I really don't see any console going over 299 next gen. Maybe one of the HD twins going for 349 but I feel like even that is pushing it.
R.I.P. Nintendo, if rumors were to be true.
At least PS3 gained 3rd party support. (key words: GAINED). And unlike Nintendo, Sony has an excellent relationship with 3rd party support.
Why do Nintendo fans always DENY everything? When the specs get leaked........."no way....not possible...FAKE..stop believing everything you read on the net.....its all the media's(or Sony's) fault " When the insane pricing is rumored (after IWATA already said it was going to be expensive)......."no way....not possible...FAKE..stop believing everything you read on the net.....its all the media's(or Sony's) fault " Its funny. None of them said a goddamn word when the Vita's "RUMORED" memory card prices were floating around :roll:StrongDeadlift
First of all, those specs were leaked from a fan site, so who in their right mind would ever believe them?
This "Insane price is from Australian retailers, and Australia always gets higher prices.
- RRP for PS3 60GB on release in Australia = 999 AUD
- RRP for 3DS on release in Australia = 349 AUD
- RRP for 360 on release in Australia = 649 AUD
- RRP for Wii on release in Australia = 399 AUD
- RRP for Skyrim on release = 109 AUD
- RRP for Uncharted 3 on release = 109 AUD
- RRP for Battlefield 3 on release = 108 AUD
- RRP for NBA 2K12 on release = 99 AUD
So no, 599 AUD in Australia for the Wii U is not that expensive, considering I bought a PS3 for 999 dollars at launch.
NOTE: As of 12/13/2011 1 U.S. dollar = 0.993739442 Australian dollars.

Third. Why would Nintendo fans defend Sony over the rumored Vita pricing?
Bt the way, which Nintendo fans blame Sony for the rumors?
This cannot be true. After the disaster the ps3 launch was and how sony is STILL paying HEAVILY for doing that over 5 years ago, I don't believe anyone would be stupid enough to launch at that price.. They just CANNOT BE THAT STUPID.
I don't know about the other places, but Australian prices alway suck for everything. Can't say this means much to me now.

This. Sh*t here gets marked up the f*cking ass, with new console releases being around $110, anyone in Australia that doesn't import either don't know about importing or are just showing blind faith to the Australian retails that rip them off so much.
Wii sales decling, 3DS suffering - Nintendo fixes both.
I don't see this being legit, why would they stop now? They're on a roll - they know they can't screw up the Wii U's launch like the 3DS' and get away with it. I don't see this happening.
Nintendo should have learned from the 3DS and PS3 launch that, if you squeeze the customer too much with pricing, they won't buy your product. Best to wait until E3 for official pricing. The rumor mill is running wild at the moment.
600$ for less than a gig of RAM and a quad core @3.0? GL with that Nintendo lmao.silversix_There is so much wrong with this post. We have no idea about either the Wii U's finalized (or non finalized for that matter) specs, nor its pricing.

I know you want your WiiU to be good but for now it looks like a Wii compared to last gen.

I liked your gyarados avatar better :/
If it launches at $300, then I'm sold.
I've only played Wii games at the houses of friends, so it would be nice to get a decently priced console with the library of two previous systems (Gamecube and Wii), especially with the giant backlog of amazing unplayed Nintendo games I'd like to have during a summer drought.

I did not say that I knew anything about it either, which incidentally is why I have refrained from any sort of comment on the Wii U so far. However, you tried to pass off the $60 pricing and the rumored specs as fact in your post. Calling you out on that was not wrong.[QUOTE="charizard1605"][QUOTE="silversix_"]600$ for less than a gig of RAM and a quad core @3.0? GL with that Nintendo lmao.silversix_

But Skyrim is awesome!Wii U will not play Gamecube games. Unless maybe they are on the nintendo store. If it launches at $300, then I'm sold.

Guys, it's just a placeholder. The swedish website Webhallen.se set the price to 4999 kr the very moment the Wii U was announced.
What's so bad about a 600$ price tag? Do you want a good system or not? I see nothing wrong with that price. By the way, Microsoft uses tactics like having people pay for live or buy a hard drive to hide the real cost of their system. If you can't see this, then you need to have your eyes checked.

Then why have a next-gen in the first place? We already have 300$ systems. Next-gen means that the new systems will be more powerful, hence cost more than current ones. I am pretty sure every new console will sell for more than 300$. 500$ would be a good guess.
It is a placeholder. It may very well end up costing $599, but, at this point in time, it is just a placeholder. If they offer pre-orders at $300 then Nintendo prices the console at $400 or $500 they have to honor the pre-order price... Hence, overshoot the pre-order pricing and then adjust down for the actual price once it gets announced. People who pre-order get the system at the real price(I don't know of any place that doesn't offer automatic price reductions on pre-orders in case the item goes on sale before release), but the retailer avoids getting screwed over from early pre-orders.
Seriously people, use some common sense.
Why spend $600 on a wii u with a gimmicky expensive controller when you can use that same $600 and get a PC that runs the most demanding games at High?

It's a similar situation in every nation of the EU apart from the UK which is like a third world shopping paradise for the rest of the EU.Please Log In to post.
