficient compared to the original Xbox's Pentium III architecture).

Nintendo as a company is not going anywhere.

But I think with PC, Microsoft, I phones, Sony, Apple....One or 2 hardware makers might fall off the map. And I don't think Nintendo can do enough to catch up with Sony and Microsoft at this point.

But keep the tablets and smartphones for less power hungry and family friendly games and the bigger games on PS4/720/PC.

Nintendo has in CASH.  Let me explain that to you.  Most companies have a combination of cash and assets that keep them operating (Sony, Microsoft).  Nintendo has the same.  But, Nintendo has so much cash that...

1. They aren't going anywhere because they're not in debt.

2. Have only lost any money the last 2 years out of a 30 year history.

3. Have so much damn cash that they can spend.  Cash means, readily available money.  No buildings need to be sold or divisions closed or layoffs.

It's already been stated that PS4's OS will use less than 1GB of the RAM after a game starts and the rest will be used to run the game.
